    I'm learning so much from your videos father. In what seems to be lukewarm catholicism in most other places, whether it's on prayer, or any topic really, it's a true blessing.
    If priests in general were more like you, churches would be packed, not only on Sunday mass.
    Thank you!

      @@TheFofotron That is the truth. I once asked why is the Catholic Church always being attacked by the secular media. Answer. The devil only attacks the one who threatens him the most. The Protestant is already doing Satan s work so they will never be attacked. Today however Pope Frank is being glorified by the Cabal which means Fancis is not Catholic in heart. He is doing everything to change what was created by Christ

    I would need a spiritual director to understand levels of prayer. I heard someone say that meditation/contemplation is like a song you cant get out of your mind, and I do that a lot, plus saying my regular daily prayer regimen.

    Very interesting! My natural way of praying is mental prayer. I struggle with "regular" spoken prayers. I can't focus of them. I am deeply ashamed to say it, but every Mass, Rosary, and other formulated prayer is super hard for me. I immediately lose my focus and start to repeat words just for repeating words. 😕 Only when our late exorcist was saying the Mass I was really "present" . I really feel guilty for being like that... . I struggle with CPTSD and some phobias, so maybe my mental/emotional state impacts how I pray in such unfavourable way. If I try to force myself to pray the way which is difficult, I either end up totally "disconnected" from my thoughts, or angry. And then I feel even more guilty 😕. I suffer from PTSD since childhood, and my primary caregivers couldn't comprehend my "unwillingness to pray". So the reaction was that God will punish me for not praying or something like : "I won't pray for you anymore!". And it was adding to my trauma. I also think (maybe I am wrong) I may have some form of ADHD. In general - routine and forcing myself to do things I don't feel like doing is very difficult to me and it complicates not only my prayer life, but life in general. Lord, have mercy on me!
    Mental prayer is extremely easy to me, I can pray like that all day long.

      Suuuuch a helpful and relatable comment. I find that really digging into the Rosary and changing my posture (on knees, sometimes with arms out in Crucifix, or in front of tabernacle or Adoration) and meditating on the mysteries really helps, but it doesn’t always. Sometimes it’s dry and that’s ok! St Terese said the rosary for her was like wearing a hair shirt 😂But we do it out of duty and that’s ok! But yes your comment is so relate all to me. I did not know that routine is hard for people with ptsd, that’s extremely insightful and valuable for me to learn, thanks for sharing.

    There is a shocking difference between both masses; I see how I am fully in prayer and fused with Jesus in the real mass. I feel levitated and consumed in that momen. It’s like time and space slows down and I am in Heaven for two hours. I hate when mass ends. I just continue praying or silence in me. A bomb could go off next to me and I am not bothered…the other mass is empty and I had no idea what I have missed all my life.

    • @missstarrynight7736
      @missstarrynight7736 Рік тому

      Both masses are real. And about your perception - I had the same feelings (not the right word, but I don't know how to name it) during ... Novus Ordo mass, but only in one situation - when it was said by our dear late exorcist. He was a man of extraordinary humility, kindness and love for Jesus. Oftentimes after such mass there were other prayers (for healing i.e.) and after 3-3,5 hours I was sad I had to go home. Now I struggle with staying in a church for 1 hour :-/ . I literally feel like I have agoraphobia. I can't understand how it's possible.

    Is the purgation in Purgatory identical to the process of advancing through the nine-levels of prayer minus the merit?

    • @escopiliatese3623
      @escopiliatese3623 2 роки тому +1

      Based on what I’ve heard Ripperger say, no - it’s similar in terms of the pain of loss and mental anguish, but not physical pain - Purgatory is less protracted and you have no choice in the matter, thus is more intense and infinitely more painful.

  • @timr2007
    @timr2007 4 роки тому +6

    At about 11:40 or so. you say how you need to pray for something specific. Indulgences for those in purgatory, in my ancestral line is what I pray for. If Mary thinks differently (conversion of sinners, reparation for sinners, etc...), the ball is in her court. Am I correct here?
    I am listening to this a second time now.

    • @vschraa6137

      Yes, but he said also to pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance in what we should pray for. Gradually, He gives you "desires" and we "hear the still small voice" and respond.

    1:40 Quote from St. Thomas "Prayer gives expression to reason." What about prayer from where it counts - the heart. " Jesus Christ, son of God have mercy on me, a sinner."
    From Thomas, "pray when you are supposed to and not when you "feel like it?"
    Why not pray whenever you have the chance? Why is that emotional and therefore suspect in Thomas's eyes? Why is the heart subordinate to the intellect?

    • @ChristopherMarlowe
      @ChristopherMarlowe 4 роки тому +6

      I think it would be good to clarify terms here. We can think of the heart as our emotions, or we can think of our heart as our will. If we subordinate our will to reason in prayer then that is really good. For me, emotions are tricky things. I might feel emotion about something that is false. I might even feel very strongly about it, but it will still be false. e.g. A fictional character in a movie is sad because he is being persecuted. I feel sad for that person, and I might even cry. But praying for a fictional character would be unreasonable.

    • @Steve-ft2oo
      @Steve-ft2oo 4 роки тому

      You make a good point. One can reasonably disagree about how to look at Thomas's view. We must love the lord with whole heart, whole soul and whole mind. Where one begins and ends is beyond me. I still think it would be a mistake to rank the three in some kind of numerical order as it seems that is what Thomas does on prayer.

      I think it is because the devil has access to our physical body because in the Fall, Adam and Eve sinned through their senses: looked at fruit, touched it, tasted it and so on. They put themselves and us under his authority to some degree so he can effect feelings and our cognitive function. Reason and will, on the other hand, are spiritual and the devil has no access to our spirit. This is why we notice our feelings but subject them to reason lest we be fooled into false assumptions.

      No worries, Ruth! To me, mental prayer is naturally easy... but every "classic" spoken prayer like Rosary or even "Our Father" and I'm in trouble, because I lose focus. I have no idea how you, people, are able to pray this way! To me it's like climbing Mt. Everest!

  • @mana7412
    @mana7412 Рік тому

    Btw, to what degree would you say the devil is involved in distracting us during prayer?
    During an exorcism in October 2019, Belzebub admitted to Milano bishop Don Ambrogio Villa, that he distracts anybody praying the Rosary through thought insertion
    Does that go for all prayers, or is the devil mostly focused on the Rosary?

    Is saying a Hail Mary or an Out Father in your mind without localizing mental prayer?

    • @janeraybow9328
      @janeraybow9328 4 роки тому +5

      Dunlaps' Dugout Jukebox Tunes I’m a new convert and learning about this, as I understand it, vocal prayer is a prayer you say out loud or in your mind, that is a formula, already written, like the Hail Mary, St Michael prayer, Guardian Angel prayer.... Mental Prayer is your own personal conversation with God or the Angels and Saints, that you also say out Loud or in your head.

    I have had many debates about reception of Christ on our knees vs the hand. They say Christ gave himself to his apostles on the hand, so why the fuss about the differences?? I prefer on my knees out of love and reverence for Christ. Yes bishops scold us for it. HELP PLEASE......been praying alot about this

    • @KpOL27

      Knees+tongue you intented to say I suppose ? On the knees to express reference, exactly. On the tongue : 1)to make profanations as difficult as possible to make, 2) to avoid at best a loss of a parcel of the host, which would deshonorate our Lord 3) only the hands of the priest are consecrated, while all the tongues of the faithful are already in someway consacrated, because in the old rite of baptism, salt is put in child's mouth, along with exorcism prayers, to make in sort that what is going out of our mouth is pure.

    Please help satisfy my desire to see these lovely churches! At time stamp 28:21 there is a most beautiful and amazing interior of a cathedral with predominantly blue and gold decor, but also hints of red on Christ our King. Does anyone know the name of this amazing church/cathedral? And the location? TYVM in advance, my fellow Catholics!!
