I had a friend take a picture of me while I was sitting in a chair....the light caught the back of my head just right and I could see my scalp without it being freshly twisted. I went from twisting my hair once a month to twisting them about 4 times a year. That was about 4 years ago.....my daughter mentioned just this week how my roots look so healthy. Manicured locs are a Westernized form of locs.
this is y I stopped twisting my locs four years ago. I noticed my edges looked thin..just wash and separate every 3rd wash .now roots and edges are thick and plush..love ur videos.
I do my hair myself so it's good to see Jah has been blessing me with knowledge that i originally didn't know why i have been doing things the way i do. You are a blessing to us all!
Hi Yannie, I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now and I love how real you are. I have sisterlocks and I listen to EVERYTHING you talk about because the woman who does my hair tells me the exact same things you say in your videos! I leave my hair alone, I do not use products, drink lots of water, and let it grow naturally. Thank you!!!
in the first half of the video I wanted to cry for the queen. And the 3mos later it smells healthy...lol. I am a newly bradeloc'd and yes, I look at people on the Tube, but what I learned from just being natural is that less is more, if you cannot pronounce the ingredients, don't use them and take care of the inside to reflect your outside. I appreciate your knowledge, and styling should be either a go-to usual or on special occasion and please continue to keep up the good work.
thank you!!! I've learned so much from your videos. I've been doing my son's and your videos are helping me keep his and mine healthy. as a vegan I only want to do things on a healthy way. God bless you for sharing...
+Yannie The Locologist You refer to her hair as her crown, but she is so beautiful and simply glowing that it is better than a crown! I am a bit teary at how much growth she has, and it is so beautifully healthy too (especially considering what was at the start, and that she had traction alopecia, AND the stress that losing hair/will it grow back can cause -my hair shed because I paniced, and I'd wake up with hair coloured pillows and blankets!). It sounds strange, but this lady seems to grow her hair from her gorgeous heart and beautiful glowing soul, and not from the follicles on her scalp!!! She was even more gorgeously beautiful when I heard her laugh, it almost lit up the room brighter than the sun!
thank you so much sannie, since I came across your youtube, I have decided that I am no longer going to my loctician, because my hair was thinning and I didn't understand why but now I do, thanks to you. I'm looking forward to having healthy 'disrespectful' lots
Yannie the Locologist thank you for all of your videos, I would like to see much more from you. I live in California but I'm from Mississippi and getting somebody to do my hair out here is beyond difficult, hope one day I can come to the east to have my locs done by you, thank you and have a good day
i know this video is 1.5 yrs old, but her progress is inspiring! i don't have locs and i pray that i don't get any form of alopecia, but i'm natural and i'm learning from your videos. i'm in the process of just using up the products that i have, so i can get to a hair regimen that uses minimal products.
Thank you for sharing. I was so relived because I researched which is the best information...because I am locks for on year. I take care of my locks well because I have seen many people who do not take care of their locks. I found you via Instagram. I shared it with my friends. she was like wow. She thanked me and she knows how to take care of her locks. I really appreciated it.
Yannie you are God sent. My son started his loc journey and i am just growing my hair to start mine. I have learned so much from just the few videos i have watched but thank you again. God bless you....what do you moisturize your hands with omg
Praise the Most High healing hands healing hands. There's nothing else to say. Blessings and Love. One day Yannie I will meet you and have you bless my crown, I'm loose natural now but will start my journey soon.
Im so thankful I discovered your page. Its so wonderful of you to share your knowledge with the world. Ive been following advice from other youtube channels for products to build elasticity, doing the oil and water spray everyday maybe even twice a day. and probably interlocking and palm rolling every 2-3 weeks because it seemed my hair was growing to fast. Not knowing how much friction and damage I was doing to my hair. Now Im having a bad issue with my whole dreads being fuzzy. I will be trying the Rosewater and vitamin e oil as suggested in your other video. But how can I fix the fuzziness? P.s you have a very sweet spirit as well. Again thanks
Thank you Yannie for your informative videos. I have cleaned out my cabinet from various products when I first found you 6 months ago. I live to far and can't come to you but I am interested in how to detox my scalp. I have sisterlocks and have a few smooth spots in my head but I see fuzz. I am taking blood pressure medication. Do you have it posted on your website?
Hey yanie how do I know if I am using too much oil without washing I have heard of sebum build up clogging the hair follicles and am not sure how much I should wash my locs and how often to oil I live in Miami so it’s always hot
I just wanted to ask, if you don't suggest palm rolling, how should I touch up my daughter's locs, she is 10, and has had her locs since she was 7. I don't style it. I get it touched up every 3 months or so. But her hair looks great. Do you suggest interlocking?
Msjojomonroe Tropic Isle Living- Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Food-4oz use this to twist it. and check out hee website for different oils if you dont like that one
Yannieeee... what oils should i use in my hair? i have been using jamaican black castor oil and vitamin E oil and peppermint oil. to just maintain my hair line. My hair line is not receding much at all but i dont want it to get bad.
She won't tell you which oils to use she has one oil for each client to cater to their hair needs. She does like the ones you mentioned but she stresses only putting oil on the scalp
Hi yannie. Are you ever coming out to California. I live on the Central Coast. I would love to get some professional hair care. There's no one here to do my hair , and I am having hair issues.

Wow she has beautiful hands! I hope Georgia's hair grew back. I too almost cried for her when I saw the damage.
Basically people are afraid to have their hair looking "untidy" so they overstyle it and end up damaging it.
I don’t know what oil you have in her hair but it looks like it is life. You are a great teacher.
I do my hair myself so it's good to see Jah has been blessing me with knowledge that i originally didn't know why i have been doing things the way i do.
You are a blessing to us all!
this is amazing her hair is growing back from that!!!! Wow

This is so sad. I have a relative who lost all of her hair this way. She liked her hair tight and the so called loctician did it.
What 1 oil did you use in her hair to help it to grow back?

She said pick one oil yannie will not tell which one because for her clients they each have one to treat they're hair differently
WOW,LESS is BEST,I RETWIST ONCE A YEAR.
I just wanted to ask, if you don't suggest palm rolling, how should I touch up my daughter's locs, she is 10, and has had her locs since she was 7. I don't style it. I get it touched up every 3 months or so. But her hair looks great. Do you suggest interlocking?

So I will be starting braid locs soon... And I will start interlocking... My question is they say do your hair every 6 weeks is that to much?
ladydede88 yes that is too much. wash. cycles should be streched out into months.
ladydede88 use Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap - Peppermint 32oz to wash it. It does wonders.
and i use Tropic Isle Living- Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Food-4oz to twist mine.
Damn
