- From earlier in the year, late November 2021 you join us in this episode checking out a new Cafe that had been recommended to us called the NY500. Its on the A169 in the Yorkshire Moors area.
Turned out to be a cracking place and very popular with bikers and car enthusiasts alike.
After a good look around there and a VERY tasty bacon and sausage sandwich we continued on past Pickering to the beautiful village of Thornton Le Dale the home of Bangers and Cash as seen on TV.
I also have a massive fail trying to entice a new lady pillion passenger onto the new machine LOL watch out for that.

Great to see you all out and about again. That cafe looked great, see they had a Ford Capri in there, brings back great memories from the 80s when I owned a JPS Special 3.0L

I had this in my Watch Later list for the longest time! Nice little ride out, beautiful villages and great location. Should have a video out some time soon of a tour I did near that area last year 👍

Hiya. Please please can you help me. I brought a garmin zumo xt and having watched some of your great adventure I’m trying to do some routes but I just can’t work out garmin basecamp. How do you set it to avoid motorways. My basecamp only lets me click state highways to avoid yet it keeps taking me down motorways :( I need some help. X
Hi Lisa you should be able to set avoid motorways on your actual sat nav (you can on my garmin) but ticking major highways and interstates might do it.
But to be truthful you are better off plotting your routes with shaping points, this is how I plan all my routes and this video should help you step by step to plan your own. Its not hard when you get used to it, hope this helps lady X

I was there on Sunday and it was packed. They had a Mini owners meet and there were some other nice cars - an Aston Martin, a couple of Porsches and a Maclaren. Couldn't get a brew as the queue was out the door and round the sitting area.
They must change the vehices on display - where the red Reliant Robin was in your video, they had Colin McRae's Ford Focus rally car and there was another with one Rydell, Reid and Menu on the window. The bikes were different last weekend too.

Hi Steve and the lads . It's been a while since I watched a few blogs but I'm things took a change for the worst . I went into remission but three months later the big C came back and although I'm feeling fine it did my head in knowing the damn thing had returned. I'm just starting to get back out on the bike it was costing me the earth in polish staying at home .would love to come back to the UK but my specialist says no no not yet .Also my cousin in Hagworthingham is not very well she has gone down with breast cancer .You people take care ,stay safe . Not read all ya comments, but there is a favourites button on ya left hand side shaped like a diamond. You can use that for your heated grips without going into ya menu , brill video keeper coming 👌

I went and it was greasy and overpriced. Never again. I literally had to wipe the grease off my sausages and egg with knapkins.🤢

From where you were parked In Thornton le dale by the young lady, a couple of hundred yards on the left Towards scarbados is beck isle cottage , worth a look next time your there.

I have a 2002 R1150RT which I purchased as a stop gap bike 3 years ago.

Steve you can set your heated grips as your favourite the you can simply press the * and it takes you straight to the heated grip menu.

Steve, answer me this.. What camera, computer and software do you use to make your vids please!?!?
I use the Drift Ghost S as main camera, Drift Stealth 2 as dash camera and just my laptop to edit using Sony Vegas 14 software. Hope that helps my friend.

Just because you mentioned retiring to Thornton le Dale, where you parked about 50 yards up on the right are the old Alms Houses which are given to the local OAP's to live in at peppercorn rents. Just FYI :) Enjoyed the video as usual thanks buddy.

@Steve Clark Yeh, the burgers and skin on fries are great, so are the breakfasts.
They change which cars and bikes are in there too so there's always something different . It's probably the best place around!

Hi, in relation to your heated grips you can set up a favourite short cut in the menu, so it’s just a quick press on the favourite button and it takes you to whatever you have set it to. I used to have my heated grips set so I was straight there and only one more press for the heated seat. Hope this helps?

Steve, I have the "Favourite" option on my menu button set to the SatNav Screen. To get to my "Heated Grips" menu quickly I quickly toogle the menu button upwards to go the SatNav menu and then down to get to the Heated Grips menu. Hope that helps.
So simple why didn't I think of that have just been in the garage and actually set the heated grips as my favourite. Thanks for that Hymek one press up and straight to grip settings, TOP TIP.
Can't you can set up the heated grips on your left controls to be your favourite...a little diamond symbol I think, just press that and the menu goes straight to the heated grips setting

Smashing video Steve, I’ve been to Malton and Pickering many times but never spotted that cafe, but it’s on my ‘to do’ list now..! FYI, Eden Camp was originally a prisoner of war camp but is now a wartime museum. Worth a look around if you’re passing.

i did same as you pal got shut of my old rt but i got a brand new s1000xr te what a bike she is going touring around scotland in june got a base camp in moulen nr pitlochery

The aforementioned Teapot and Lamb Chop weren't overly impressed by the Magpie if I recall.
What a great ride out. I was with you from the Humber Bridge to Malton as I took that route on my way to Scotland back in September. I must try to get back to Yorkshire next year.

Great video and ride out guys. Eden Camp was originally a WW2 prisoner of war camp holding German POWs. Quite a number of them stayed in this country after the war ended, some with quite successful businesses. Ride safe Steve. 🏍🏍👍👍

Nice to see the RT out, i would note that i have never found it an issue accessing the menu for the heated grips or seat, hardly think about it anymore. I suspect it sounds worse to anyone who hasn't tried it.

David where the menu button is on the bike that you click through the options with there is like a diamond symbol on the top of it. That is the favourite part of the button so click bottom for menu and when you reach the favourite you want press and hold the top diamond part and you have now allocated that menu item as your favourite. Now every time you tap diamond top part your straight there, hope that is clear enough mate.

Quick Question bud, I have a remote for my GoPro, but it cuts the battery life down from an hour to 20 mins cos of blue tooth, so I stopped using it. how does the ghost remote affect the battery on the ghost camera ? before I buy one. stay safe my mate.
Mark the main reason I never use gopro's is the really bad battery life. Get the remote for the Drift as the battery life is brilliant literally hours and hours from one charge.

We were up there in October for a brake, just bought a GS but nearly got the RT like yours but ended up with the Triple black
The Eden camp is well worth a visit it's a former POW camp for Italian and German prisoners and now a museum

I live in malton and lived in Thornton Dale for 19 years. They are all my Sunday roads. Eden camp is well worth a morning out. You missed a lovely road that cuts out pickering. On to Thornton. But great video

How is your drift footage so clear! Not seen anything as good at all as I'm looking for a vlogging cam...
Hi Emma in answer to your questions I use the Drift Ghost S as my main camera (not made anymore) which you can get on ebay or the new Drifts are all good. I prefer the Drifts to GoPro's for the battery life which is amazing on Drifts at least 3hrs on mine more on the newer one's, plus the Drift has adjustable lens so you can mount them anywhere on your helmet and then just adjust lens accordingly, where as with GoPro you need all sorts of brackets and angled things to mount it at correct angle.
Yes the GoPro is a little better quality than Drift but as you have commented my 1080p footage from the Drift is very good. Hope that has helped a little and good look with the vlogging, ride safe Emma.
