Peterson is a master communicator.. I'm curios to see how he can take the more abstract concepts of bitcoin and make them accessible to more people in his own way.
If Peterson can master his understanding of Bitcoin's IMPLICATIONS and eloquently describe them to others, the world will be on an even quicker path to meaning, prosperity and freedom.

Too bad Keynsian Economics still rules this world. The biggest risk factor to bitcoin/crypto right now is still CBDC. Unless crypto replaces CBDC as currency it's very hard to see it's uitility as a asset class, since the raise and fall of prices closely reflect the strengthening and weakening of the dollar index rather than an inflation hedge asset like precious metal of commodities.

@@peiershen8221 It would be the exact same battle. CBDCs are dead on arrival in my opinion. A central bank has no incentive to put utilize any features of crypto that people value, and every incentive to create something that only benefits the central bank and the state. You'll end up with something easy to see, easy for them to access, and easy to inflate with the only limitation being how fast they can type zeros.

That part resonated with me as well. It reminded me of spiritual truths experienced and described in the Christian faith. I would think of that as a non spiritual way a person could describe what happens to them when they are “saved” and come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. When the one that is saved is enriched by learning they are loved unconditionally by and infinitely worthy God, that you are made in his image and are an image bearer and are endowed with gifts that you are called to use to reflect God’s character to the community in which we live.
I love Jordan Peterson's interviewing style. He says: 'this is what I believe, tell me why I'm wrong' We would all learn so much more if we conversed like this.
Imagine if all the radical left interviewers, especially angry females, could just interview like this. Would raise t(e bar of today’s journalism by a lot. Hear people out instead of going on attack model which has been so clear in the past from everyone who’s anti JP. Who somehow get offended by everything he says. It just sounds ridiculous and immature when any person acts like all the tools have done that we’ve seen interviewing Mr Peterson. THIS is how people should question others theories. Let us make up our minds instead, the listener. We’ve become dumbed down by the media but should always question what we hear. Listen carefully of what’s being said and think it through ours keeps, only then are we close to form our own opinions. 95% of “opinions” or more, are just misinformation, learnt from corrupt media, marxists universities etc.
Jordan. You have been so tough full on how you ask questions and provoke them to them. And you see the amount of respect that you get. Not ask. And you got mine too. We are all in it together. Oh God, another Sunday, another heavenly JP experience. I feel like a Greek novice philosopher sitting in amphitheatrum listening attentively to Socrates and his disciples.
Im highly impressed. Went into this not liking conversations about Bitcoin particularly, but the level of knowledge about topics in economics really was above my expectations.
99% of the talk about bitcoin, is noise. 99% people don't understand bitcoin, so you must be careful who you give credit to. I promise you, the overwhelming majority of those who ACTUALLY understand bitcoin, are "all-in." The thing is, many bitcoiners are quiet, private types of folk. Look at Gigi ffs, he always wears a green suit. But anyways, point is, if you look hard enough, you'll find the people who actually know what they're talking about. Once you really tune in on the signal, you realize 99% what people say about bitcoin has been debunked a thousand times over, and is still parroted, non stop for years. "History shows that it is not possible to insulate yourself from the consequences of others holding money that is harder than yours."
This is what I expected for so long, the fact that bitcoin reflected jordans work, but I never put it in these words. I think I will have to take a week and listen again. It's so significant.
Thank you for this Jordan. The only thing I would say is that that episode featured 4/4 pro-bitcoin activists expressing their opinions on bitcoin. I would really like the next episode to have half the panel be bitcoin sceptics and hear from them, only to balance things out and have more perspective. This discussion was unilateral with no counter objections on the general idea of bitcoin. Thank you!

@@glynsmith60 Essentially, unlike the Keynesian school (which is followed extensively today), the Austrian school believes that the Free Market is the way to go (i.e a market without any govt intervention)! It believes that the primary role of the govt is to make sure people get their rights, fullfill their responsibilities and make sure no one lacks in opportunities. Also, w.r.t to the subject matter, the renowned F.A. Hayek has said the subject is such a complex one that saying that one has totally mastered/grasped the subject is a foolish thing to say! If anyone finds my point to be factually invalid, please do correct me :) this is what I've understood from a bit of reading!
The best description I ever got on what is money and how it functions.. absolutely brilliant discussion. Really appreciate JPs appetite to explore the new domains.
I already hate the Austrian School just from what I'm hearing. I actually really didn't like this conversation. To me it felt more like ramblings than real explanations of things. It sounded murky rather than clear..
@@Squillholland To me, referring to it constantly as the "Austrian School" is really more of an attempt to give fiscal conservatism cachet over other economic philosophies. It's the way they're mesmerized by this particular economic theory that drives a little nuts. There are other economic theories. I don't think value is determined by the individual, as the Austrian school appears to posit, but rather that it is *measured* by the individual - and this is a key difference. I actually think there is an absolute utilitarian value in everything at the *most* fundamental level. It's just that it's impossible to measure this accurately. And, I can see this fallacy in their own thinking, describing sacrifice AS value rather than recognizing that sacrifice is an individual MEASUREMENT of value. The big confusion in that is that someone could love doing something that almost everyone hates, and that person would produce a LOT of value by doing what they love. There's no sacrifice in this scenario - only the creation of abundance. This is the secret that will one day liberate us all, but no one has figured it out yet. I think this conflation with value and measurement of value is exactly why they believe crypto is valuable when it fundamentally is not.
@@hellomate639 No of course the price, to put in a more accurate way, is not determined by individuals, but a projection of a collective consciousness, a dance between the seller and buyer; it's the same as if many same individuals determine the value. Also, "utilitarian" and "inherent" is fundamentally conflicting with each other since utilitarian implies subjectively, and inherent implies objectivity. Value only exists at subjective level. If a depressed person committed suicide it's because he's value system is highly diverged from our common value system. Only money, a projection or of value is objective. Regarding people will love what they do, have you ever heard of people hate their hobby when it becomes their job? The cognitive science suggested that external motivation would corrupt your love for things. A most famous story goes by like this: an old man lives in a quiet country side, but one day a bunch of kids play around his house, break his quietness. Days go by, but it seems that this is a great place to play and they won't go away. So he had an idea. He calls these kids around, and tell them to play here more because he miss his grandsons, and would give them money for that everyday. Kids of course are very happy about that. So they would come here every day, and old man would give them money in the afternoon. After a week, he stopped give them money. Of course you know what happened next, the kids goes "we won't play at your place for your enjoyment ever again!" Economics and finance are fascinating because they seem rational, objective, individual in our experience, but there's also a huge component of irrational, subjective, and collective levels at play.

Unless crypto replaces CBDC as currency it's very hard to see it's uitility as a asset class, since the raise and fall of prices closely reflect the strengthening and weakening of the dollar index rather than an inflation hedge asset like precious metal of commodities.

After the podcast I listened to videos regarding Austrian economics, pretty interesting
@@hellomate639 you are welcome to your opinion
Of course you know what happened next, the kids goes "we won't play at your place for your enjoyment ever again!"
Economics and finance are fascinating because they seem rational, objective, individual in our experience, but there's also a huge component of irrational, subjective, and collective levels at play.
I'm only 10 minutes in, but thank you! Thank you Jordan for facilitating these kinds of discussions. Especially around a polarised topic such as cryptocurrencies. The media & social media have kind of blurred the public opinion of this asset, it's nice to cut through the noise.

I'm really loving this intersection of ideas, Jordan! Your ability to remain distinct and draw contrast from their statements to yours is refreshing, instead of simply adopting their stance and using their language. I'm invested into both crypto and responsibility, so I'm super happy to listen!
I like the sound of that. I'm invested in responsibility 😁
When Jordan says he knows little about a subject he still knows more about it than most people
Wow this is by far the best Bitcoin podcast I’ve ever listened to!! I would frame this and put it in my wall if I could!!! GREAT JOB GENTLEMEN!!
Here I am a 19 year old, nodding with these 4 highly competent, successful men while Dr. Jordan speaks his ideas.
It's incredible how these guys are able to make you see the depths of meaning of something as seemingly mundane as prices and money
Have to see Jordan on Breedloves what is money series NOW. Have to see just these 2 speaking for hours
I was not expecting something so brilliant! Everyone here made such interesting points I've not yet heard, which is saying a lot I assure you... Hope to see these guys on your podcast again soon.
Wow! Fascinating. I came here to learn about Bitcoin as I don’t understand much about it. I am blown away by the intelligence of these men. I had to stop and rewind many times in certain places to have a better comprehension on the subject! Love it! Thank you ♥️ This concept is so profound.
It cracks me up that you can see the light in Gigi's sunglasses that's supposed to help give his face the correct lighting all the while having his face hidden
Without the light you'll get shadows on your facemask, which will mess up the 'invisibility' -- but it does look really funny in the glasses :)
Lmao
Is there a reason for his set up?
I need to watch this like 10 times, these guys are so damn thoughtful! Dang this is crazy good. Thanks JP!
This format is fantastic. Much more enjoyable and the topic is extremely interesting.
I first listened to the audio Podcast version of this episode and now I came back to the video version, after the meeting with the legendary Saifedean Ammous that Jordan recently had. Having JBP as a member of the Bitcoin community is EXTREMELY important. His contribution to the orange-pilling of his massive audience will be paramount.
This was literally the most interesting conversation I've listened to in a long time, thank you 😊
