Wow that’s looks gorgeous and good value. Never thought about stuffing the thigh. Thanks Mandy. I’ll try that. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Very helpful and enjoyable.
Fabulous.! Turkey not just for Christmas. I love it when Mr Taste Tester comes along... I noticed you were using a Ninja knife. I didn't know Ninja did knives, I think I will check them out. Thank you for sharing 😊😊
Great videos I watch these and think of yeah haven't made that for years and it inspired me to make them the bacon and egg pie was great forgotten about it so thanks for the inspiration keep up the good work 😊😊😊😊😊😊
That is the business Mand, I've never thought to bone n roll a Turkey leg but what brill way to feed ya family and save a bit of dosh, I take me hat off to ya.😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That’s a fantastic buy from Morrisons. It would feed us all week. And then stock with the bones and trimmings for turkey broth, yum! This looked delicious and I love the potatoes coked like that. xx
Hi mand, didn’t realise a turkey thigh could make such a lovely dish!I’ve never tried potatoe Boulangere that looks lovely and I love kale another wonderful dish mand . Love Marilyn❤️
That looks lovely, will be going to Morrisons on Wednesday, so will have to get turkey thigh. Bought one a few weeks ago, still not sure what to do with drumstick tho, any ideas? It's in the freezer at the moment, waiting for inspiration. Thanks for recipe, as always, looks delicious
you mentioned apple crumble yum yum yum i lived in usa for a while got introduced to what they call peach cobbler its basically apple crumble but made with peaches its nice you should try making it its yummy
That looked delicious, you did great boning out that thigh 👍 I can never do the butchers way either with the string 🤣 my lot won’t eat dark Turkey meat but I’ve done this with pork loin , and breast meat joint , no one likes sage and onion stuffing but love sage and onion roast spuds , par boil spuds as usual dip in seasoned flour then egg mix with garlic in it and dip in dry mix sage and onion , roast as normal with plain spuds too , honestly delicious . Looked a fab meal Mand great video 👍👏
That looks delicious, you did a very good job of deboning the turkey.I never see thighs here, legs yes.Its funny how big that thigh looks when you are stuffing it,then how small as Ian carved it,his hand looked bigger than the meat.I had never heard of those potatoes, and it’s actually the first time seeing that recipe made,I think I would like the top bits, but I’m funny about potatoes,I like mine stodgy,or dry,I don’t like gravy on potatoes.I think stuffing a turkey thigh is a very good idea, you have a lot of interesting recipes,so thank you for showing us.😊
I swear by a stainless steel spiked carving platter for cooked meats - mostly so I don't end up chasing the joint around the kitchen! Best Wedding present ever.
Aww this looks so good. You remind me of my mum. In the way you cook Mand. ( believe me this is the highest of praise from me)Traditionally Aussies aren’t big Turkey eaters. So when it first started being sold in Australia, because people didn’t really know what to do with it, it was plentiful and cheap. My mother with 5 kids to feed, then later 7 (when my cousins became double orphans) would do the traditional Sunday roast with it or do anything we traditionally did with chicken. My favourite of all the Turkey dishes was soup made out of the bones from the roast. It makes a much deeper tasting broth than chicken. With all the veg it was pretty healthy too. Oh and creamy Turkey Fricassee, Fettuccini or Tetrazzini. Anything with cream, I’m sold. Thanks so much for sharing.
Another fabulous meal from you both! I bet there's a well shod Lord and Lady somewhere who would almost bite your hands off to cook like this for them. Nothing fazes you, and as another commenter already said - such a wide repertoire! Drooling here! x
Thank u looks great meal n turkey stuffed 😊 many years ago had wkenk up newcastle my friends mum was great cook like yourself .we had something never had again it was witj our lunch on sunday .pastrey onion n something else was so yummy do u no if it local dish 😊 from.karen x great vblog
My Cosori Prize has arrived and i cooked fresh chips and turkey burger with cheese coleslaw and i'm very impressed thank you again for putting the competition on your show .
Hi, love your channel. I’ve been binge watching. 😊 I just wanted to ask a quick question, why didn’t you use the mandolin to slice the onions as well? I mean, it’s already dirty, so may as well.
Hi I made your toad in the hole today. Turned out lovely only problem was I didn’t lower the shelf enough in the oven and it rose so much it got stuck in the oven lol
@The Dinner Lady I worked in professional kitchens and you butchered that Turkey perfectly and those Boulangére potatoes looked fab I used to do them for 500 people at banquets and yours looked ace .
So you got two joints out of that leg for under £6? That's really good when you think what we pay for a turkey crown? The skin looks lovely and crisp. It's great seeing you use underutilised cuts.
Hi. Im originally from Lancashire. When we were young our mother used to make welsh rarebit. We're ancient now and mum long gone but we've never been able to reproduce it as she made it! It certainly would not have had beer in it! She would rustle it up fairly quickly and it was delicious - do you have a recipe sans beer that is good? I live in hope!!! X
Roasted turkey bones make a great stock-if you've got the oven on for ages anyway, just chuck the bones in a roasting pan for an hour or two, then add carrots, celery and onions-roasting the bones first gives a really meaty sort of taste.
My mother would roast a leg or 2 with roasted veg and greens, something very similar to this meal So we’d eat that then make soup out of the roasted bones. Cooking the soup from raw Turkey makes a nice rich broth but cooking the roasted bones is on another level all together.
I would absolutely love you to do a video on Yorkshire pudding Mandy. I tried the toad in the hole and it was amazing and turned out fantastic but when I tried it to do individual ones for a roast chicken dinner they didn’t rise for me. I’m married to a man that had a Newcastle mammy. Bless her she has passed now and although I’m married 38 years she never shared the secret of her Yorkshires with me 😢. I’d love to be able to give him a Yorkshire like his mam used to. Xx. Love your cooking and Ian’s too. ❤
Looks great ! One criticism, Kale looks a bit raw. Kale needs a long simmer and I mean a long simmer with onions and stock otherwise the health benefits are not reached. Slow cooked kale release more vitamins and minerals. But you both enjoyed it, that is the main thing.
I absolutely love your videos, this looked amazing (apart from the kale lol I'm so not into kale) I have one request and I'm really not having a dig but would it be possible for Ian not to move the camera around so much when he's filming, it really does make me feel quite dizzy. If it could just be a bit more slow instead of in and out all the time, fully understand that he's not a trained cameraman but might be something to bear in mind. Thanks again for everything you do 😍

I just wanted to ask a quick question, why didn’t you use the mandolin to slice the onions as well? I mean, it’s already dirty, so may as well.
Because I was silly and cut them in half if I'd left them whole the mandolin would have worked haha I'm a silly Billy x
