I loved the Bondi 7 so much that I bought 2 more pairs. Looking forward to getting the 8, but it will be a while. Best shoes ever. If you are not a runner but are on your feet all day, get these!

Went on a 5 mile walk wearing a 20lb vest and the bondi 8 performed well.

I just bought the Bondi 8s today. Highly recommended by my Orthopedic Surgeon. I just had a knee replacement a few months ago and my job consists of walking on concrete all day. I hope these do the job.
First time I ever had running shoes that fit nicely in the ankle/ heel.

I usually run in Brooks Ghosts. I just picked the Bondi 8 today. I am watching videos to convince myself of my purchase 😂 I’m worried about going from 12mm to 4mm drop. Gonna ease into it. My hips are off due to mild scoliosis. Shoes that fit well are incredibly difficult to find. I went down a half size and got them in 2E. Gonna run in them tomorrow but they fit my feet perfectly. I’m praying for them to be good to me.

Ease into them. Lower drop transition may aggravate your achilles so listen to your body and you should be ok

Really appreciate this video. I was a heavy lifter for years until about six months ago started having problems with my left ankle and knee tried the sneakers on and they was amazing. Doctor suggested giving up the heavy, lifting and do more cardio. I really hope this help.

Same. Make lighter weight feel heavy by performing your reps so slow and controlled. Slow motion reps make it feel heavier than it is but still of course less loads on your joints, ligaments and tendons. Good luck.

It’s so weird that no reviewers mention how high AF the arch is on this and the Clifton. It’s a really obvious thing putting it on and def a different feel compared to 99% of other running shoes

Thanks for the review! How does it compare to Bondi B and Bondi 6? Loved those two shoes, but hated Bondi 7. I was flabbergasted by how stiff the 7 is compared to the 6.
Lastly, is it stiffer than the triumph 19?

Didn't try the 6 and this shoe is MUCH stiffer than the triumph 19.

Great review. I'm undecided between the Bondi 8 and the Gaviota. I love the plus feel, comfort and design of the Bondi 8 but I also have a little over pronation which I control with orthotics. Please advise thanks.

    Hi, Ryan,
Two excellent reviews, for this shoe, the Bondi 8, and for the Gaviota 4. (Btw, in Australia, at least, it's pronounced "Bond-eye.")
Question, please, for you or anyone here - I have terrible knees with not much meniscus left, and need all the cushioning I can get. Assuming either model would be a valid choice, I wonder if the Gaviota's J-frame, allegedly providing a more stable platform, might help reduce some of the torquing forces on the knees as well.
Any thoughts, recommendations (yes, I have considered giving up running entirely, no thanks!) would be appreciated. Thanks again for the excellent reviews.
    William

    • @RyansRunningReviewsYT
      @RyansRunningReviewsYT 2 роки тому +1

Good to know! It's a running joke on how to pronounce it here in MD lol the Gaviota is definitely more stable and may help. While a good pair of shoes help I highly recommend doing some serious PT to strengthen all the supporting muscles. The Knees Over Toes program has worked well for me

      Thank you, Ryan,
Checked out the KneesOverToes guy and am impressed! My Gaviotas arrive today and I'll get started with my KOT workouts tomorrow.
Thanks again. I really do appreciate your taking the time to reply.

large cushion bottom sneakers like Skechers and looking at this the same if you film yourself from behind you'll see your foot shifting to the outside or inside this is bad I just noticed it with the Skechers this will cause knee problems it's like marshmello in between you and the road maybe these are different but the Skechers are that way

The first and last Hoka shoes that I will purchase (Bondi 8). It is like running in soft sand, and these runners managed to knock 1 minute/km off my average run time. They just suck the life from your legs as you increase time and kms. I would avoid these shoes for anyone that 1) enjoys running and 2) wants to keep enjoying running. Where they might add value is for recovery days, or for people that are training for an event that has them running through knee deep mud or in very soft sand across sand dunes.
I am a heavy runner (90kg+) that runs 50km+ each week, and have not had an injury in about 5 years. These shoes changed that. My knees and ankles were inflamed and sore for days after running a slow 10km.
I usually wear Saucony or On Cloud shoes, and have recently switched back...and the muscle soreness disappeared...and my times magically came back up to my normal average!!
They are OK and comfortable for wearing around the house as a pair of slippers, but as a shoe for running - i would not recommend.
