Robin, you're such a great teacher. Thank you so much for sharing. I finished my 2nd Smiley granny and another on my hook. I had fun and excitement while making it. Thank you
So Nice this Smiley!!thanks SO Much for sharing this lovely lesson, sweet Robin.Besides I enjoy a lot listening to your English, My friend!! 🌹🧶🌹🍀🙋🏻♀️🇦🇷🇦🇷
Love the smiley 😊 I’d go with the yellow circle on the back I think. I would sew a face on to that circle too then sew them together using the black circle round the edge. That way you’d have a face on both sides 😂
So sweet and happy! I kinda like the horror show - lol - but I understand why you'd also want to line the finished blanket ;o) I've never lined a crocheted blanket but I'd like to learn how to do that properly.
I followed this tutorial from @WindingRoadCrochet for lining my blanket - here is the link 😀 ua-cam.com/video/_i0ZAYGy-nM/v-deo.htmlsi=6Mf-N7SbPnlUW9E0
I am brand new to crocheting. I came across your festival blanket and decided to try it. So far I have completed several granny squares and now I just did my first smiley face. I am not sure what I did wrong by the smiley face is smaller than the others. Is this typical? Thank you for taking the time to make these videos!
Hi robin. I love this smiley face square as well as the polka one, I think I would like to use both of them in an Afghan. I would like to know please if both squares are the same size. I am a beginner, thank you for helping and for your tutorial.
Robin thank you thank you for sure a great tutorial explanation that's easy to follow even for me as a beginner! ❤ Question... If I was to use this as a base for a blanket do I repeat the half double crochet row or the single crochet row or a combo of both on alternate rows to make bigger ?.. Thank you
1 down, 4 to go! I'm glad to see the time for the round 7 timestamp in your chapter list. Is there any chance you can update the video's chapters so that one is clickable too?
I just made this following along with the video and mine came out a bit wonky cause I accidentally added an extra stitch here and there but it’s still cute and my 5 year old will enjoy throwing it around tomorrow. I’ll try to make more with the Correct amount of stitches.
I really love your videos and they are helping me a lot! I have a question though, I want to make a blanket with that technique, not granny squares. Think of it as a single huge granny square. I haven't found any videos of that, your smiley video is the first that is going in the right direction. If I am continuing with the circles, would I need to add for each round another single double crochet? I would continue like that: My round 5 would be 2 double crochet in the first stitch and than 3 single ones. ( I hope you get what I am trying to explain)
Question - it looks good like when you join at end of round, you are going in the back loop to slip stitch and then going in both for 1st stitch. Is that correct?
Is there a smaller version of this square? Or would if be feasible to cut the stitches into have the amount and go about it that way? I guess that makes sense? 😅 I want to use this to make my daughter a sweater and want a smaller size possibly to use as a little pocket. ☺️ It would be so stinking cute (she's almost 2)
What yarn did you you use? Is it cotton? I love the thickness and I’d love to use the same yarn if it’s available in the USA. My yarn is more stretchy and doesn’t hold its shape 😩 struggling
Hmm that shouldn't be happening - do you have naturally tight tension? It might be worth trying a 4.5mm (or maybe even a 5mm) hook to see if that makes a difference?
@@HookedbyRobin ok got my smiley faces done. Just six more squares to and then I can put the blanket together. I got my graph how to put it together done. Iam using the sc method to put it together. I am using black yarn
Well iam at my last row of my hippie blanket it is 6 rows long and 6 rows wide. Now I am going crazy with solid and regular granny squares. I am going to 24 squares around the blanket then boarder it off. We're can I send you a pic of my blanket
Ok so now I got the boarderdone which consists of row all around of 1/2 DC a row of DC and two rows of sc. I am topping it off with picot stitch working slow but getting it done. My next project will be a ripple scarf then blanket. I want to do the beaded blanket to.

Try and aim for 2 loops if you can but ultimately, do whatever is easiest for you, it doesn't make a massive difference xx
Do I have to crochet a lining for the back for coaster ? Tq

Hi Cathy, yarn information is here: www.hookedbyrobin.com/blog/festival-pic-n-mix-blanket-crochet-along 😃
I think the back of the smiley looks like a Nirvana smile.
Haha yes!!!
🤗
Where can I buy the pink pin?
I have made 2 of these and with both when finished the circle pops out. How can I fix this? Am using 8ply yarn & 4mm hook
Hmm that shouldn't be happening - do you have naturally tight tension? It might be worth trying a 4.5mm (or maybe even a 5mm) hook to see if that makes a difference?
You can use this pattern to make the polka dot square
Yes 😃

What size hook are you using
Hi Olga, use the recommended hook size on your chosen yarn ball!😃🧶
How come I got 29 stitches for the 3rd round ? Please help where did I go wrong
😍😍😍😍😍

Oh, yeah!!!
Wouldn’t it be funny to put “sh*t happens” on the back side if it was for a cushion?😮😂😂
