Thanks for the CT4-V (non-Blackwing) content. It is sooooo hard to find any content on it, especially that now the Blackwing is released. The regular CT4-V content has dried up. From everything thing I've read it is a very good driver's car. One of the best handling of the compact/subcompact sport sedans, especially the RWD version with magnetic suspense. Hope to see it more on this channel. Would love to see it compared against the Audi S3, Golf R and Alfa Romero Giulia. I think one of the bigger problems, at least in USA, is that the CT4-V and M240i XDrive start around the same price. The M240i is significantly faster. and I wouldn't be surprised if the interior quality is better as well. So if you don't need the back doors and back seat space then it's probably a better buy. EDIT: Also the Genesis G70 turbo 6 is in the same starting price range of CT4-V.

The M240i gets to 60 and 100mph quicker, gets through the quarter mile 3 tenths quicker (at 2mph slower in awd form) and they both reach 130mph in the same time. If the M240i was rwd, it would have a higher trap speed and be quicker. At least those are the best test numbers on the stock cars.

People compeletely forget about them but theres a lot of mid tier cars out there that don't get the attention they deserve. ct4 V, 230i, CLA35, S3. All these cars absolutely kick ass and they get overshadowed because they aren't the full spec trim or not as cheap as something like an Elantra N. I have a 230I and it is difficult to find good content on it. Mostly a buch of youtubers saying the same thing and reading off the same spec sheet. While I did go BMW, the CT4 V was also on my radar when I was shopping.
CT4 V 2.7T RWD magnetic ride (only the RWD version gets the brilliant magnetic ride suspension) is one of the most underrated cars and a bargain. Also Supercruise (best driver assist) is now optional for CT4.
The ct4v awd version is actually 3760lbs curb weight so little more impressive given the weight difference. The torque really holds it to be competitive, but the rwd model is slightly faster and has mag ride.

it’s so interesting all these major manufacturers came out with the same transmission type in their sportiest cars. The 10 speed is a common denominator in the Explorer ST, CT4V & CT5V including blackwing models ,Accord 2.0, Escalade V, Camaro . It’s very clear they were onto something with this transmission type because all of these cars launch off the line adequately.

The roll races are a great example of how gearing can really make a difference on the ideal start speed. A lot of Hellcat owners pick 60 because it will downshift in auto and hit an ideal gear for peak performance. Any other speed and you really need to know how to manually force it down or you’re likely going to lose. Great races and this was a very good matchup. I was very surprised by the results.

The interior of the Cadillac look well built. My 22 CLA45 interior is loose with creaks and rattles and I am at 1400 miles. Pretty much the same as my older 17 C63S Coupe so guess it’s a Benz feature

I think the Acura Type S should have been in this one. All three would have been great to see run against one another. Even though type S had about 30+ more HP. It's heavier. This was a great comparison.

Nah gm 8 speed is fast as hell, cadillac just tuned yours to be gentle. Go drive an 8 speed camaro or corvette. They are actually tuned for performance.

I own a ct4-v! 2020, I beat a lot of things unexpectedly 0-60, especially if I’m in launch control I’ve even beaten a lot of stick v8’s as they spins lol , evo/wrx killer , but any v8 beats me at a 60 roll unfortunately and that showed here . It’s not geared high end at all . Electronically limited to 140.
It look dated in this video because of the angles .. if your driving past one your gonna look or someone else’s car in the parking lot . The face of the car makes you wanna touch the headlights because there so long

Most German companies underrate their power figures. The 100+ pound lighter CLA35 probably makes roughly the same horsepower as CT4-V in real life and already "claims" a 15lb ft of torque advantage which may be slightly higher too.
Cadillac doesn't get enough credibility because they toy with greatness and then retreat. Previous generation ATS and CTS came out with everything needed to be reckoned with. Then their replacements (CT5 and CT4) come to market with dorky and wonky styling and marginally better performance but in the overall they don't push the marque forward.
Roughly 100 pound difference, 23 hp difference, way more torque and still gets out pulled by the Mercedes on the top end ... back to the drawing board Cadillac

The Caddy also has a bigger capacity engine 2.7 as opposed to 2.0. It's fairly balanced out
CT4 is fighting a price class lower than it really is, it's essentially a redesigned ATS which used to be in the C-Class/3-series/A4 size bracket.

You pointed out something I noticed with my Cadillac ATS premium 2.0T is that Cadillac trans is good but badly needs a dual clutch.

The 4 popper in the CT4V has incredible low end torque. It does fall off around the 5800 rpm range, however.
