@@engineer_cat definitely! im not an engineer in the same sense as him, but i have felt this first hand. im a software engineer and solving a problem the first time is ALWAYS the hardest. but if it ever comes up again, i already know where to start and can even reference my old stuff
One time my teacher needed to cut a piece of rope, and said "I need something to cut this" and about 5 guys in the class whipped out their knives (mostly cowboy types who probably need a knife on the daily) She instantly regretted it and told us all to put them away before she couldn't pretend she didn't see them XD

Wow. I've just discovered this series of videos, and what a journey you've been through! This is a textbook example of something that I would have picked up and never truly understood how many hundreds on hundreds of man hours of design and test and redesign and retest went into it. I wish I had been around earlier to see the beginning of the process, but I'll definitely be sticking around to see how it ends!

I've been here since the older videos where you introduced the mountain, good to know that your still chasing the dream. Hopefully one day I can buy one of these from you and hope you can change the balisong community, especially since there's no sharp edge on either side can make lots of new tricks that were only possible with a trainer.

I'm also disabled and unable to make much use of my tools and shop. However, your video took me on a trip in the Way-Back Machine --- Back to when people called me Mr Gadget --- because I was always making useful, and sometimes intricate, one of a kind, gadgets. Or doo-dads and watch-a-ma-call-its. Quite a feeling, isn't it?
I love watching your progress and growth thru youtube. I do wonder if you are letting the perfect get in the way of the good enough, simply stated get some product and cash flow going and constantly improve your designs. I guess it depends on your end game, however as this was a novel idea when you started its life cycle and hence its uniqueness is well into the cycle. Besides, for those close tolerances your not getting a Kern without an income stream. Great Job as always!
