Great no B.S. video. I'll be doing this job this winter.
Much appreciated Charles, that is exactly what I set out to achieve on my channel. good luck with your repairs..
Shows all the details of doing the job right the first time. Thank you!
@jimburke471, you're welcome and thanks much for the compliments on the video..
I enjoyed your video and thanks for the step by step.
Much thanks to you Richard.
Great video. You saved yourself a pile of money. I have Forester 2016 with 99 940 km on it. Few weeks ago I noticed an oil leak under the car. Tried to locate it, but that would
If its coming from the left or right side of the engine, this is most likely your issue.
Great vid to explain a very tedious task. Thanks for putting this together.
You've quite welcome'
Great work
Much thanks.
Thank you for the video
You're quite welcome.
Yes, the 2011 requires the lifting of the engine as well as the removal of the steel bracket from the manifold on the passenger side. Not difficult, but necessary. Thanks for the video.
You're quite welcome, and I appreciate the feedback..
Great Video My Man... Will be doing it myself and video will help a whole lot...
You're welcome, good to hear that it was helpful, and good luck with the repairs.
u r amazing to do this work basically one handed, BUT, hand holding the camera makes it shake so much that it is annoying to watch. Perhaps find a way to support the camera. (maybe there's a U tube video on that.) Other than that thank you for showing me how to do this job.
You're welcome and thanks for the feedback, will definitly work on that.
Good job
I appreciate you taking the time, much thanks.
Hello. Torking sequence? Thank you.
that's an easy google..
I have a 2012 year 2.5 Forester will it be possible to change it as you indicate or do you have to lift the engine ?
The 2011 models yes, but to be honest I'm not exactly sure about the 2012's.
I do t understand how you got the covers to lift right out I can’t get them out because there’s not enough wiggle room between the frame you seem to have done It so easily
What year and model car do you own?
I'm not 100% sure if you have to do this for this generation of Outback, but for my 2017 Outback, you have to line up the zero mark on the crankshaft to have enough clearance to remove the driver's side valve cover. Check out MrSubaru1387 video on his 2015 Outback. This is what he recommended. Also, be careful on putting TOO much RTV sealant on the gasket. You don't want that squeezing out inside the engine. Just a helpful tip.
How many mile this outback
115k at the time of this video.
My 2013 has 8 bolts.
What is the size of your engine? The one in this video is a 2.5L.
@@thediyyardie7192 2.5
The Forester and legacy 2.5 I know has 8 bolt valve cover, Outback I can't say I've seen that..
I'm pretty sure is 8, 3 on top and 3 bottom, and each middle have one.@@thediyyardie7192
My driver side was too tight to pull out.
its close but its doable.
Had to raise engine on both sides. More than a little tight. 2011 Outback with 2.5 L.
@@user-lh2yr2sk4oThe 2011 is possibly a tighter design than the newer models.
