Nice to see the different approach techniques, particularly the short field techniques both in and out of the field. You certainly seemed to have enjoyed that session, ans as you said, a lot of skill enhancement.
I am suprised at how little radio comm's there are. But great stuff, always good to mix up the landing when the conditions allow. I like practicing short field, soft field, cross wind and glid landing, when conditions allow.
I enjoyed that Giles as much as you did mate. I used to absolutely love circuits with all the emergencies that were thrown at me by the instructor and you nearly had a real-life problem with that paramotor on the runway, I thought it was a Deer at first LOL!! Well done mate really love these vids.
I'll need a paramotor first, I currently don't have one so you'll have to put up with flexwing flying for a while l. I can't wait to get back.to my little Peabee.
Those slow approaches need a bit of focus by the look of it. Really enjoying these - keep 'em coming! The 'emergency' moment reminded me of the moment my git of a gliding instructor pulled the cable release at 400ft on the climb out, on the wrong side of the circuit. Still - there won't be anything convenient or expected about a real life emergency so it's great practise.
Hi Dan, yes, needed a bit of focus. It was such a good lesson thats add so many more tools to my skill set. Yes the sneaky instructor did pull a good one but as you said, an emergency is never convenient. More to come. A bit of a low one next.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 Trike now registered C-ILYC 😊 , but now late in the season with weather getting crap for me. I doubt I will get up to do my Solo's. I have to start getting ready for winter and get things organized cleaned up in the garage. I think I will just focus on these other things and start up again in spring. Cheers
I have a little mic in the ear cup that goes directly into the Gopro 7 on my helmet. Its why, on the long flights I loose the audio at the end if that camera runs out of battery.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 I have also got a gopro 7 and have bought the external box for the audio, I will try that but have also bought a lead to go into the microavionics intercom to see how that works. I enjoyed the video thanks
On my own set up (PM 100), I have the vlog mod that takes all the audio from the speakers and outputs it to a 3.5 mm jack plug that goes straight into the gopro audio adapter. I made a video that's in my catalogue if you are interested.
Hi Giles. Do do think you will do engine failure at take off return to runway training like I am trying in my current series here ua-cam.com/play/PLKFj05su_9jYW-5sxRyRDYvoXrmfl-1Wj.html I’ve been following along here in the background, very interesting to see the training process in the UK. @@GolfFoxtrot22 Yes I post but it seems so slow to get people to subscribe or watch the vids. I want people to learn from my experiences but it seems so hard to get my content out there. I wish I could work with someone here to collaborate.... working on it.

Rewatching your videos, with an extra keen eye on the details... Fantastic learning tool, thank you Giles.
Hi Rab, I'm glad they are helping. It's the little details I leave in, for that very reason.
Yet another interesting and entertaining video....Oscar nomination coming up..!
Haha, not quite Oscar quality. It was an awesome lesson.
You’ll smash your GST Giles. Great skills learnt and a nice refresher for qualified pilots like myself.
Thanks Ben, there are still more to come. A few more highs and lows.
Engaging content mate.. I'm glued to all of these. 👍
That means a lot to me. To quote KyleO Glee, 'is this good content? '.
Great landings and decisions on go around. Looks like someone is close to GST time. Nice to see these refreshers even for us with lots of hours.
Hi Phil, it feels close I know, there are a few more high and low videos to come. The GST is close, I can feel it.
Nice to see the different approach techniques, particularly the short field techniques both in and out of the field. You certainly seemed to have enjoyed that session, ans as you said, a lot of skill enhancement.
Cheers John. Yes, it was one of those flights that just made a lot of things come together. It's all tools in the bank.
Excellent again Giles. I’m onto circuits now so it’s great to see the pattern and different perspectives from the different approaches. 👍🏼👍🏼
It's like we are following the same path. It was great catching up the other week.

They only do radio calls on the rejoin, its all safety comm and looking out at Darley Moor.

Thanks David. I need to get my bad brick work back for you. I do love circuits and being pushed to be a better pilot.
Your instructor has faith in you getting your GST . I wouldn't doubt him 😏
There is a few more hurdles and a couple of up and down flights to come. Terry has been brilliant.
Great progress Giles. I hope you do well and pass. I notice Terry no longer gets ready to grab the controls. Got to be a good sign:)
Hi Sandy, yes, it's interesting to notice when he does and doesn't reach for the controls. Still a long way to go yet. A few more ups and downs.
Can't wait to finish my sport pilots .
Being able to take others up would be amazing .
Best wishes on your GST .
Thank you and it will be great to take up a friend or family member in the future.
I have lots of catching up to do on the flexwing vids Giles, been mega busy. Thanks for uploading.
Just seen your Liverpool video, that tide came in quick.
Nice landings Giles, I'd certainly be proud of them :)
It was one of those flights where everything came together and I was just buzzing afterwards.
Great work Giles! Hurry up and get back to paramotoring. With each of these flexwing vids I watch the more I think I need one. LOL

You've got to hammer the brakes occasionally, it keeps the discs shiny!
Yes that's a really good point Tom. It was good to see you at Darley Moor the other week.
Are the registration numbers on the wing just stickers or do you have to order it from the factory with the numbers?
The G reg is fabric or vinyl letters that are registered with the CAA. They are put on by Flylight.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 So they're just glued on?
@TruthHurts2u yes, in simple terms, they are heat transferred, not stitched no. I hope that helps.

Those pesky PG guys getting in the way of fixed wing aircraft. ROFL
I know, who would have thought it.
Having Paragliders being towed across the main runway doesn’t seem right 😬
It's all controlled and the winch operator keeps and eye out.
