How to press plants

Included is a brief history of plant collecting. Also covered is an introduction to collecting in the field. Then the method of operation of a plant press, all of the components, and the reasons for the operation.

Easy way to press - materials are lots of newspaper, heavy weights (like big books), heavy cardboard cut to size (the kind that has airspaces, very important).
On flat level surface place 2 pieces cardboard, several (10+) sheets newspaper, arrange specimen, several (10+) sheets newspaper.
Repeat all above until specimens done. Put cardboard on top, then put several lbs. weight evenly on top. 👍

hey. thanks for the info. just wanted to know. what can i use instead of newspaper? is paper towel alright? i tried looking up in google. cant find anything.

It seems like turning the strap 90° across the ribs would provide the best weight distribution and be better for the press.
