In educational systems maths and IT go together for some reason. Because I sucked at maths, I was denied entry into IT at high school and university levels because of this. My IT career started at age of 30 when I got my CCNA. Wish I have done this sooner. Best Regards.
The UNIVERSITY I am enrolled in a BS in Cybersecurity retired Java programming language. They replaced it with Python ! coding language. Therefore, Java in the world of IT education is dead. We also must register for a course in Data Base coding. On the associate level in IT, they do not require coding classes or data base when I earned an applied science degree in Network Administration and Computers. Yet, when move up to the BS degree IT, coding is required so is math. but I already had a Doctor in Pharmacy and had several math classes -statistics and up through Calculus.
I am not a It professionel. but i think Mathematik self is less important als the mathematical logic. You dont need math, but can bee a boost, or you learn the premade knowledge wrote down in languige of math.
A FRIEND THAT HAS BEEN MONITORING MY PROGRESS IN IT EDUCATION HAD THIS TO SAY about IT. Throughout the next 10 years, IT will be upended. I ADDED BECAUSE OF artificial intelligence. Yes, he stated. I watched a pod cast featuring a Cisco executive. He stated AI is now in every cisco platform. It will make every thing much ,much more efficient with little human it experience.
Your dropping bangers back to back my guy
Being able to read and read critically is one of the most useful skills in IT.

Forgot to add that Elis videos helped break the fear of being too old to start IT 8 years ago

How much time would you say, on average, that you spend on the TPS reports? Chat. Chat.

Just do IT administration. No maths required. Stuck with a formula for a script or excel task? MS Copilot or ChatGPT will help get you a formula.
Properly going to be hard. But who know. Maybe there's some savant out there that can break all the "rules"
