Seeing Midir clean house like this made me feel a lot better about facing him on ng+7 and dying like mad all those years ago. He his a crazy strong and awesome boss that i found myself cheering for in this vid. 💪🏻
Extremely funny how Midir will casually stunlock literally any boss ever. I think part of the reason Malenia was able to win, beyond the usual factors like her lifesteal and Waterfowl, was because a) her staggers are very short, and b) half her attacks have hyper armor, and thus she can't be staggered out of them except by bleed/frostbite procs. Maliketh, on the other hand, he was mostly the usual business re: a shitzillion damage and also mobility, though Holy and Dark being the same damage type (just reskinned in ER) helped him a lot with the laser too.

Midir is my favorite of any FromSoft boss, it was absolutely delightful to see him dominate like this. The Dark is the polar opposite of the established church in the Souls games, and is certainly closer to Magic than any other elemental damage. Alternatively, it could have just been put in as Physical, for which there is precedent! In Dark Souls 1, "dark damage" dealing weapons simply dealt physical damage, as there was no fourth damage type. Legendary content from you, good sir! Keep up the good work!

You stand in front of him. That where you want to be, anywhere else you can’t really damage him. Such a simple concept but damn it made the fight amazing.
Not like Sif or Rat Authority where you could take a nap under them.
Actually on that note Kalameet and Sinh were fantastic too.
Fromsoft either makes crap dragon bosses or awesome dragon bosses lol, no in between.
For anyone who is wondering
Midir fire and dark attacks (laser) deals 999 poise damage and his regular attacks probably deals over a 100 poise damage ber hit
this is his natural strength and why he is very notorious in dark souls 3.
His poise is 0 and can be poise broken only by lowering his health to 30% and exclusively dealing damage to his head (the only boss that I have seen stagger him before is yhorm and that is very rare)
Looks like Midir laser deal holy damage seeing how little damage it does to elden beast and maliketh.

Maliketh defeating Midr with his signature attack and finishing Midir off by striking him from behind after dodging his charge, and then following it up with a triumphant roar as Midir collapsed, was probably the coolest moment in all of these Versus videos I've ever seen.
But I'm not even going to TALK about the level of disrespect Midir gave the Godskin Duo.

This is a programming masterpiece. Programming bosses from DIFFERENT GAMES into Elden Ring is beyond awesome
Apparantly From is using the same engine to make their games. Thus it's possible to import assets from other titles. This also Works with armored core 6 assets.
For all we know, the one making these videos could be working for FROM.
Same engine, like how you can mod stuff across titles built in Unity, or how Garry’s mod exists and is cross compatible with essentially anything built in the Half-Life 2 engine
Sadly the poise is a real disadvantage
Maliketh sliding by, finishing Midir, then roaring as Midir falls is pretty damn awesome.

I was surprised he manages to tank radahns meteor attack.
He didn't even care turning to finish Radahn off. He just killed him with a darkess infused "fart".
I’m not. Midir is super resistant to fire and Radahn’s meteor is fire. Mohg can rank it the same way.
Tbh it almost seems like he only got hit with the tail end of the attack
It's because he wasn't facing it, if it hit head it would have been insta kill
@@purehollow nope even if it hit his head worst that would have happened was he goes into phase 2. Outcome wouldn’t have changed at all. Like I said he has very high fire resistance.

Yeah it's because ds3 was balanced on a basically non existent poise system so the values are insanely high, the devs apparently didn't want you to facetank midir's attacks so they just made his fire and laser attacks do 999 poise damage
It seems he can't be staggered either.

@@virael3801 Why should it be possible tho? The player's grab attacks (lifesteal fist and inescapable frenzy) don't work on bosses either and just like the player Godfrey is a tarnished too so I think it's fitting that he also can't grab bosses.
@@Demokaze Godfrey with working grabs is just the standard for BvB battles because he's nerfed without them.
Lorewise, he should be able to grab 'most' bosses since he has the strength to obliterate the concrete floor with his barehands, but I'll say Midir wouldn't be one of them.
Seeing Midir clean house like this made me feel a lot better about facing him on ng+7 and dying like mad all those years ago. He his a crazy strong and awesome boss that i found myself cheering for in this vid. 💪🏻
Elden Ring bosses: *esists*
Darkeater Midir: Fuck you.
Maliketh fights are way more fun than Malenia ones
Maliketh permanently loses HP while Malenia just goes Hurr durr life steal spam
That and Melania can “choose” when to stagger, which is fucking wild to me
i think melania is just to small and maliketh does way to much damage
Soo u are complaining because midir cheat(no make sense poise dmg) was weaker than malik and malenia own cheats? 😂
@@PantheKaiMidir’s poise damage makes perfect sense. He’s a big ass Elder Dragon, and in Dark Souls you’re supposed to actually learn a bosses move set, when to roll, when to block, when to dodge and when to attack. The aggressive play style of Elden Ring will get you absolutely destroyed in Dark Souls, while the more strategic play style of Dark Souls means you’ll never get attacks off in Elden Ring.
Poor Mohg, having by far the highest fire resistance among Remembrance Bosses, still absolutely destroyed by Midir.
I feel as though most of it is because Midir didn't take ANY bleed damage, which really harms the amount of damage he can do
Midir, like a lot of ds3 bosses is immune to bleed. It's why bleed sucks in ds3
I mean, Mohg has really high physical damage. On NG+7 he deals about twice damage with single attack of Trident compare to Malenia for example. The thing is that he was brutally stunlocked by Midir.
If he had the true Nihil things would have been different

Placidussax is the worst offender in that regard. His nuke attack has a massive windup, stops the whole soundtrack... for a single tick of 700 damage. The flashiest "RUN AWAY" attack in the game does less damage than most of the regular mobs in Farum Azula. It needs a buff.
Fromsoft balancing. It also doesn't do the worthy poise damage to other mobs.
@@glorytoukraine5524It should be as devastating as Radahn’s meteor attack with how much buildup it has. It gives you so much time to run away.

Elden Ring bosses: my poise is broken
Midir looks beautiful in the Elden Beasts' area with the golden lights reflecting off his scales
Love how the Amygdala mechanic of “You hit my legs, you deal negative damage” can stand up to even Radahn’s meteor. Although it does really show how much damage Radahn can do that even with it hitting Midir’s legs, he still took that much damage
From the looks of it his damage got changed from dark to holy, considering how miniscule damage Maliketh took from it
Makes sense.. I guess it's probably the closest 'dark' equivalent in Elden Ring, considering certain 'dark' attacks in that game deal Holy damage like the Destined Death stuff.
I think it's just a general "Fourth element value".
I imagine the same thing would happen for Coral damage in Armored Core
Any death sorcery or incantation is the closest equivalent to "dark" is ds universe
Dunno, seems like bosses who are holy resistant still took butt loads of damage from him.
This shows how Godfrey without his insane poise breaking potential isn't that flashy in boss vs boss fights.
Midir is literally the only boss this wouldn’t work with because he can’t be stance broken.
@@iamMildlyUpsetWithMostOfYouTub nobody said that there's another boss with infinite poise. Midir is my favorite of any FromSoft boss, it was absolutely delightful to see him dominate like this.
Just as a comment, though, I would definitely not have selected Holy as the analogue to DS3's Dark.

😂was that ever in doubt??? Maliketh will kill anything within 12 hits because of his insane regular dam and percentage hp damage. If he does his flying destined death attack its 50% to 60% of any hp bar gone 😂😂
Destined Death always dominates in these boss vs boss matchup videos because it doesn't do fixed damage, it drains a % of the total HP pool.
