It has definitely help me keep my calm. When I received my USB and read the instructions I was pissed off at all the steps required just to update the map. For the amount of money we pay this should be a single step all done from the uconnect.

UPDATE - DriveUconnect website no longer tells if your system is up to date or not. *It will always say your system is current!*
Regarding the specifics of what the USB drive in the small box was was to update the GPS system in my Uconnect which is Separate from the UConnect system update and Maps update. So there are essentially three components to the UConnect. MAPS, GPS and UConnect System.
If you don't have GPS currently I believe you can ADD GPS to your Uconnect with this same process as I am pretty sure the hardware and antenna is already in place. When you submit the information the price will add the cost of the maps update to the cost of the GPS Navigation License. - I am not sure how much they charge I THINK it is $500 but if anyone has done this please reply below. - Thanks!
How was the data structures on the map update
Hang on to your map files you got. Garmin and unconnect will stop supporting your software after your car reaches a certain age. I bought my son a 2014 Dart GT and the NAV map files were corrupt and wont load. I attempted to buy the upgrade for it and garmin says they no longer support the 2014 dart. Luckily, i also have a 2016 dart. Using the radio code off it, I was able to buy the map update and have them ship it to me. Its the same Uconnect, same firmware, same maps, same everything. Unless you have the 2016 Unit ID, you are screwed. Dealership will not help you either. Once you get the map files downloaded on your PC, you can use them where you need them.
Anyway you have the map files that will work on a 2015? I cant buy them anywhere apparently. Thanks

Yes, but I believe the nav capability is already there. Adding it can be done for an additional charge
You should try Android Auto with Waze though. It is very good
You might not even be able to buy the option. More than likely your stereo is like the rest of Mopar now and just has Android Auto and Apple Car Play instead. Much better since you always get up to date maps for free. Downside is you have to plug in your phone.

I did that on my dodge journey and I didn’t see system information I wonder why? I want to add the GPS on my screen so when I connect my google map from my iphone I can see the gps on the screen. So how do I upgrade or add the navigation if it doesn’t have the system information on my screen available even after I hold both up and down and the front frost.

You maybe right! I checked to find a grocery store that has been since 9-29-2019 and it did not know about it. I called and she said my map software was released in 2021 but was compiled in 2020.

After receiving my thumb drive my first day off work was Sunday and I started the install, but couldn't figure out how to get the "Activation Code". Once I wached your video it all made sense and I went online and got my code. I just knew some UA-camr must have had the same issue. Regards,
Great video yeah probably all the same man. Can you upgrade Uconnect to GPS? I'm getting a 22 challenger without thr GPS. Can you just buy the cable and install it yourself?
I believe the hardware is already in there, when I upgraded my maps it asked if I had GPS. I believe can buy the license to activate the GPS and the updated map all in one shot.
@Sky1 thanks bro. Yeah it actually just works with your Google GPS app. No need for the actual built in GPS. Plus it's dodge so you know it's not even gonna work right anyways
Garbage system! Good description. Better to connect my iPhone and disable this garbage map. No offence to the creator! I will not pay for something better and free!
true, I use Android auto and Waze more than the built in GPS but when we go to the mountains where there is no internet in several place I have to use the conventional GPS.
Don't you have to pay to have them updated??
They did not charge me. Keep in mind I buy oil changes and tires there

Why did it say the Map Data was from 2019Q2? I thought you installed 2020 maps? also do you know what your Map Data was before installing this update?
My thoughts EXACTLY! I think by the time we buy it, it is already a year or two old!
This software update was driving me crazy! I went couple of days trying it over and over and over again and it kept asking me for more information that I didn’t know where to find finally I’ve got it all now I’m gonna try it again I’ll keep my fingers crossed but thank you for all your hard work in making this video. Here’s a little update I received two USB thumb drives in the mail it to spending some time on some with support on the phone they said “oh you got to thumb drives well then the one that we told you install first he’s not the one you should install you should take the second one which is a software update for the whole system and then install the Mabz! Well I did it that way and everything worked fine but their instructions really suck didn’t tell you any of that in the instructions they sent.
Thanks for your video instructions. Instead of keeping the engine running put a battery charger on the battery while doing the update.
If I'm understand the video correctly. All you need to proceed is an activation code to download the map updates. Is that correct?
The website needs to know what system you have in your car. It's not a one size fits all several versions were installed on these vehicles that is why you need to do go back-and-forth. Update U connect, Update the GPS system then an update to the maps.
It's almost worth it to pay the dealer $175 to do it while I'm at work.

I'm wondering if updating the map will fix my GPS issue I'm having. Ever since I bought the car, it says I'm in a different city and I can't get it to change and find me. So the navigation obviously doesn't work if it doesn't know where I am.
maybe it is showing the last known location? I wonder if it is an Antenna problem? Did you do a Uconnect update? Try that first, its free
I found this: Uconnect® Hard Reset Procedure
Press the hot and coup up and down buttons simultaneously for at least five seconds.
Scroll through the menu that pops up and select the choice prompting you to reset factory defaults.
Once selecting this option, wait roughly 30 seconds while the system reboots.

Did the map look any different after you updated the software?
I thought it did at first but not sure, I updated the GPS System then the GPS maps, I thought they looked different but I also selected a few more options in settings. So I don't really recall.

Did u notice any new features?
I saw some changes on how things are laid out but not sure which update did that. I got one update over the air which was Uconnect then one on the USB drive to update my Map System, then another one a USB drive to update my Maps and points of interest.
I did make some settings changes but not sure if they were there from before. So , sorry not sure, I know some of the screens now look like the 2021 Challenger like SRT modes etc.

Thanks for explaining this cluster. I followed it but where I got to enter the code, I had to put a "0" zero in the code, but the keypad for the activation had NO ZERO! Never again. Save your money folks.
Somewhere in their instructions on the website they said no L and no O letters like in a Vin
