Hasbro is the scalper $49.99...$30 for the robot, $20 for the volleyball and the microbike.
I dont think many people want this set, not even preorders have sold out and its been up for almost 2 months.

I'm pretty impressed with how slick the undercarriage looks. It may have missed as a crossover but I think it would shine as a different character

@@concordegaming5037 ain't that the truth. Man, I was so annoyed with that model. Especially when they made the swing wings work on their generic jets in the Top Gun 5 packs.
I certainly missed it on the Rescue Force Jet.
@@concordegaming5037 I still have some diecast cats from when I was a kid in the 2000s it was in the color scheme of the VX-9 Vampire squadron. It was a nice model but the wings didn’t move at all forever stuck folded back

Problem is that Hasbro no longers owns the Jurassic Park even the Jurassic World franchise to make license toys from those film franchise. Unless if they made an agreement with Mattel, it just might work.

The Tomcats were really dirty birds, lots of different fluids leaking. Then they also used a grey paint that the engineers/mexhanics didn't have on the ships. By the crew's end there wasn't really any old paint on them, just blotches of different greys. As for the pods under the plane they are extra fuel tanks.
The swing wings on the real jet are intended to make the transition from subsonic to supersonic speed easier
nonsense.
They are to have better low speed handling characteristics and easier landing on the carrier.
Fixed wing planes can be designed to go supersonic, easy..
but it's hard to have both high supersonic wing and easy landing behavior on the carrier.
Much of that has ben fixed with Fly By wire and electronic aids like auto DLC and Auto throttle ; both were just not as automatic back in the days when the Tomcat was being designed.
I like the fact they added the "Authentic" Tom Cruise high heel shoes for the robot mode
If Starscream has repaints with Skywarp and Thundercracker, the Maverick can have Goose and Iceman.

Maverick gives me some nostalgic vibes, what with the time I used to have a toy plane displayed in the ceiling of my room as well as seeing some G2 Cyberjets.
This looks basically like a Chinese copy of a transformer toy.

Yeah, you are right. Can't Hasbro spend there time making more studio series figures and things that were in at least one g-1 or bay-former movie instead of making other transformers that were not in any transformers movie. We still don't have a lot of studio series figures from R.O.T.F,A.O.E, and T.L.K.

A neat crossover would be the following:
-Battlestar Galactica 2004 Mk2 Viper
-Battlestar Galactica 2004 Mk7 Viper
-Battlestar Galactica 2004 Cylon raider(decepticon)
-perhaps a huge Battlestar Galactica or Battlestar Pegasus transformer)
-Star Wars T-65 X-wing
-Star Wars T-70 X-wing (Poe Dameron's Black X-wing
-Star Wars TIE fighters(bomber, interceptor, standard TIE)
at 7:38 it reminds me of the Macross VF-1 in it semi robot mode

It's basically Gobot Leader One.
Leader One was a janitor if he will join the Autobots rank. Gobots General was a Private or Corporal to the Autobots

It's a variation on the Macross Valkyrie transformation. The Valkyrie design was based on the F14.

I will probably buy like three of this guy. He would make a good generic Autotrooper.
This figure might actually be good for repaints to create expendable versions of the seekers, but I honestly don't see this figure looking very good without paint overhauls. I like the shaping, personally, but that plastic color is beyond ugly. It sucks, too, since few transformers have shotgun weapons, and with those open palms, if you sand down the pegs he can hold the pump of them for great posing, but.. Man that color scheme is bad.
If he isn't too expensive, I's day he's a good figure for repainting, and actually hope Hasbro reuses the molds with different colors, but I can't call the figure out of the box appealing at all.

Here's to hoping. I'll still grab a couple of this guy, myself, assuming he'll be reasonably priced, or on sale, and make a couple of aerial bots that are always together, sort of thing. Maybe a Jetfire Jetstorm sort of deal from Animated. I'll definitely hope this mold gets some re-releases, and some love since it has just enough potential that I don't want it to end here with such a poor first release.

The transformation is quite similar to the VF-1 series from Macross, a Variable Fighter that was heavily inspired by the F-14.
I personally think Maverick is pretty cool, and I once made a small diorama of him playing volleyball with Optimus Prime against Deluxe Class TFP Starscream and Soundwave. The F-14 mode is also pretty cool, but the wings do swing out just a little bit too much. The way they made the guns transform into the external fuel tanks is amazing. The way the feet transform kinda reminds me of MP-07 Starscream, and as a Top Gun fan, I’d really like to see more like these, such as a MiG-28 Decepticon, or Maverick repaints for Iceman and Hollywood. Or, heck, another Maverick figure that becomes Darkstar from the sequel.
The plastic and paint job definitely ruin this figure but setting that aside the mold looks pretty good and I love his transformation. If only he had plastic and paint more like MPM Starscream I'd definitely pick him up. Maybe with the movie being postponed a whole year they'll decide to do an improved reissue next summer? Wouldn't be the first time they listened to fan criticism in this line (darkening Gigawatt's windows).
I do seriously hope Hasbro realizes the opportunity they have here to make a perfect G1-style Jetfire though by remolding his jet mode parts, beefing up his arms and legs a bit, and making some removable armor and boosters. The transformation might have to be tweaked a bit but it's very close, especially the way his chest transforms with the panel sliding up to partially cover the cockpit and the engine air intakes flipping around and ending up above his hips. Obviously they'd have to change some things to keep Harmony Gold happy, but I prefer some parts of the cartoon design for robot mode anyway so that's not a problem.

Thank you very much for the review. As someone who collects jetformers, I am really excited for this figure. The transformation is very basic, but in a good way. If only a more starscream earthrise grey was used instead of this pearly plastic, the alt mode would look better. Hopefully the lack of majority interests would keep this guy on the shelves long enough for me to pick up. Thanks so much for another great review. You have been steadily becoming a legendary transformers reviewer.
Thank you for posting this, mine just arrived yesterday and one of the missile rails had came off during shipping and was worried that it had broken.
Just a proper paint session and this guy could be a very nice one. I LOVE Top Gun, so this would be a must buy if I had the money for him. I hope to find him later at a little cheaper price. Ectotron and Gigawatt is also on my wishlist.
I would like to see him as a Leader class with the motorcycle as a small legends class as a little partner called Goose.
I think it looks better in hand then it did in the promo shots (primarily the shoulders).
I think the biggest issue is that unlike the previous 2 crossovers, Hasbro decided to make a 100% original mold instead of reusing an existing figure. Because of this the vehicle mode looks great (and avoids the under-kibble we see with most jet-formers), but the robot mode just looks spindly.
Part of me thinks this was originally intended to be a Jet Fire remake for Earth Rise. The transformation is just so similar.
The things next to the missiles are drop-fuel tanks. Basically if they are empty and the net needs to increase its speed, it would drop them and lowers its weight

Robot mode is very disappointing, and the lack of painting. The head clashes with the intire figure.

I really appreciate this honest review. For me, when it comes to transformers with a jet alt-mode, the plane mode is the most important. Although the plastic on this figure is absolute trash as you’ve pointed out the sculpt is phenomenal in alt-mode. I also agree that the robot mode is somewhat weak. I wish Hasbro would dump this shit soapy plastic.
I'd like to see this one retooled a little to make a GI JOE Skystriker. You'd think since they've done the Crossovers one the GI Joe side, they'd do some on the Transformers side.
What is the deal with Hasbro using these beige/tanish plastics instead of gray over the last few years?

Leaving it to the more aerodynamic version to the jet as you mentioned is how an F14 Tomcat normally looks like.
Its disappointing the paint job of this figure. With some customizing I think it should turn out awesome than what hasbro left us.

A solid white paint job would do wonders for the look of this. Especially with Macross/Robotech logos on it

I’m a fan of slender bots. And after absorbing most of the siege and earthrise line, the lack of blocks is nice.
This transformers transformation is almost identical to the jets from the anime macross

Sir I have a Megatron toy which is of 7 Inches. And I want Orion Pax which are of 7 Inches. But I didn't get. I got 5.5 Inches which I liked. And one I got 6 Inches with Optimus Prime. Which confuse. So tell me which one to buy

You should have kept the wings splade out while in vehicle mode. The wings only go in like that once the jet reaches higher speeds.
I'd love to understand the idea behind casting any transformer in that soapy plastic. Is it cost savings or just ineptitude?
I got mine on Amazon and it didn't come with the extra hands or the ball, what type did I get?

The design of this reminds me a lot of some of the G2 Cyberjets, like I could see a repaint of this as G2 Jetfire or Hooligan

But the absolute biggest thing about this figure that pops out to me......
is that this transformation process seems to me
to be a lot more like the Macross Valkyrie transformation process.
(looks like he may even have a faux-gerwalk mode to boot)

Macross-esque booster unit fast pack snap-on armor set ala'G1 Jetfire.

His design, and even transformation remjnds me a little of G1 jetfire, although looks like it cannot do a gerwalk mode with its arms
If they used a silver plastic and used the paint budget to pick out detail rather than add dirt, this could be a great figure. The jet mode is insanely clean and the transformation is slick, but that robot mode does just look like a cheap knock-off and ruins the experience :(
I think this passes very well for 1/64 scale (Matchbox and Hotwheels, greenlight etc.) I saw the motorcycle and it looked about the same size as Greenlight Indian motorbike in one of the Hitch and Tow sets, as well, since it's a Dropkick retool, I think that figure was super close to 1/64, this is awesome!! >w

TBH, given my experience trying to get the Centurion Drone & G1 Accessories pack (had to email customer service twice, it was eventually shipped and is now a week and a half after it was finally shipped it's somewhere in FedEx's distribution system) I have decided that I'm not going to bother buying any further Hasbro Pulse exclusives.

The big advantage Maverick has over Gigawatt is availability. Gigawatt was sold out in under 24 hours on Hasbro Pulse.
His gun is higher topped armory and is said to be a remold of dropkick be who Knows and holy moly Batman Tom cruise bike?!
I loved the G2 Cyberjets and this is basically a large scale one but the colours and retail price kinda put me off.
Now all we need is the Kitt Knight Rider and the Jurassic Park SUV

Not gonna lie, I really dig the robot mode. I know I'm in the minority and I think all criticisms presented here are valid, but I really appreciate that they did something different, I think it turned out really slick.
I like the design - it reminds me of those Bayformers that never got seen in the movies and yet were some of the better designs of that franchise. However this also shows just how important colour is to a product. Those matt-grey prototypes you sometimes see images of look better than this. I've never seen Top Gun but I bet the plane in it looks less washed-out than this suggests. Heck, Wonder Woman's _invisible_ jet would look less insubstantial than this...
I look forward for Hasbro to get to work on a Transformer version of the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. Same goes for KITT and KARR from Knight Rider.
Unfortunately, no one will touch the general with a million foot pole.
I don't think Hasbro would be cool with putting a giant confederate flag on a children's toy.

Most official transformers toys if they want to emphasize one mode, then alt mode will suffer where are inproportional size or overbulky kibble. This one is emphasized for jet mode
This is what happens when Hasbro designs a jet that actually looks good from all angles in its alt mode. IMO it's worth it. The MP11 seekers weren't bad in that regard either, but ER Seekers are. Northrop Grumman probably wouldn't let Hasbro make it a jet with a robot mode underneath in their licensing requirements - just speculation, though.

The new version is dirt cheap now. I just hope that the new one doesn't suffer from the same horrific discolouration issues the old one did.
My old one's joints were a bit loose in the arms and tight in the legs my new one in the reverse great arms, and the legs are rather loose.
Such as shame this got stuck in the collaboration like it would have made a fantastic G2 Jetfire , Hooligan or Fearswoop.
I'm a little surprised PVsP doesn't like it at all considering it looks not unlike a Live Action Movie toy overall.
Anyway I like it despite the discolouration issue and lacklustre weapons storage options.
So sad this did not turn out better. Although it technically has a lot of "paint" apps because of the weathered look, it looks very lacking in the paint department. Also, as mentioned the type of plastic and color is just such a let down. I pre-ordered him because I am a fan of the movie and a fan of jets. I'm definitely going to apply some panel lining and some more paint apps including on the front tire to bring out more of the potential of this figure. It there wasn't so many little and accurate printed details around the cockpit I would have done a full repaint. Glad it exists, sadly it just needs some love. Even made more sad seeing how expensive this is. BTW I Hasbro does a cross over with, KITT from Knight Rider, the A Team van, Air Wolf and Blue Thunder I would buy them all!

Wow. The transformation is similar to a VF-1 from Macross. That being said, may have to pick one up and give it original VF-1 Mold Jetfire Paint Scheme.
He reminds me of the old crossover Marvel or Star Wars Transformers.
