Huntin' Catfish and Gar on the Savannah River | S1E06 | Das Boat
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 вер 2019
- Long river trips can take us deep into some wild places aboard a vessel that will carry far more than the basic necessities. In the season finale of Das Boat, Mustache Rob and Frank are back on the Savannah River in Georgia, headed more than 50 miles downstream into water that neither of them have ever seen before. It’s an exploratory mission, of sorts, though the Savannah is far from wilderness, and Rob and Frank’s journey is more National Lampoon than Heart of Darkness. At the terminus of their trip waits Wade Plantation and some heaping platefuls of southern hospitality. All Rob and Frank have to do is bring some catfish for the table and safely pilot Das Boat downstream.

These fishing shows are just as entertaining as all the hunting shows. Good job guys
You can't stop this series! How dare you?
These are great! Please keep it going.
Yes, keep em coming.
Is that the last one? I really hope not
Agreed!!! Please keep going!!
Maybe a PNW version! With a raft mayhaps even
Bring Das Boat to the midwest. Keep it's journey afloat.
Then Bring Her to the PNW, play on the beautiful Columbia River.
That would be such a good continuation of the series. Cover different regions in either the same boat or a new boat per region.
@@B-real85 yeah, hook a 15ft sturgeon and go for a ride in one of the prettiest places on Earth
I would assume the intention of this series was to continue it throughout the US and possibly Canada/Mexico
@@4paws.outlaws that'd be amazing if it went that way.
I love how this went from a fishing series for youtube to my favorite fishing show around. Keep it going fellas!
Such a fun show to watch hope there will be a DAS BOAT season 2👍
Hahaha there is!…
@@adamnickel And 3!!
I grew up fishing from cobbled-together boats. Nothing better than fishing with a buddy on an old boat. Doesn’t matter what or if you catch, but it’s better when you do.
Wow. The ending to this episode gave me entire body goose bumps. Well done Steve and crew. Wow.
Outstanding show ,you guys made me miss all my boats through my life's journey, from my aluminum flat bottom , my bass buster to my best girl my 18'9" 1985 Champion /V4 Evenrude that my wife made me get rid of by talking me into selling it and shopping for a new center console which 10 yrs later I haven't gotten. My boat now is my kayak I retire in about 6 months so I might just go get me that mako skiff I've always wanted but I do miss my gal " I just called her baby" she was good to me we fished lots of lakes in Texas and Oklahoma she was the best she was fast sleek take a turn on a dime, reliable, steady, honest and true. I saw sunrises and sunsets, full moons and the stars with her she kept me safe always got me back to shore. I miss my baby I hope she's making great memories with those that own her now.😢😢😢
That barbeque at the end looks amazing. Everything caught/killed/picked the same day of cooking, and all cooked up fresh
Ah yes! My favorite day of the week! when these come out, i stop everything to watch em! Keep the series up!
I love your approach on hunting and fishing. Its not about expensive gear or something new as we are lead to believe from the outdoor channel. Just get out and have fun. Your show is the only outdoor show I watch. Also with an 1 1/2 hour commute to work each way your podcast help take the edge off, gets me pumped for the weekends outdoor fun with my kids.
What a great trip so far with Das Boat. Frank and Rob were really entertaining. Beautiful land scape in Georgia's river system. Looking forward to seeing DasBoats' next adventure. Episode 4 was awesome, Two very interesting fisher people there. Big Bass Dreams and April Vokie very interesting and entertaining to watch. Looking forward to next time. Take care. We down in Cali.
Seriously might have shed a tear for this series ending....
Hate to see it end. Great series. Would like to see them continue all over the country.
After the das boat ends you guys should do a "Mein Yak" where you purchase 2 old kayaks and work your way from florida to maine. @MeatEater
The outro is amazing. Perfectly summed up Steven! Thanks for the series.
Season finale? You should keep it going.
now i want to get an old alumacraft and do some of these upgrades to it
The old used boat market has yet to "bottom out" buh dum tsss. I'll show myself out.
Steve R has a segment of the hunting and fishing population figured out. A segment that all others are ignoring. Great job!
What an Amazing series. So well made. I really admire their sportsmanship, only taking what they need and showing respect to what they released. Especially that beautiful gar who swam away without a scratch.
Great show. Need a West Coast Das Boat. Puget Sound to Baja!
Perfect Idea!
What a bunch of good guys to have the honor to call friends.Watching these people get along and have such a positive bonding experience makes me wish I had more friends just like this.
The end of the greatest fishing show of all time!! 😢 Hope to see season 2 go up north 🤙🏼
I loved this series. Thanks for making it and sharing it here on UA-cam!
Great series! Nice to see something other than grip-and-grin trophy shots and more emphasis on place, camaraderie and the pure joy of gear fondling. Thanks for featuring Frank. In addition to his legendary fishing skills and wacky humor, he is flat out one of the nicest, kindest guys in the industry.
New old boat, new local, more fishing adventures!
Bring on Season 2!
This was beautifully done and really a pleasure to watch. Thank you as usual for your amazing work and dedication to the outdoors. I'm going to restring my rod right now and strap my canoe to the roof!
Unreal series! Hope to see more fishing shows like this on UA-cam!
More Mustache Rob, please. Stache and Cal in a show together would be phenomenal.
this is by far my favorite series
Highly highly enjoyed this series. Kept up with every episode, every week. Happy to see some homage paid to our local Georgia waters!
If fishing the Flint River for Shoal and Spotted Bass sounds enticing, reach out.
So much for bringing fresh catfish to be cooked...would've made the perfect compliment to that meal. Hope you guys weren't too embarrassed. Mahalo and Aloha from the Big Isle "🤙"
Favorite fishing show ever. Really hope there is more to come.
Watching from Montrose, Colorado and recognizing all the Scoot Rods and Ross Reels logos! Exciting to see our locally made gear being loved and used down South!
I fucking love this country! This channel is at the core of why it has continued to succeed amongst many different varying types of difficulties. God Bless America! 💯🔥❤🇺🇲
I love this series. My 13 year old son is now inspired and actively searching for a boat with which we can do something similar.
This series is pure gold!!
Keep it going. Needs to go over to Alabama lakes, Tennessee river, MO, etc.
Man I would love to have that boat. Always wanted something that just floats and helps me get dinner. Nothing more then a good friend to take on the water. Won’t ask if we’re done yet or can we go home. Just relax and enjoy the sound of nature and let the daily grind melt away.
This is a Great Series. Thanks to all the People that filmed and participated, and thanks to Steve Rinella
Some of the best content on UA-cam. Thanks for sharing
Just a great show guys. So many varieties of people and fish. Good job!!!
Thursdays just became a sad reminder of how great Thursdays were when I could look forward to a new episode. I will have to watch the Meateater series for the 10th time now to make Thursdays great again.
Super happy to see Meat Eater Branch out to new shows. Keep up the good work. I teach survival skills for a living and whenever people ask me how to get into hunting or fishing. I always point they in your direction. No one else seems to capture the feeling or the culture I grew up with quite like your shows.
By far one of my favorite series on the internet. Well done.
Absolutely amazing series the writing and producing is perfect in every way.
This little series was one of the funnest things I've seen in a while! Great guys, great stories, and great fish! Thanks Meat Eater!
Absolutely loved this series and having grown up in Augusta, the last two episodes were amazing. Hopefully this continues with another season.
Dont let das boat die keep it going please. I've tuned in every Thursday sharp just for das boat.
I love Steve Rinella’s work! He’s videos just make me want to get out there and experience the wild, great work Steven!!
Huge thanks to everyone over there at Meat Eater Fishing Dept. I’m not even that much of a fisherman but damn I love this series and can’t wait to drop a line in Kansas!
What a beautiful series.
Thank you for this. I absolutely love the content you all are putting out with the podcast, netflix show, and youtube channel.
Such a great series with beautiful content. The commentary is so articulate, it really holds everything in the video together, the video, music, everything. A perfect blend to showcase the outdoors lifestyle we love.
Enjoyed the series. I appreciate Meateater making a series focused on angling. As a fisherman, those were my favorite portions of the hunting show, but unfortunately the media is a hard sell in many respects. I appreciate the work you guys put in. Thank you.
GREAT JOB!! I love these shows, more seasons to come please.
This whole series made me buy a boat :D Thanks Steve!
Fantastic series!!!! Can’t wait for the back 40!
Excellent series! Thank you Steve and all the other contributors that make MeatEater content.
Really enjoyed this series, thank you.
This was one of the best UA-cam series ever.
Binge watching all the Meateater series’s (if that’s a word?) and finally came across one from my state! Augusta (pronounced “uh-gust-a” Steve) is about an hour and 15 north of me as I am in Brunswick GA closer to the Florida line. Beautiful areas we have here! I hope to see Steve visit for more fishing (some sweet shark fishing opportunities in my area) or possibly some bucks. Y’all have renewed my interest for the outdoors and I am eternally grateful.
Awesome series. Best series I’ve seen on UA-cam in a long long time
Tinker Bell & Mustache! Nice Gar!
Enjoy watching these adventures. Keep em going!!!
Hell of a show, sir! Thanks for the content. We looked forward to your upload each week.
Thanks for the Das Boat series. Loved it all! Thats so much @meatEater
They need to have the TX guys from episode 2 teach em to cook that gar up right..That pig looks delicious tho & a fun trip & great show!
Y'all need to do this again. This has been a great little series. I absolutely loved it y'all.
Another great episode . I love that lady line They've just got to float 👍👍👍
Last line🙃
Thank you guys!
You’d be a fool to not make this series into something more. This is such an amazing yet basic concept
Hands-down no questions. This is my favourite series that has ever been on UA-cam. If you guys are coming to anywhere within 10 hours of Calgary Alberta I would love to be part of any fishing show you guys are doing. I like to hunt but I live to fish
Please keep Das Boat going! Steve, this was fantastic. Thank you.
Love this, MeatEater crew... wouldn't complain about a Das Boat: Paddle Edition with nothing but canoes and kayaks... just throwing it out there.
I need more of this show in my life
This was a really great series! Enjoyed every episode! But don’t let das boat stop there keep it going. There’s more water to explore in this country.
Great series. Love the hunting stuff and I’m an avid fisherman so this was fantastic. Keep the journey going or start over with another boat. Das boat should live on
That's it, they just gotta float. Love it.
Excellent show! Can't wait to see the more of it!
I might be partial being a Georgian, but this is the best episode so far. And, I agree, there’s a certain “Amazonian” quality to the rivers down here; especially as you get further south and closer to the coast.
THX FOR ANOTHER GREAT SHOW FELLERS
I love this format. Great adventure!
Meat eater content is the best on the internet. God damn. Makes me long for the river.
What an awesome series makes me fall in love with the sport and my old boat again.
That was a great way to end this season. I'm going to watch it again in my boat so she can enjoy it also. Please do another one and thanks for this one.
As my cousin would say "if a fish has your bait, wait for it to shit it out to strike" haha
another great episode, great job guys! Keep the series going, you are missing out on some of the greatest fishing in the North East, Mid-West, etc...you could fish for walleye or musky on that thing, just need the right conditions. Please keep the series going!
This gets better and better, keep'em coming
Loved this series and loved das boat! More das boat!
I see Das Boat, I click.
I am so not sorry I got rid of my cable. Now the search is on for a Das Boat of my own Thanks Steve and Meat eater crew
Ready for season 2! Best episode yet.
Really enjoyed this series. Thanks
Another great Das boat episode!!!
Great little series! Hope there is more awesome things to come
22:40 Got okra, peas, tomatoes, just missing the DAMN FISH
Anybody else wait patiently every week for these vids? Keep'em coming Meat eater!
So rad Steve, love the concluding thoughts in this episode. Boats have an incredible allure to the sportsman, there just so damn addictive
