Today we're unboxing a can of Hereford Corned Beef. This is a video about how to open a can of corned beef using the key thing that comes with the can.
I thought it was so long because he was making fun of me, so I grabbed some pliers, and now my hand's cut. And now it seems he has reason to make fun of me :(
Thank you for this video. My dad used to opened this kind of cans and he taught me but forgot how. And now I know how, daddy will be proud of me in heaven...
The chilling of the can firms up the contents so you can thinly slice it for sandwiches, Also stops the layer of fat on the outside of the meat from separating when you try and get it out. I usually put a hole with a can opener on the opposite end to the one you open with the key, as it lets the air out and stops a vacuum being created. The meat should just fall out.
**KEEP THE KEY** -- U can use it to open the grocery buggy carts that require a "loonie" (a $1 Canadian coin) to unlock it from the other buggy carts! 😉 For the $0.25-¢ buggy carts, use the key from Spam & Holiday luncheon meats (Too, the round end of some household door keys will unlock the $0.25-¢ buggy carts as well, but use old one just in case it gets stuck 😉 )
Cant believe I googled this very same brand of corned beef, mine broke off halfway and i have no no clue how to take these meat out, I am so hungry!!!!!!!!!!!
First you put it in the fridge so it's firm and not drippy. Peel off the paper before you attempt to open the can. Don't hold it in your hand. Put it on the counter to wind the key. Before you try to remove it, poke a hole in the bottom to break the vacuum seal so it comes out.
Glad what was shown in here worked. My grandpa wanted Corned beef and the can-opener broke so the only option left was trying the key option(which was hard to figure out since last time I tried it, it didn't work)
Did anyone else literally search for "how to open a can of corned beef" because they always fuck up opening it and break the key/metal ribbon thing? I think I have some kind of specific opening packaging disorder. Anyway thanks for the vid, mattalexto, it was genuinely helpful. This is the exact brand I have, too.
Take it out the can, boil it in water till it all starts separating then add gravy granules and use a potato masher then pour the meat gravy mix over mash potatoes it’s bloody lovely
These are a pain to open… I had a key break off half way and had to hack away with some kitchen scissors. But damn it is so worth it. I actually like how this guy does this video. ;D
Good job! I didn't figure out to turn the key the other way around and had a hell of a time getting into it. The ribbon ripped before the seal broke, and then getting it out of the can was hard too cuz I ended up using a can opener and cutting the meat out of the can with a knife. It was tragic.
This is brilliant. I know this video is six years old, but I'm subscribing now and demand no less than five new videos per week. Please make one of them about White-Out, because I'm not sure how to use it and the internet has been no help at all.
Dude, is the first time you have opened a can of corned beef? My 24 year old son had the same difficulty. I had to take time to train him. I am very proud of you for figuring it out on your own.
Most folks know that it's best to chill the can in the refrigerator before opening and poke a hole in the end opposite the key with a sharp knife before turning the key.
Poke st least eight holes at narrower top plain surface of can before opening so that the content can come out with just a simple shake. Not necessary to dislodge the last 2 mm of the 'ribbon' binder.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who searched this up I was feeling dumb before but seeing 270k ppl have no idea made me feel better
Lol
And i was looking for this exact comment also🤣🤣🤣
Now 306k including me
Me too
pro tip : watch movies at Flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.

imagine not knowing how to open corned beef
@@cumeater288 but why are you here?
@@kinggabrielle7771 i just want to see it
This video was helpful but I found it a little to short, maybe spend some more time explaining all about the can?
I don't think there was enough description about rounded corners.
I thought it was so long because he was making fun of me, so I grabbed some pliers, and now my hand's cut. And now it seems he has reason to make fun of me :(
Maybe next time read the label verbatim!!
Not enough mention of the can at all.
Hahahaha!
When I was a kid my grandpa would always put this in rice and give it to me. It was delicious
Well, when I first saw the key, I thought they want me to dig a hole from the top...........Thank you so much.
Me too hahaha
This is the internet, there needs to be an unboxing for everything! This adds one more item to the list, thanks :)
Thank you for this video. My dad used to opened this kind of cans and he taught me but forgot how. And now I know how, daddy will be proud of me in heaven...
Something tells me he already is proud
Tear the label off before opening it
This is good content to watch at night for some reason

Is this some kind of parody? Analysing the most trivial elements...?
+Thomas Norman Yes.
Yes
Thomas Norman, youd be amazed
I honestly had no idea how to do this. You saved dinner!
1+ subscriber and 1+like!
That's right, me neither. On my can, the strip was hidden under the label, so I had no idea how to use the can key that was provided.
It's only after watching this video that I looked for the strip.
I'm here because I don't know how to open it. Thank you for that! You're the only one that unbox this on UA-cam.
You have saved my life. I keep on trying to open it with the key attached to it but always end up opening it with can opener haha Bless your heart.
I always wanted to know how to open one of these. Now I know thanks!
I just bought some Hereford! This is perfect!!!! Thanks for your time sir.
All the talking is unnecessary

How this video has over 300K views, I do not know. It is very well deserved however.
Classic! Thank you!
I wondered how the can openers worked. I saw pictures on google of K-rations ww2 meals and the came with the key looking can opener.
Did you find this in isle 13?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
If you stab a hole in the other side of the can it releases the vacuum and makes it easier to get the meat out.
Thank you man
This helped.. tho the key only worked about 65% of the way... had to take a meat cleaver to open and cut through the rest, it worked!
Thanks a lot. You helped me a lot. See you guy
Yeah, he's helped me too. Cya
Thank you so much
herford is king when it comes to corned beef
Brazil is the largest producer of beef. Not surprising at all.
Thank you!
lol trolling hard
THANK GOD. I was too stupid to open this and used a knife with a hammer at the end

My favorite can of corn beef
There's a first time for everything. I just learned how to open this thicc can. (got two cuts in fingers)
I feel so worthless and dumb for watching this video 😂😂
This reminds me of a certain salad unboxing
I just searched tin can key to see that part I don’t know where to find more vids of it
We still have this in 2021
Do they make a low fat version regular gives me diarehia
The video isn't a how to video. It's an unboxing. I thought the can was pretty fascinating.
