That definitely doesn’t look like a lot of fun, but we give you credit for giving it a try! At least they provide you with plenty of power and the tanks, but for sure would not use that “fresh” water for any consumption! Hang in there!!
Like we always say we will try anything once but this is definitely not for us or the dogs..lol. We do appreciate the set up they have given us for sure and for the most part everyone has been very nice that is on site. Ya we don't use that water for consumption even with our filter set up at all.... yuck!

We are glad we got to experience it but it definitely is not for us and the dogs told us we cant' do it again...lol. We don't know how you all did it in a smaller RV with the sleeping shifts, it was hard enough with our big RV. Safe travels.

Probably too late for this gig, but for future adventures, Avon Skin So Soft works great for bugs. Even Noseeums. They also make wipes and a spray called Bug Guard plus. Either works fantastic. I personal like the wipes the most. Unfortunately we always run out because my wife keeps selling them to our neighbors at campgrounds. lol

Oh my gosh! You both are so funny swatting the bugs. It’s not funny but funny if you know what I mean. I hear you on wanting to quit and the reasons why. That’s not a fun job! Dogs know when they aren’t having fun and let you know and they probably knew you weren’t having fun either. That’s sad it didn’t work out but at least you gave it a try. Ugh I couldn't do it. Sounds like they told a lie so you can leave. Get yourself some captain Ron's bug spray it works great for the noseeums.
We are not sure if it was intentional or just the person initially was misinformed and then passed that information along to us, either way it is what it is. It isn't awful just not for us. We will have to check into that bug spray because the one we have doesn't seem to do anything that is for sure. Thanks for watching
We have heard gate guarding can be boring and you confirmed it!
It is extremely boring. We aren't sure how some people do it for long periods of time. It is almost like being on house arrest..lol.
I'd like to know som of the other logistics of the job. How far do you have to go to get groceries. Are you being paid on a 1099 or W-2? Cna you work for other companies or are you tied to one company? What are the qualifications to be a gate guard?
We plan on releasing all that info in another video but here is the information...
We are lucky and this location is rather close to town so we can be to a Walmart within 10 min. We are paid as a contractor with a 1099. Once you obtain a Security License you can hold up to 4 companies at one time (so if one company doesn't seem to have the right fit you will have other options). Basically to be qualified you have to pass a background check, have finger prints taken and take a 6 hour class and pass the test at the end. Other than that it is relatively easy. Looks like your gave it your best and it's not for you. We are in our 70's and this is our 3rd winter gate guarding. We have worked plenty of frac's and entered and exited every vehicle and not just waved them by as you are able to do. I hope you find something more enjoyable.
Wow we can't imagine having to log every sand truck that comes in and out, we are grateful that this company doesn't want that. We are glad we tried it and now we know it isn't for us. We have met a lot of people who love it. We always say we will try anything once, it definitely was an experience. Safe travels!
