Challenges: Did not enjoy those rocks out of Atapuerca
Highlights: walking the day with Marenka, Dasha and Suzanne. The river walk into Burgos was nice too.

Ahhhh so funny, i was there around the same time (sept/october) and stayed at the same hostel in Atapuerca. My bed was the bottom one that formed the other side of your bunks corner 😂.
Also, leaving Atapuerca, i couldnt even see the rocky terrain because the fog was so dense, i had NO idea what i was climbing, hardest thing ever! Thanks for sharing it!

Ahh...the never ending river walk into Burgos! So glad you are spending an extra day in Burgos...enjoy the Cathedral and all the surrounding neighborhoods!
Hahaha, it seemed like Burgos was so close when we 1st saw it and then took forever to get to. The river walk was beautiful, glad we took the alternative route in, otherwise it probably would have seemed a lot further. Looking forward to visiting the cathedra.
The sound of walking on gravel becomes very familiar after 30+ days of walking. I kind of miss that sound! We loved the cathedral in Burgos. A lot of the people who we were walking with stayed in Burgos as a rest day...but my son & I walked on further as we had a place booked in Tardajos, La Fabrica, which was amazing.. One of our best pilgrim meals was there.
It seems like everyone in my wave of pilgrims took or is taking a rest day in Burgos. We had dinner by the cathedral last night and it was just so beautiful, looking forward to visiting it today.
