Thanks dad, improved a lot since I know you
if active everyday can u reply to my message plz :D
I’ve been playing osu for about 4 years now, in my opinion it doesn’t improve aim but it WILL increase eye coordination and reaction time greatly
Starter I agree, as well as having better control of the mouse, making aiming more fluid.
100% agreed
Can you give me any maps to download im really bad at osu
You should test kovaak's fps aim trainer way better than the best you mentioned
this aged well
Counterstrike told me how to place my crosshair, it gave my aim and overall skill a huge upgrade. Also my Widowmaker aim got a lot better after playing a lot of csgo.
step 1: get godly with aimbooster
step 2: go to an fps game
step 3: imagine that the enemy your trying to shoot is your mouse and your dragging it to the center to shoot it
Personally, I find that osu! helps with remaining calm in clutch situations too. Many times in songs where you almost full combo, sometimes I get quite anxious ("FC Anxiety") and might even choke. However as you play more of those songs you'll get used to the feeling, and you'll be less nervous and shaky/sweaty when it comes to making clutch plays, and be able to focus more on your decision-making etc.
When I switched from console to PC, ive done both osu! And Aim hero. They both were really helpful. They showed me how much Talent the higher tiers actually possess.
I like to use Aimtastic. It is found on steam, is free, and you can practice your movement during the training. In other words, it is like Aim Hero but has freedom of mobility, for almost all modes.
Interesting how osu! and aiming in FPS games always results in some sort of divisiveness. Here's my experiences with it:
I never used to play mouse-intensive games. Most of my time gaming was spent on MMORPGs originally and MOBAs after that, neither of which require precise aiming.
osu! is the first game of that kind I started playing, but I had a tablet laying around, and switched to using that.
After that I started Overwatch, and my mechanics were garbage.
At some point I decided to switch back to mouse on osu!, and while I don't think it makes you a good aimer in OW, for me it did really ease the path into getting at least decent at it. The act of execution those fast weird movement patterns in and off itself, made me simply have more control over the mouse.
At this point, I don't think osu! does anything for aiming in OW anymore, it just made my entry into it a bit nicer. Of course things like tracking the objects and reaction times are still something beneficial, but not the actual mechanical act of aiming.
You guys should really look into ”Shoot the beat” it uses same songs as original Osu! But transfers the songs into 3D canvas where you can set same FoV as overwatch and calculate the sensitivity to match ow. That way you get the visual training of normal osu in 3D aim environment which translates straight into your existing muscle memory. Thanks peace bai.
damn that sounds super interesting!
super cool concept/idea but if its not consistent i wont use it
For once I actually have to agree that a training program is not quite good for your aim. I'm bout 25k rank in osu!standard and in my opinion this is a bad representation of the game. The main problem with fast maps is that usually only the cursor moves around and the playfield stands still, but in this program, your cursor stands still and the whole screen moves, which, as an experienced osu player, makes you look at a circle, but then you have to look back at the center again, because the screen centers the circle. When playing faster maps, my eyes had to keep adjusting to the moving screen. This way my eyes got tired after a minute of playing. Before playing this I thought that osu and shooters in general arent quite the same, since in osu only your cursor moves and in shooters, your whole view moves. After trying this, I am even more convinced.
Talking about sensitivity, it is quite annoying to go back every now and then to change it, because it doesnt match the ow sensitivity. Anyone who is interested: my ow sens is 6.0 and the closest i could get to it was 1.7 in the program.
btw my osu folder was on an external hard drive, which i couldnt access, because it only lets you select a folder from your C\ drive
ps dont hate if osu actually improved your aim. only my thoughts :)
Davidlinye oh i dont track circles i just look at the middle of the screen (6k player standard)
Play Kovaak's for an hour before you play your main game. Play the right Kovaak's scenarios, Air, 1wall6targets TE, Ground Plaza, etc. And don't grind 7 hours of Kovaak's in one day then nothing the rest of the week, consistent aim practice is key. I have put an average of 2 hours into Kovaak's a day for a year and my aim is really good now.
You are great! Is there a video you have about dealing with toxicity in this game? Thats one of my big issues alongside being tilted at times.
I have a video on Voice Chat and on Tilt :)
Am on my phone so I sadly cant link them right now :(
Its okay man. Keep doing your thing you need more subs!
I play OSU and it keept my brain in good shape even if I haven't played any fps in 2 months
Time to play aim hero again! Thanks for the video iostux!
I dont know about other people but aimhero helped me alot at tracking. I would just go in laser gun and strafing every day and practice . After 1-2 weeks it got 2 Times beter
You should give Kovaaks FPS Aim Trainer a try, it has a workshop and you can costumize a lot more stuff than in Aim Hero (there's even a Tracer and Widow 1v1 scenario in the workshop lol), you can actually costumize your own bots, your weapons and movement.
Will you ever talk about rapid twitch aiming vs smooth aiming?
Yup, it's in another part!
great!!!!
Hey IO! Good video as usual! I was wondering if you thought about maybe crossing off the topics on your list that have already been covered. Kind of as a way to more clearly see what topics are left. Just an idea’r. Keep up the good work \m/
Hey! When I rendered these videos I didn't actually know which order I wanted to publish them on, so I couldn't do that :(
Ahh, it’s all good! It’s still a great series \m/ plus the list still will help show people years down what all is covered, so crossing them off might make continuity strange down the line. So it works :))))
still reelvant to this day
so the best aim trainer is the one that is integrated into the main shooter we play?
Personally, aim hero or OSU it's all about how git gud aiming in general or warm up. So you can have best aim to learn or competitive in overwatch.
so your opinion of kovaks is to only use it when you are tired of your main game, or need a break?
Here's the thing about osu! : It's pretty bad for aim training IF you have any aim.
I'm a left handed man who has used a right handed mouse since I was 6 years old. There's no way I can change my mouse hand at this point, and my aim was slow and wobbly like you would not believe.
I then started osu, which was like going into a masterclass of mouse gripping and mouse *control*. osu will not help you snap better in Overwatch, and it will not help you make headshots. But it will absolutely help you if your issues are related to mouse control.
What do you think of 3daimtrainer.com? There are advanced options where you can select Overwatch as a Game and set like your ingame sens and dpi. Also a few Hitscan Heroes are selectable.
Also, do you think Widow FFA is good for training Widow Aim or is it just better to spam her in Comp?
What are your thoughts on aim lab?
Do you recommend Koovak?
Have to disagree about OSU. the curves and sweeps etc , the movements you do in there help you with tracking and flicking . Take away what’s happening on screen , and just look at the mouse movements . It’s more about getting your hand and fingers and arm comfortable with all these different techniques. It very much improves the finesse of your hand , therefore , you will absolutely have a much easier time with your mouse :)
The problem is that Tracking and flicking is about reacting, Osu is mostly memorization like all other rythm games out there. Tracking is very easy if someone moves predictably anyways, the real challenge is tracking when someone moves erratically, and Osu! doesnt practice that. As I said, it has some benefits, but its by far not the best Aim training tool!
Fantastic video as always. But i can't remember the song name?
Can you pls tell me its name?
Arrival of the birds & Transformation :)
Really like the video but I got a question , Why does everyone of your videos thumbnails look like its taken straight from the music video "Take on Me" by the band A-ha?
Its a good song :D
Thanks for vid
Hi iostux, i agree on the fact that for example osu! Doesnt improve aim, but i can tell you that after been playing it for a while(for fun, usually playing 4-5 stars maps) its true that my aim hasnt improved much but i feel like i am really consistent, i more often feel like that i am having my “best aim” and i rarely have days when i feel my aim is “off” but maybe its just me😁i am a 3.3k player, btw i love this new format keep it up!👍🏻
Glad you like it! And yup, as mentioned in the Video Osu! definitely has its benefits, I'm glad it works for you :)
matteo novelli yes, people are confused , OSU will not directly improve your Overwatch aim, it will improve your mouse finesse and overall technique
matteo novelli well I guess if someone who switches over to pc from console (like me) will be benefitted from playing Osu! because it helps you getting used to the mouse I guess? (Please tell me if what said is true because I really need to get used to the mouse!)
yes it will help with your mouse control for sure
Aaron Bowley thank you!
I've used aim hero and osu. I find having alt account is the best way to train. You can still play on the same rank as your main and you don't need to worry if you ever fall in rank. The best part is your teammates seem to have less thrower.
I'm going to Train in school brb
China #1
I have been playing osu! with mouse for 5 years and I guarantee you it does not improve your aim in first person shooter games.
can confirm
I currently only aim with my wrist, mainly because my desk is super small, I feel like I’m not capable of pulling off shots I need to because I run out of room, do you run into this problem Iostux? What size is your desk?
Oof, I think my desk is on the smaller size too. I use a QCK+ Mousepad.
Maybe try tilting your keyboard or doing what Pine does and have your mouse and keyboard behind your monitor and maybe you’ll have more space
You can also check www.3daimtrainer.com it synchronizes FOV, sens and movement speed of your desired game.
I think osu is good for visual acuity and timing for shots
I always play osu to warm up my hands, on top of that, its fun!
So if I wanted to practice my aim, what should I do
Wait for the "Aim Secrets: Aim Practice Methods" video :)
ioStux Coaching | Overwatch Sounds good, didn’t realize using aimbooster and osu were bad but I’m excited to try out new methods.
1:48 But stux, you once said that its good because it put your whole focus on raw aim
My opinion on it has changed slightly :)
d'va, pro gamer in the world of overwatch grinds her skills in arcades like lost vikings, super siege mode and even vivi's adventures.
so should we.
fair point
out of curiosity do you personally play osu? if so can i have a profile link?
I play it a little but I am fucking garbage at it haha, I got the recommendation by Jayne (twitch.tv/jayne) who is a god at the game, at least from my plebby eyes!
the link doesnt work, and osu is a pretty fun game when you get into it, it would probably be used for warmups if anything
to be more specific the channel doesnt exist
www.twitch.tv/jayne the link should work :(
it works now ty
Type in 'aim' in the ow custom games
Osu! isn't good at all to train your aim - first of all, it teaches you how to move the cursor, but doesn't teach you how to turn the head. Second - unless you switch the song every single time you win or lose - then you're only practicing the rhythm and not the actual aiming skill. It's like rehearsing a play - doesn't help in the game.
I remember a tip given by a very experienced osu! player when I first started playing osu! was to download a large pool of beatmaps and keep playing different ones. Keep repeating the same beatmaps over and over wasn't useful in getting better at osu! like you said, but playing different maps all the time prevents you from only training muscle memory for specific maps but more focus on getting better at reading beatmaps in general. It really helped me getting better at osu! following this method and not to mention keeping the game fresh.
nice
FpOsu. It helped me tremendously. Look it up.
I like McDonalds osu
because its 3d and fun
mcosu I mean
I was rank #3,300 in the world at osu and I'm still gold, send help.
But what about FPOsu!?!
Aimtastic is better then Aim Hero imo also its a free
Epicon I agree
honestly aim hero is so dead to me. 10+min and im already bored dead. osu is a good warmup for me but doesnt really improve aim. and i dont want to warmup directly in overwatch so for me personally its hard to "train my aim" except for playing comp. so idk what to do
Use Aimtastic assault mode.
kovaaks
im bad at using mouse in osu now lol xd
Ah I though this was an osu tutorial :(
FIRST!
dude u have no clue what aim is, do u?
precision is legit the smallest part of aim
aiming is a process entirely unto itself man
where did u get the confidence 2 make these videos? pls respond n tell me where u got the confidence, what the moment was where u thought "yup, i know so much about aim, and the public NEEDS 2 hear my input"
also, precision is the ONE thing that translates from game 2 game regardless of mechanics
He is the head couch of the Uprising Academy. I hope this is a bad joke

2:05, that's an ass.
Can't argue with that
