My grandfather was one of the best blacksmiths in the entire railyard, but he didn't have a shop at home to teach me those skills. He wanted to build one after retirement but his health wouldn't permit it. Austin is extremely fortunate to learn from you!
My dad worked as a railway carman repairing damaged freight cars,I grew up watching him fix things and fabricate others,he rebuilt both my sister's and my first cars, I always wonder what he'd think of all the advances in welding and fabrication that have came along in the last 32 years.
I like how you’ve taught Austin the basics, how it doesn’t need to be perfect when you’re starting out. When he’s driving that beast around he’ll have a tremendous sense of pride plus he’s spent some quality time with family. Love it.

Later I decided to join the US military and the Army Corps of Engineers! After of 35 years of working as a mechanic, I finally was able to retire. That is when I found your UA-cam channel! Austin catches on very quick and should be fine to do the front floors . He has a expert teacher who explains in terms that are easy to understand you show him the basics , he catches on right away . Thank you for the classroom tutorial , there are lessons here for us all . Stuart in Ontario ..

I’m glad that Austin’s car didn’t go untouched this summer. I hope you get into redoing those ugly rear dog legs and he gets a good feel for what’s involved, but it can be doable. It’s a heck of a learning tool and I hope he embraces what you do.

The way you’re teaching him is best way one on one he will learn much quicker and gain valuable confidence to do what you are doing teach him to run the wiring and where they connect too he’s learning that not everything works out the first time
I just love that heated seat idea. Back in the 50s that was the idea I guess, a fan blowing over some heated elements to heat the seat. Crazy but it worked.
Every guy remembers there first car, his will be twice as good because he built that with grandfather and that’s something he will carry in his memories his hole life.
Looks like Austin learned a lot on this (including wearing shorts when grinding / welding is not a good idea) . Great to see the boys take an interest,and thanks Brent for teaching them .
