Well wait this virus stuff and rioters been tearing up stores in places it's really killing businesses right and left like now some places up here in midwest is reclosing.due the virus making its return the second round and plus the wages are going up as well doesnt help..

We have or had a Golden Corral resturant in our town that closed July 17 2020 after being opened for 3 years because of covid 19. I drove by the Golden Corral onJuly 20 sign outside was lit up but no lights inside looked weird to me. Love watching your videos you and Kayla are just two down to earth people by the way Wallie I live in Kentucky and I’m a Steelers fan.

Damn, I am Shocked to see both family dollar and advanced auto parts closed. I once lived just down the street. My dads house lives less than 2 blocks away.

it was built brand new and open maybe a year, randomly shut down one day.
I love the vids, also I heard rumors that an Aldi and a Dollar Store of some sorts is going to be put in where the old K-Mart in Moon,PA, yesterday I passed by the abandoned Kmart in Moon PA and the front of the store is completely gone it's just the rest of the building. Keep up the amazing vids and I've been a fan for a couple years and I still will keep enjoying your content.
They are. Aldi and Dollar Tree will be the first two to open, and at least 5 more, including two outparcels that could, based on renderings, be a fast food joint and a bank.

Hey Wally. Just an update from Northern New York. The former Family Dollar Store at 249 East Main Street in Malone New York is now an advance auto parts. I didn't know if that was something you might want to check out sometime. Their former stores located just a couple of blocks east of there and as far as I know is still vacant.

The intro tho lol! Something sure isn't right here! XD I notice Family Dolllars like painting over the sign, even mine that closed in Cheyenne Wy is blacked out! I am surprised they didn't take the in and out signs off the windows as mine did. I love how there is an Autozone right next door!
The Family Dollar stores got bought out by Dollar Tree, Dollar Tree then closed Family Dollar stores in close proximity to a Dollar Tree in alot of cases.
Well the owners of dollar tree are crappy to their employees they had been losing employees every few weeks cause of their crappy hours and also giving them no help at all.

There was a news report done last year about how several family Dollar locations across the country we're going to be closing. Some here in Memphis to.
both buildings were open for maybe a year built brand new, the advance just closed down randomly one night with no notice prior. I had a battery warranty here and its no longer valid because they closed this location. Would have been cool to show you around here wallie!
also the family dollar couldn't compete with dollar general and kroger down the block, just like this advance failed to the autozone in terms of customers, but i cant say thats the for sure reason.

Google Maps shows the Family Dollar having a "Grand Opening" in June 2013...it also shows the Advance under construction in 2015 and open in 2016. The Auto Zone was there well ahead of both of them...pretty brazen to build the Advance so close to the existing Auto Zone..whatever local strategy they had on beating them obviously didn't work.

No they still here in the area. Dollar tree bought them some were converted to Dollar tree.
We have several Family Dollar stores in West Texas which are all open. Rare to see a former Family Dollar, least for me.

An Advance Auto Parts abandoned? That's a strange sight, even in this day and age. Judging by the sign in the window, could be overcrowding and it might have been underperforming compared to the others.
And yet...that specific location is still listed on both Google and the AAP website as being in business and open. Maybe it was just being renovated? Or perhaps a new operator moved into the company's lease of the property?
The Family Dollar closing was apparently one of around 400 to close in 2019, because of pressure from an investor. They announced the eventual closures on March 9th, and the Richfield Hills location was on a list of 143 put out on the 25th.

Same here, Advanced Auto Parts, Nappa, O'Reilly's that opened just over a year ago and a parts plus. Parts Plus and Nappa were in my town when first parents first moved too it.

I know that Dollar tree bought Family Dollar back in 2015 and closed like 400 stores & converted others to Dollar Tree that's all I can tell you though they kept all the stores open in my area .

Advance auto parts owns Auto Zone and Family Dollar is owned by Dollar Tree. The Advance Auto more or less shut down because it is almost next to another company owned store and the Family Dollar went bye-bye because there was a Dollar Tree really close by.
Not sure where you got your info from, Advance Auto doesn't own AutoZone, AZ is a completely independent retailer. AAP owns CarQuest and Autopart International, not AZ.
In my area we have an Advance and an O'Reilly auto parts almost as close to each other as the two auto supply stores in the video. That Family Dollar looks like the one near my home, which was built as a Family Dollar store. Family Dollar stores started popping up all around here a few years ago and it seems like they are everywhere. There are at least 5 of them within a 5 mile radius of my home. I don't know how all of these stores survive being so close to each other. A couple of them are like the building in the video, while the others are in repurposed buildings that were other stores. One is in an old Rite Aid, the other a former Major Video, and part of an old KMart. One is about a mile from my home and I only shop there is I need one or 2 items and don't want to deal with WalMart, meaning I don't have to drive as far and I can be in and out of Family Dollar in 15 minutes. That Family Dollar looked destroyed inside. It will need to either the torn down or totally renovated if something else were to move in. The Advanced seems like it could be repurposed for another business. Hope that happens soon. Nice video, keep it up.

More then anything there was a other auto part store down the road maybe they had Better Sales and custmors then this one so this one had to close down maybe But thanks for sharing this video buddy :D

I've not seen or heard anything about it recently between COVID and now the TX heat. They've been trying to get everything organized to sell out of the warehouse. There’s an abandoned Family Dollar and an abandoned Busters Bi Lo in Manchester Ohio
The only closed Family Dollar in my area is one that had its inside destroyed by fire. The outside is fine but the inside is trashed. The company decided not to reopen after the fire.

They should have never build that Advanced Auto there as there was already one 3 miles up the street in Haltom City, their hub store. This is known as Hwy 26 in general and up the street in the same block are the three big auto parts stores main hubs for Tarrant County; Autozone, Advanced and O'Reilly's. Putting one only three miles from the other did not work out for them, but the Auto Zone next door does for some reason. The O'Reilly's has one about 4 miles south a about a mile from this closed Advanced. In addition to here, Advanced closed a few other stores in October 2019 in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. They are relatively new to our area, maybe 2012-2014 they all moved in if I recall. I think they tried to grow too fast and that hurt them. I do not thin anything will move into these places anytime soon.
As for Family Dollar, no idea, but saw comments that Dollar Tree bought them and closed some stores. Both these buildings are new to the area. Advanced was a new building in 2014 and Family Dollar was a few years before. The property used to be a church.

Indeed. While it's sad to see the way Sears and Kmart are going, it's at least good to know that some of their iconic brands are being given the chance to carry on the heritage.
Not that they needed a store brand battery, since DieHard replaced AutoCraft for automotive applications (you can still get AutoCraft marine and powersports batteries).

Target could also be in the running, also selling such products, if they wish to expand their appliance offerings.

@@METALMAN4Wii That would probably depend. They've already got the Insignia brand on in-house small appliances, but having an in-house appliance brand would be good, especially for locations that don't have a Pacific Sales Kitchen & Home inside.
I doubt this is the case but maybe since the ceiling was dismantled in the Family Dollar, and since the advanced auto parts looked like it had stuff hanging from the ceiling maybe they both had storm damage. I know it seems unlikely and it probably is but with Texas weather hey you never know those building may look fine but who knows they may be just a death trap waiting to happen just saying.
Well with the family dollar stores theyve been in bankruptcy since 2016 and theyve been closing alot of their stores since then it's strange and those buildings are so nice looking so sad they are going to waste..

There was a family dollar not too far from me and it closed up I know before COVID was a thing it was built I want to say maybe 2005 ish and it closed I want to say 2017 maybe 2018 I'm not sure. To my knowledge it's still sitting empty
