I’m gray all over and I loc’d my hair 13 months ago…. I get compliments on my hair all the time! Embrace your gray hair and love your locs! Once you start coloring your hair you’ll always color your hair. Locking my hair was the best thing I ever did. Everybody’s gray hair and loc journey is different. Yes!!! I wish I loc’d my hair years ago!! 👩🏿🦳♥️
👋 I'm 3 months loc'd with my grey and in love! Should've loc'd years ago. Our 50s bring lots of experience and maturity and just hoping that the young women coming up after us stop for just 15 minutes to listen to us. Thank you for keeping it real on your loc journey. I don't UA-cam my journey but I do have a journal and write down my loc thoughts. Look forward to hearing more from you. Peace and blessings
I love what you said about the little confusion being 50 and stricking a balance. I had to subscribe to your channel. You real, do you know what you have just done for some of us. BTW you don't look 50 one but. Please do more video, thanks you, nice meeting you. I am going to re-watch now.
I love your Loc's. They look fabulous 👌 Look at it this way, graying is a battle you can not win. I cussed the day I died my hair. I see so many beautiful Black women with their natural 😍 gray hair and they look gorgeous, so relax and enjoy the Journey. You look fabulous
It’s beautiful, starting my locs over again. After the damage I suffered from using rosemary and mint oil from meille hair oil. 😢I didn’t spell her name correctly. Now it’s hard to keep my hair (naturally grey since childhood. Now my journey starts again and try to regrow. Thank you for taking us on your journey. ❤
I big chopped (final) 2 months ago and my grey hair looks good. Some days I thought about coloring it but I know I'll regret it if I decided too. I'm 41 and honey I'm seriously over what society thinks...
Don’t use beeswax the buildup will terrify you. I’m 54 been locked for 4 years and embraced my grey. Your hair will be so healthy and beautiful you will continue to be grateful you let it go.
To lock my loc's I have my loctician to use fruit of the earth aloe vera gel. It's fabulous it's Crystal Clear no itch, no buildup dries quickly I've been using it for years
@@gailpdesigns I saw where you commented on one of his videos where you stated that you could do the photography if he did an event for 50 plus singles. Since I like doing photography, your comment caught my attention. As I proceeded to look at your UA-cam channel, I was hoping to see some of your photography. But instead I saw a beautiful black woman with beautiful short gray locs. I wish you much success my sister.
@@shamalama29 Ohhh Thanks so much!! Yes I love photography and all things creative! I have photography on my instagram @gailpdesigns not much but a few items. Let me know what you think. Where can I see your photography?
@@gailpdesigns I got rid of all my social media. I kept my UA-cam because I use a lot of my photography in the videos I make . If you wanna see what I shoot, checkout two of my videos on my channel. Checkout My Black and Whites and My Get Outside. These two showcase most of what I like to do. Today I was having an emotional day...but I'm beginning to understand that this is part of the journey, When I had loose natural I had bad days, perm, jeri curl. It's like we have to teach ourselves how to appreciate ourselves. I can't see you but if I could I'd say HOLD YOUR HEAD UP...Someone needs to see your confidence Luv Ya!
I've been there. And I just said forget I'll just let it grow out. Next beeswax is NOT a good solution that's why your hair was so dry when you took it loose. And washing, well most won't go with this, but washing once a month and some aren't going to believe this either, it makes your locs thin out over time. Being an island girl I've never understood why the Afro American woman felt that adding oil to you hair is needed. Our hair is naturally based with oil, moisturizer is best. Shea butter is better and the more you twist makes it break and you can thin your hairline .. just let it go and enjoy the process
@@gailpdesigns I started my locs back in 97 and bees wax is what everyone used. Once your hair locs that bees wax sticks in the locs and it’s not pretty. No residue in the locs. I use oil to retest and I only use rose water in my locs. Water is only used when I wash my hair.
