I know what you mean, but I'm a firm believer that God gives you the priest that He wills for you at the present moment, but we are all so blessed that Father Ripperger makes his talks available for everyone around the world to listen to. Remember to pray for him, that's how we can show our gratitude

"They look at the vice, and it causes them sadness, which is okay...but they fall into this thing of 'oh I gotta get rid of this I gotta get rid of this' - no, what you need to do is turn to Christ and ask him to get rid of it." 28:17
"When you see a defect in yourself, what you need to do is forgive yourself for you past sins." 29:00

I suffer this and it got so bad I formed a severe case of OCD. I started getting horrible blasphemous thoughts I couldn't control and the most impure things you could possibly imagine as a constant barrage I had/have to fight off. I still suffer, but when I decided to stop trying to be perfect and let God fix my messiness, it started calming down. I wish everyone could hear this message because you can give yourself some serious mental health issues with this mindset.

Use the search on the Sensus Fidelium channel, if you type in "temperance", the first result will be a lecture on temperance from a series of lectures on Cardinal Virtues by Fr Ripperger

Im trying to find a book that can list all the imperfections and the virtues to practice countering them , do you have any recommendations ? I tried reading the practice of Christian perfection by Rodriguez and found it hard to navigate

In the catholic school system it is the contrary of virtue that they are taught. It is brutal. Teachers and administrators punish the student who has much respect for others including teachers. It is not something that primary school children can take every single day. It's not like switching school will help as one is just as outrageous as the other.

Catholic schools have not been Catholic for decades. Unless a parent can find and afford an SSPX-MC or SSPV school, the child should be home-schooled, if possible. The late Bishop Sheen said in the 70's, that a child would be MORE likely to lose his faith in a nominally Catholic school than a public one.

The biggest problem with perfectionism is that everyone has their own idea on what that should look like based only on what they know about themselves as a human being that is just as unique of an individual as everyone else is.

@Rodrigo Francescon He was wrong to make that judgement. No one knows where Aristotle is. There has been a lot of debate about "virtuous pagans" historically, but the answer will probably not be known until the final judgement.
