Great review. Just bought this keyboard myself with the banana switches. Currently applied a tape mod, and I am going to replace some of the foam with slightly thicker 3mm Poron foam. Going to relube a couple of the switches as well, but overall I love this keyboard it's incredibly easy to customize and is a lot of fun to use.
So awesome to hear! Great job on the tape mod. Lube your stabs too! I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the backplates for this keyboard. I think I'll fall in love with the brass but I do want to share what the differences between them are for everybody
Edit: Big OOOOOOOOOF! They are out of stock right now! :( I'm going to email them and see if we can make something happen.....
Great video - thanks!!
Great review, good job!
Right on thanks Dusk!
I have this keyboard, same color and switches and I've been very impressed. I'm using it with my Mac studio, couldn't take the Apple one anymore, and it's functioning flawlessly. I'm using a GMMK Pro, with Pandas, on my gaming PC and there are pros and cons for each. This is definitely louder and less "thocky" but the gasket performance out of the box is amazing! Keycaps are growing on me but may get replaced eventually Great review and very pleased with my purchase! I do like the banana switches as well, not as smooth as Pandas but somewhat close and definitely a nice balance for work and gaming!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're loving your keyboard too. I changed out the keycaps and switches in this keyboard - put on KAM Superuser keycaps and vintage cherry MX blacks from the 90's. Feels pretty nice. I do agree the double gasket it amazing. I really want to try this board with a brass backplate
I love the white! Great video
Me too! Thank you!
I need one for my office!
I just got this from Micro Center today! I're really liking it so far but I love all my Keychrons...
Awesome pickup, I love going to microcenter too! What's your favorite part about the board so far? You got the bananas?
Great video thank you so much. Questions:
1. What can I do to add more stabilization for the space bar?
2. Where can I go to get lime green key caps? Someone has said Techron key caps are specific and maybe have limited aftermarket support…??
Just got this barebone in White, still waiting for switches and caps though. But man, straight out of the box this feels like a tank! The rotary encoder and knob feels amazing, very smooth and precise. I will never buy a mainstream pre-built plastic Ducky, Corsair or Logitech ever again, this is so much better! Hopefully this trend of highly customizable boards will just increase over time and larger companies will jump on it too.
So happy to hear it, welcome aboard. What switches/caps do you have incoming? You'll be cursed with this board now so good luck - you can never go back to another keyboard without a rotary encoder lol.
is it too loud? I prefer silent ones. I hated my varmilo sakuras which felt really smooth, but quite noisy
!DISCLAIMER! - I made a mistake when speaking about and displaying the backplate options for the Q1 Pro Wireless. The backplates shown in this video are for the regular Q1. There are 2 more options available for the Q1 Pro Wireless, Brass & Aluminum: www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q1-pro-plates

Hi!, are the keycaps backlit? do the backlight illuminates the letters?
me doing an herb run while watching you do one too lmao
Real recognize real brother
Honestly, at first I felt buyers remorse when I got mine, as I feel even after all of my modding, the sound profile was not the greatest in my collection, even though it was my most expensive. But, as I built more and more keyboards, I have came to realize that the Keychron Q1 does have the best typing experience out of any board that I own, and I find myself typing on this board primarily. The gasket performance is fantastic, and offers a soft, comfortable typing experience, more than any of my other boards offer. When realizing the level of comfort this board provides, it is a great board, but not the best.
If you are looking for a keyboard that offers a premium typing experience, but don't want to break the bank, the Q1 is a great option. If you are looking for a board that offers the best acoustics, Keychron is definitely not the brand to go for.
Seems like you already used k4 on your desk? Can you suggest k4 or q1. Is there a really significant diffrence in terms if quality? I want to buy 96percent k4 for my ar hitectural work. What you suggest love from india.
Hey! That is a KBFans D65 on my desk, not a K4. I have been using my Q1 pro wireless as my main daily driver ever since I uploaded this video, and love it. It holds charge for like 3 days of HEAVY use. No latency when gaming on Bluetooth either. I can't speak to the K4, but I absolutely love my Q1 pro wireless. The rotary knob the keyboard features is the best feature on a keyboard period - I will never be able to use a keyboard without a rotary dial again!
This is great, but I need my Number pad. What do you recommend for a keyboard like this with a number pad? Thanks.
Hey! If you're interested in a standalone numpad check out this KeyChron Q0: www.keychron.com/pages/keychron-q0-customizable-mechanical-number-pad
If not then I would probably recommend a regular 100% board from Keychron, Ducky, or the likes!
I went with the Q3 and bought a separate number pad..I didn't want to say goodbye to ten key, but I also realized that those functions didn't need to be on the same device.
Very happy with my decision - I love the smaller keyboard and I still have my 10-key option when I want it!
What would be the equivalent for a similar one, but in the full-size keyboard?
This K17 pro might be up your alley: www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k17-pro-alice-layout-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard
The Q6 Pro Wireless is the same keyboard but 100% full size on their website.
Clutch, thanks for the recommendation@@Jacksquatch69
Here's a link to the keyboard mentioned: www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q6-pro-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard
Same keycaps and everything!
Hi, can u check connectivity to consoles like ps5 or xsx?
Yes I have a Playstation 4 I can try on. I'm at work right now so check back later and I'll put another comment here.
Hi, which stand do you use for the laptop?
Hey! it's this cheap-o from Amazon: amzn.to/48oAeNq
@@AnthonyJames7 Thanks!
Is your sound test with Banana, Brown or Red switches?
Bananas! Recording some more sound tests this weekend too
I bought a Q6 pro (UK ISO edition, 96%) the other week and it hasn't arrived yet, but I keep reading posts about keychron boards and latency issues. Not just with bluetooth (bluetooth is bluetooth), but even in wired mode. Is this just internet review noise, or is this something I should genuinely be concerned about? I play a lot of games, competitive and otherwise - so I'm wondering just how noticeable this latency, if it exists, truely is. Any thoughts?
Yeah I can definitely comment on this. But just a forethought - in no way am I like Linus TT or Gerald Undone (in the camera world) where I'm lab testing this equipment to gauge performance.
What I will say is that I use my Q1 Pro wireless in bluetooth every single day and I only plug it in every few days for a few hours. I play a ton of league of legends and WoW WotLK classic lately and bluetooth responsiveness has not been an issue at all. I can't say the same about my Corsair Harpoon wireless mouse. It's old and I'm replacing it soon, but if I try to use my mouse wirelessly it's got terrible tracking and latency. But I don't notice any delay at all using the Q1 pro wireless on bluetooth.
Another thing I'll say ... any wireless technology is subject to external interference. And also, there are 2 ends to the bluetooth connection - the device that transmits and the device that receives. Maybe if someone is having an issue with the Q1 Pro wireless their own equipment (motherboard or NIC) is faulty (or just not good quality) or there is actual RF interference in their setup from outside factors.
@@AnthonyJames7 That's very reassuring to hear, thanks for the clarification!
Absolutely.@@jyonlyon Let me know how it goes with the Q6 pro! Hope you love it
Arrived today, latency issues absolutely not a concern whatsoever. Even on bluetooth I've got to really pay attention to notice any latency at all - wired it's just not there whatsoever, at least in any amount I can actually notice even when I'm trying. Wonderful board, feels fantastic.@@AnthonyJames7
@@AnthonyJames7 Anyway if one is having problem with wireless mode conecting the USB cable to play any game would solve the issue? 1000Hz polling rate is enough for competitive gaming?
I just finished modding my Keychron Q5 (96%) Pro. You should mod your Q1 Pro. It's well worth it. Mine now sounds 100% better after modding it. I did the force break mod, 2 layers of electrical tape on the back of the PCB and kilmat automotive sound deadening material on the bottom of the case. You will not believe how thocky it now sounds. How to in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Qu5oj9DlpX0/v-deo.html
Oh yeah this keyboard is ripe for the modding! I already put vintage cherry MX blacks in the keyboard and put on KAM Superuser keycaps. I REALLY want to try the brass back plate in this
What is the diff between this and the non pro Q1? Is it worth the extra $ for the pro? All I’m doing is typing, not gaming.
A big difference is that the Non pro doesn’t have a Bluetooth function. I like the pro version cause it keeps my desk neat. Not sure about the price difference guess u could google that
commented for OSRS
anything for runescape baby!
Can this keyboard help me do the inferno??
Oh hell yeah. keybind the scroll knob to mouse keys and you're good to go!
The Bluetooth feature on several devices is nothing special. Nuphy been doing it for years. My air60 had that feature!
You're not wrong!
Rip arena mode 🥲
It was so fun!
I played Skyrim with this keyboard bro

Click-clack!
@@AnthonyJames7 Yeah like a freaking bonanza, shake it like a belly dancer 💃
Boring. 🥱
That thing is so loud
It is fairly loud for sure! That's probably the banana switches and SA keycaps talking
