This "New Feature" is the same ERS system from F1 2019, which Lando Norris played on stream and said "This thing from Codemasters, going up and down modes, is Bullcr@p". It's not how the drivers uses ERS at all. Lando said they stick to either a standard mode, use an overtake button if they need it, or switch the a recharge mode for Cool Down laps. This ERS feature is not just unrealistic, its incredibly tedious to be spending more time flicking between modes than actually driving the car in order to be competitive.
Well, we’re waiting…
True, it just is so annyoing fiddling with this shit to be fast instead of actually driving. Lemme drive and not click buttons.
It's definitely not the same, but it is definitely annoying having to change modes multiple times per lap. But back in 2019 you also had to manage fuel...That was painful!
Yea i remember the f1 drivers mocking it. And i remember how happy people were when it was removed. I really dont understand why they have added it back. It makes things more difficult and is a "skill" you will have to master. But its fake
ERS is so overpowered this year. Overtake mode feels like a Nitrous boost and recovering ERS is way too easier than last year. I wonder if this will actually help in better racing or eliminate skill gap between the drivers...
I agree! I think trains of cars will continue but the skill gap of waiting for the perfect moment to use battery will be more important than before, as when they are recharging/not on overtake you could overtake so many cars
It makes for better racing honestly
The handling platform on this game is the worst in the series IMO. Unless the next patch is a major overhaul, i won't even be playing it. Plus, they've completely ballsed all the G923 FFB functions so it doesn't work. For a game that cost me well over $110au, I'm really dissapointed. Hopefully yourself (and other Esports guys) can help us get to grips with it with these kinds of videos. Which, i am immensely grateful for by the way! 🙏
Why couldn't they just leave it alone? 😂
Me too i feel ripped off right now. The handling is sooooo bad
@doubleboy2388 same. I was going to try and get it refunded but amazingly, it's not "eligible for a refund" 🤦♂️
@@doubleboy2388it really isn’t but alright
They already said there’s an update coming soon.
Is there any ffb on the g923
Really great video. Super helpful for races, unique vid and great ❤
Thank you! ❤️
You deserve more recognition 🙌🏽🙏🏽
I concur!
thank you for this, been needing a guide so bad
Ty for your video but you didn't mention the crucial option in the setup menu: engine braking has a significant impact on how fast you can recover ERS.
Doing this with a controller is madness
it really is😭😭😭
It really isn't that hard
You can set it up so you use the right analog in stead of the D Pad in settings. Makes it way easier. If you need to use the mirrors you just press circle until it’s on tyre wear or temp screen, then the analog works normally again
Excellent explained again! Well done!
Its crazy how fast it recharges
I think we will need aspirin after every race
glad I just play casual career mode and can adjust AI to my ability. Don't really wanna deal with that unrealistic switch mode shit.
thats mad for competitive controller players ngl
What’s is the red bar ? After it get fully red you lose power ?
Red bar is how much battery you harvest per lap via brakes. You can only harvest so much every lap. But lift and coasting will still charge the battery.
@@ccramit As I understand it, the green bar is the amount of time, how long you can use drs, and what does the yellow bar mean?
@@xpro453the yellow is how much ers you have left
5:38 for race

Ultimately this video helped me understand the new ers and ultimately i won’t need another video.

Such a bad game it really is
Is hotlap broken Brendan? In 23 it would drain the battery on a lap for the most part. In 24 that doesn’t really happen unless you use overtake. Is this a bit more realistic? 23 was my first f1 game so I have no reference.
I’m not sure completely, but it’s definitely weird that it doesn’t drain fully with hotlap
5:38 for race
@brendonleigh Would you mind sharing what button did you map in the wheel for the ERS management?
Very informative i beleive this video will definitely help me gain some time and be more competitive.
What button on the wheel do you use for changing deployment mode?
This is such a confusing thing. What if a casual dude wants to just play a race game without having to take a god damn college course know how to use ERS
The most over exaggerated opinion award goes too…
I really dont like how they brought back ERS micromanagement
I don't mind it, but it seems broken. Hot Lap doesn't seem to be any different from medium. And even on medium, you can still harvest a good chunk of battery every lap. Not only that, but they buffed overtake like crazy this year.
I feel like they did this to make the skill gap smaller. Which is kind of stupid considering DRS is now available on Lap 2. If you thought DRS trains were bad, get ready for even worse trains.
