    Even if the male barbarian isn't the player from Diablo 2, he could have very well been one of the mercenaries you could hire in Harrogath. That would explain him seeing the worldstone as he whould still be there along with whoever the player was that hired him. I find it interesting, it'd be the first time a player character in a future game started as a mercenary from a previous game.

      True. There are some games where an important character was a mere extra in the previous title. For example, Viktor Reznov from COD series was a side character from Call of Duty World at War but in Black Ops, he was a very important character.

    • @coreywilson3493
      @coreywilson3493 5 років тому +2

      @@foofoo3344 What World at War did you play? Reznov was absolutely INTEGRAL to every single event in the Russian side of that game's campaign. Granted, his role had increased significance to the story of Black Ops 1, but he was still a very significant character in WaW.

      I think we learn by the Crusader talking with the ghosts in D3 act 5, that she is the only one remaining of the 100 hundre. Each of them would only train one apprentice, so 100 went in, and 1 came out, and a couple of generations had passed, so it can't be the paladin.
      But i really like your idea of the paladin going mad from seeing the Zakarum fall. Maybe he just ended as some nobody in an insane asylum. Would be tragic.

I don't think he became a Crusader though as all of them had been trained up to be Crusaders from the start apart from the Paladins. I could see him going off to found a new order, or just retiring to a nice calm place to contemplate the light in peace, or more likely dying in battle with the forces of evil, likely remnants of the Zakarum, as he tried to help redeem his faith.

      I'm guessing getting 20 years older and being out of that type of fighting for so long could have made her skills go down a bit especially if you're caught guard by what I would imagine would be a top level assassin. She also didn't defeat the prime evils by herself either, all the other characters helped alot with taking them down.

      So you think a masterclass mage can't be backstabbed or poisoned by a masterclass assassin? Do you not know how assassins work? It's not a duel, it's murder. Especially if the murderer has identical feats as the sorcerer... being as you said, defeating the prime evils.

    • @patrickt49

      I forget the source but apparently the sorceress didn't go down without a fight when they found her body. Since the sorceress draws upon magic to fight, it would make sense for the assasin to bring some sort of item to nullify her powers before taking her down. Her greatest strength became her greatest weakness in the end.

    Natalya killing Isendra fits quite well with what we learn about her in D3. Reading the lore bits on the Natalya set pieces, it is revealed that Natalya had quit the Order because of something she couldn't live with and became a Demon Hunter seeking redemption.

      I agree with you brother, but in the lore that DII Barbarian is called Renit. After his group defeated Diablo he and his group departed to his homeland where a Druid and an Assassin joined their team against Ba'al. The same group of heroes who defeated Diablo also defeated Ba'al and together along with the Druid and Assassin, saw the Worldstone collapse as Tyrael destroyed it in order to prevent Ba'al's influence. However, the destruction of the Worldstone made the new generation of humans powerful again (that is the new group of heroes in DIII) many years later after the events of Lords of Destruction, Renit somehow led an army at Daken-Shar where he lost a battle against Ba'als last surviving demons and somehow managed to meet Cairo (Cairo is playable in DIII and she is also called the Chosen) in the future. Renit and Xul somehow reunited in DIII and formed a new group of heroes against Diablo.

Arreat Talic, Madawc and Korlic during the LoD and it is the first time Renit is called the Nephalem by the trio. Once defeated, they became Renit's spectral guardians as he retain that ability to summon them in DIII.

      Yeah gameplay rarely ever directly equals canon. Things such as game mechanics are a good reason for that. Just because its in the game, doesnt make it canon. If it did, then does that mean every bug, glitch, and crash in the game is canon? And how do you account for the fact people have done thousands if not millions of different playthoughs of the game? Not every single one of those millions is canon.

Then he becomes "The dark wanderer", then in Diablo 3 we are expected to believe he was king Leoric's son, Aidan like changing him to being Leorics son would even matter. Playing Heroes of the Storm both Cassia and espcially Xul basically go: "Oh, so you do exist" when on a team with D3 player class. So, if they had a Nephalem in their group back in D2 they'd be less impressed by the ones from D3. And for some reason, they're pretty good at identifying a Nephalem when they see one.

    There is flavor text with the Natalya set in D3 that suggests that the Vij'Katar/Kral Harjek was dismantled by Natalya after she was forced to do something terrible. This is likely the murder of Isendra, and in her remorse she turned her back on the ways of the assassin and became one of the first demon hunters as we see them in D3. to add something about assassin, in diablo 3 Natalya's Slayer hand crossbow has description that states she left viz-Jaq'taar for unknown reasons and joined demon hunters. Personally i am not fan of that, just shows diablo 3 developers could not come up with new name, high status demon hunter so they just took someone from past and changed its lore in their liking.
    Personally i have seen diablo 2 assassin as original character and only sharing her model with natalya, why else she would meet with the actual natalya at act 3 docks.
    Also i like to think that it was diablo 2 playable assassin who killed Isendra, not because she betrayed Isendra but because Isendra was growing dangerously powerful and these too powerful mages are known for falling corrupted, for example diablo 1 sorcerer.
    Otherwise really fun video. liked!

    • @AustinLmao
      @AustinLmao 5 років тому +2

      I would think the sin can still be natalya because the lore was established before the expansion pack lord of destruction was... Meaning the initial assassin lore was based on Natalya, possibly with little to no concept actually behind the release of the assassin character, and due to the clear lack of coding/development in that time I think after the release of LOD they didn't have the means to make it so that she disappeared when playing the assassin character to help better recognize that she was infact Natalya.

    • @Doppeli899
      @Doppeli899 5 років тому

      @@AustinLmao you do understand that the lore stayed exactly the same when LoD hit, they just delved deeper on some story areas, its not like today blizzard is changing and retcon everything on whim to their absolute need to just keep milking WoW.
      Anyway, the lore even before LoD stated that viz-Jaq'taar was an order and orders consist of bunch of people usually. so i think the only logical explanation is that they shared the assassin model from natalya because of time restrictions because holy hell, of course they knew how to code, they had passion for this game and its bad storytelling having two of the same exact characters in one place

    • @AustinLmao
      @AustinLmao 5 років тому +3

      They knew how to code? Are you not familiar with d2 LOD? Do you not know about all of the different bugs, glitches, loopholes, client-side vs. server-side issues that the game has had since release due to their spaghetti coding? Issues that have been reported since its release that now almost 20 years later STILL haven't been touched on because credible developers have said themselves this games foundation is absolutely tragic and unfixable... I wouldn't put it past them to release a character that was an NPC and fail to code it.. The original team behind the game even left shortly after so the development team isnt even the same post release, they weren't on the same page.

    • @Doppeli899
      @Doppeli899 5 років тому

      @@AustinLmao You know, if they would have not known how to code, we would not have any diablo games. sure, there are bugs.
      Alot of them and i do think too that they will never be truly fixed unless they do some diablo 2 remake, open the game to its core and start to build & fix it anew.
      Also im pretty sure that those bugs was/were bigger challenge than changing the playable assassin head model from its host model.
      Still, the game is being played to the fullest to this very day and is very much playable even with its flaws.
