Hey Guys. Chris with Hogg Mine here! I think its safe to say Ashley kicked ass. Is that why you two big fellows made her carry that big rock? 🤣🤣🤣 Cant wait to have you guys back out again. Let me know when your coming next time and ill have that smoker going with BBQ to feed ya!
Hey Chris! We were walking back in shame after Ashley found that amazing stuff 😂. We're excited to come back and plan on it very soon! Some BBQ sounds incredible!
@@WILDKYLE Glad you had a great time and great finds. And that battle scars were totally preventable. Gloves. :P Thanks for the clean edit too. Everyone hates 4 minutes of camera bouncing around before you get to the point.
What awesome finds! Yes please return to Hogg Mine for more exploring in the future! That Rose Quartz is my favorite what gorgeous material you found there! Thanks for sharing Kyle! 🙂
The search for specimen pieces was exciting. I used to bring home rocks all the time and this brings back that joy. Thank You both and Kudos! Ashley (love the dance!!!)
WILDKYLE and team--you rock, literally!! My sis and I, both Florida girls, are heading to the Hogg Mine next week. We have never been there and now feel we have a better idea what to expect. We are really hoping to find just a few treasures to take home. We get such a kick out of your videos and learn so much. Love your sense of humor. Thanks for the entertainment!
Long, long ago, it was all rock or otherwise mountain. Amazing to me to understand how the geologic processes have turned mountains into dirt and clay that trees and plants grow upon. Now reveal crystals off beauty. Love it! Thanks!
What a fantastic pile of gems! Yes, please do more of that as well as fossil hunting. Your mud recliner looked pretty comfortable. Glad Mr Duck could join you. Thanks for the fun!
Go to Spruce Pine, North Carolina... You can find Emeralds, Beryl, Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Rubies, Garnets, and sapphires. You can easily pan gold from almost ANY creek, stream, or river, in that area. I was raised there. I am 67 years old and have found several ounces of gold, and dozens of Gem crystals, some, even on our property...
Yep! 👍Ya gotta go back! Great finds! I wanna see your big tourmaline filled rock when its completely cleaned up! You can tell Ashley she only found that beryl & aquamarine because she's used to looking into your eyes and has grown fond of that color! So, she found it because of you! 😆lol
Love your crystal hunting videos, hope y’all get to go back to these places when everything is totally open again. Also so glad Ashley took that big mama rose quartz! It was a beauty!
Yeah it's really cool when you find all those crystals love to watch it keep going I'm some Opals and other things go to different places that be cool please please take care and God bless can't wait to see what's next
Wow. Nice finds! I grew up in the Atlanta area but wasn't into rockhounding back then. Started once moved to Colorado and even then didn't find any great places - found some nice small quartz points at times. But this place looks great. We live in the Daytona area so not too far of a drive to this mine now. Any others in the southeast you suggest? :)
That's a big deal to me too. Because that's what makes them so amazing. Also it's mysterious and sometimes a bit scientifically controversial as well. Especially when they sometimes are formed by cataclysmic meteors and such. Keep diggin!
Ya like how does this spot have like 4 diff types of beautiful rocks? I would love to know the science and history behind that. What makes rose quarts form as opposed to rubies or diamonds.
Hey, Kyle, you guys found some beautiful crystals! Is the beryl more rare than the tourmaline? Ashley definitely has an eye for it! Please do visit here again! Awwww, and Duckman is a daddy...and a baby with tourmaline wings!!!
The Beryl is definitely more rare than the Tourmaline! Ashley did great finding it. I'm slightly jealous 😂. Duck Man loves his child very much hahahahaa
Saaweeeeeeeet clarity on some of those rose quarts, the b. tourmalines were cool(Dan's 3rd fine was near round as your finger, nice'n), but the aquamarine is my favorite(my birthstone). Best find has ta be that big matrix of yours. Did you loose your sole ? 🤣 Nother great vid/treasure hunt Kyle. 👊
Ahhh that's an awesome birthstone to have! That big matrix piece is my favorite find for sure. I want to find a matrix piece with even bigger crystals next time! Maybe I have to sacrifice my "sole" 😉😉😉
Amazing finds and so jealous of your geography. At some point can you do a video of some of the specimen you have as in the sort of museum quality finds you have gathered over the years.
I love rose quartz.keep doing your thing I love watching.im going to hog mine lol.i hit blue in blue ridge mountains.l look like blue quartz or Sapphire
I heard from Florida. Have you been to rucks pit down near ft drum, the ft drum crystal mine I think it’s called now? Super fun place here in Florida exclusive fossilized calcite clams
@@WILDKYLE You all are very inspiring to someone just starting out( just over a month) in rockhounding. Helps me learn and see the great things I can find along the way. Again Thank you from a Northern California rockhound newbie.
This was the first mining I ever did! 1966 and it was called The Big Beryl Mine back then, I found a huge clear piece of Aquamarine as big as the end of my thumb! Unfortunately took it to school where the Teacher was supposed to watch over it but it Disappeared!! Only got to go a few times after that and now that I live 45 minutes away I Hope to be able to go again after this mess is over!
Cool finds Kyle. The temp must have been sweet compared to JXR. When I was out there in May, I only found 3 pieces of Beryl crystal, but scored nicely on the rest. I might hit that site again 1 more time to give Beryl 1 more try. Did it rain heavy just before you got there?
holy.... cleaning up that piece must have been like Christmas! And careful, I'm SURE there are horror movies where bleeding on crystals can release a demon or three... ;)
@@WILDKYLE Did you find any BT's that were complete crystals (terminated with no breaks)? If not, then the next question to ask is why were they all broken up? I just love the mineral kingdom because it makes me ask all of these questions about why something is the way that it is (what geologic forces occurred that made these BT's not very big and most of them broken).
@@WILDKYLE a plastic 5 gallon bucket of water would be cool to wash off things. After seeing that cool one with so much I thought about what you left behind. Looks like there is water there, use a cup to fill up bucket and keep it where you work. Think of the things you will find and use the bucket to haul shit out later.
Do you pay to dig these places? And if so I need info! I want to plan a trip to a bunch of different places you guys have been to you your videos. I've also learned so much about crystals from your videos!
We do pay! They are only open at certain times so I would go to their Facebook pages to look at the scheduled digs. This one is Hogg Mine in Lagrange, Georgia and we dig Amethyst at Jackson's Crossroads Amethyst Mine in Tignall, Georgia!
FUCK !!! I found several massive chunks of black tourmaline a few years ago when we were working for a company by flattening a mountain for them with bulldozers and excavators. I found a massive vein of black tourmaline and took back at least 50kgs of the stuff only for my family to throw most of it away. Now I only have 3kgs left of it. All big chunks even wasted 300grams on making ring heads out of some of them.
Thanks for checking out my new video y'all! If you would like to help support the channel, I just added tons of items to my online shop. Check it out! ebay.com/usr/wildkylefossilshop
