Hey from the South Carolina Coast. Just bought my son the Chargriller Grand Champ for his B Day. I went out and got one for myself today. Have been smokin and grillin for most of my life. Great grill. Nice vid sir ribs look good
Doing my first burn today and hoping to be good for a first cook this weekend on my first ever offset. Watching your cooks to stem the excitement at work
I used to have a char-grilled offset similar to that about two decades ago. Good meals can be had on it but it takes practice on a thin walled off-set.
Yeah, the one I had before this one had thinner walls. It was a good smoker, but you are right... it can be tricky. This one is Char-Grillers latest model. It's quite a bit heavier than the others. I love it! Thanks, Big Lew!
I also like that Sugar Free BBQ sauce, but the problem with it not having sugar is it doesn't give any additional color to the cook except for it's original color. I know, better than becoming a diabetic!
l almost forgot about ya... here is a link to the chimney... www.chargriller.com/collections/accessories/products/charcoal-chimmey-2units-per-master-carton
Ha ha.. rookie mistake.. forgetting to thaw the meat. 🤣 Great looking ribs!! They beat chicken anyways. 👍🏻 First cooks can be stressful because of the uncertainty of how things will go.. you powered right through like a champ.. almost like you have done this before. Lol As always, thanks for sharing Ken.

You got this!
Learning a new grill or smoker is always a little intimidating, but you will have it down in no time. Good luck on that first cook.

I’ve always said if you can smoke some good ribs on our offset smoker with thin metal you can smoke on anything

Where can I get that charcoal chimney
I bought that directly from Char-Griller’s website. Later when I am at home, I will find a link for you. Thanks so much for watching!

@@KenRogersMostlyOutdoors Thank you Ken
I just subbed so I can see your second cook on this pit.
Thanks so much!
Hey man! Looking at this smoker vs the Oklahoma Joe Highland. See a lot of familiar channels that commented. New subscriber. Appreciate the video.
Thanks so much! I love this smoker, but I don’t think you could go wrong with the Oklahoma Joe. Both are good smokers.

What kind of charcoal do you use
That is Prime 6 Charcoal.
Looking good. If flip bottom plate over and push closer to firebox, you can get temps pretty even across the
Good advice, thanks!
Yummy
Thank you, sir! It was very good!
