  • In this video we cover how to get a stronger squat, how to squat more, and how to get some big legs. Bottom line is if you aren't squatting you need to be! Frequency recommended is 1-3x per week with about 10-20 sets.
    I find more often than not, most people aren't hitting a high enough frequency. So give that a shot if you are only currently hitting lets 1x per week.
    I go over my top exercises for leg strength and aesthetics. If you input these exercises properly your squat strength will improve! I break it down by my current top 3 exercises for strength assistance, and then my top 3 exercises for hypertrophy training. These vary but right now this is what I've been doing. All great tips man. Another thing I’ve found helpful for squat is doing cluster singles with maybe about a minute rest in between. You use a moderate heavy weight (rpe 7-8.5) and do anywhere from 5-10 singles. This really helps you nail down the setup for the squat and also lets you focus on form in general since it’s only singles. Having an efficient setup/unrack is HUGE when it comes to squatting heavy weights.

    According to science and recommend by pro lifters you have to work your legs at least 2x per week letting them rest at least 48 hrs or they won't grow up.. I already wondered if I could or should work them 3x per week by my job (construction) is not a very good choice to let them rest as they should.. anyways I'd appreciate any advice. :)

    I'm still a beginner but I found hitting squats more then once a week is rough on my elbows and shoulders. To get the work in I'll hit squats heavy on Monday's and leg press for higher volume on Thursday's.
    It works for me, any opinions for or against that idea?

    • @ssm-sf8by
      @ssm-sf8by 5 років тому

      Expecially as a beginner you should get more practice in the movement
      Try high bar squatting to reduce stress on elbow and shoulder
      Do extra work by just hitting lighter days (80 - 85% relative intensity)
      Split the sets you'd do in one day over 2 days if you are doing more than 4 sets in one day
      Either one of this options is worth trying out as a beginner
