Talking good on my dart 180s! Yeah I seen the price jump but I bought them a few years before they went up so I got the pair for $1300 and change assembled but now I’m reworking them with your advice slowly and making them better. I’m still really glad I got them I think they are such a beautiful head and already out of the box super nice but the more of your videos I watch I can find little things to do here and there so thank you so much for content

i had ported a set of ik200 heads about two years. heads flowed 290@.700 on the intake, and i think the exhaust port was around 210@.700. the port didnt really stall but never checked after .750 lift. personally i thought those where good numbers for a 2.020 deal. a set of old track1s probably back in the 90s i did flowed around 320ish @.800, but thats also a 2.080 or 2.100 valve. nice heads none the less.

I’m glad you’re showing the differences & reasons! Almost every street small block that went out my bosses shop, used those Dart heads! Someone’s really dicked the dog 🐩 on that deal 🙄! There still out there running with no issues! But when the prices went up! We stopped using them! Especially when your trying to build a custom engine where there not way more expensive than crate engines! Even though you know a race shop putting a street engine together, is way better in every way over a crate of slammed together box 📦 stock parts! Anyway great video! I never thought 💭 you would have almost 9 thousand more subscribers than our friend MBE Matt 😂😂😂😂! I’m guessing most people looking 👀 for there own heads, really have no idea 🤷‍♂️ what goes into a real max effort race head! You know what I’m talking about! With the Coated ti valves, the 55$ seats, ect ect ect! Have a good week, cannot wait to hear the Thanksgiving story 😜😜😜😜!

I really like the jist of the underlying subject. Port volume counts where I come from.
In the past my experiences were better with Dart aluminum than the rest in regards to weld repairs.
There were many cylinder heads that I was able to nurse through quite a bit of adversity.
Dart would hold on to the heat treat better than any of the rest. Brodix I would call a close second but I would never force that subject between the two.
It is the subject I bring up when considering offshore castings and factory castings. The heat treatment on that aluminum is scary after weld repairs have been done.

I came back to this video after watching the IK215 review. These budget heads have lots of potential, as Eric states. My observation is the smallest port that flows the same (the Dart SHP heads) is going to produce the best torque curve due to increased port velocity. To be smaller, the port has to have a smaller cross section, and that means higher velocity at the same flow. A fatter torque curve is going to make a better street engine. Whether that’s worth a few hundred bucks is the next question…

You should be good. Those are pretty much bang on with a 4" bore - just blend the ridge out from their valve job top cuts where you find them as noted in vid. Go to 0.030" over, and you can probably tease a tiny extra amount of unshrouding on cylinder wall side of intake - don't get greedy. [Not that intake has any problems]. The 200's like a 4.125"+ bore and have no business being on a 327..

Quick general theory question. At the 7:38 mark you can get a great view of the port taper into the pushrod pinch from the cnc entry. For an average customer that would just bolt on this head, is the taper making the port worse than if the entry was just left closer to the same size as the pinch and not cnc'd? Hope that made sense how I asked...Thanks for the awesome content!

I remembered this video while I was looking at heads on summit. The Profiler 195cc
Performance Products 176-19-14-93 is $1,075.00 per head. The Brodix IK180 is $1,139.99 for a pair of heads. The Profilers are almost twice the price. Has Profiler gone the way of Dart as far as pricing? Or is this just a supply and demand issue in these strange times we're living in? (Rhetorical question, you don't have to answer)

Instead they are sold as each and the price is $1,075 per head from summit. Are they still worth the cost ? The brodix ik 200 is $1,142.66 a pair.
