The guys who give new players shit are not the Vets, they're the ppl who THINK they're Vets but have only gotten past the newbie-phase themselves.
True vets are the guys who will try to help you out, give tips & info, answer questions and LEAD THE CHARGE!
Also a very big tip: If you find a server with such people, I'd recommend adding it to your favorites. Good players tend to prefer the same servers, so if you find a good one consider giving it a return visit!
I have over 700 hours in red orchestra 2 and 300 + in rising storm Vietnam. I don't know if that makes me a "vet" or not, but new people tend to get excessive team kills. After being team killed 6 or 7 times in a row by a bunch of idiots who don't check uniforms gets really old.
1000+ hrs in RO2/RS1 and 250+ in RS2. I can definitely say the guys who give people shit are the guys that have just mastered the rifleman and gotten the hang of 1 or 2 other roles. The really good guys are either calling out targets/information or helping out the FNGs with advice and directions. The only time those dudes really get uppity is when the CDR gets 20 TKs with arty or a squadwipe TK with a bad grenade, and in those situations you could have dedicated a years worth of time to the game and you'll still get shitted on.
Well, there's also the new players that decide it's a good idea to run in front of you while you're firing. I mean I got 7 teamkills once because the same guy kept running in front of me while I'm firing and I tell them "Please, don't do that."

Hi, some tips:
Look at your map often
Launch a maximum of smoke
Listen to the commander and squad leaders
Put his baionette in close combat, not in long range because it decreases the precision
Watch how veterans play
Flank
Do not stay out too long
The traps, put all the time (viet) / look at the ground and defuse (US)
Squad leaders: (Viet) place your tunnel !!! / (US) stay alive !!! + Artillery target to be designated for the commander.
Dont think i heard you mention this, but the bullet comes from the barrel not the sights, so just because your sights on someone and your your looking over cover or w.e, you might hit your cover instead of your target.
This game is great! I don't even care that I die constantly. They know how to make you scared when your pinned down and bullets hit the ground next to you. Perfect game so happy to have bought it.
Most important rule: work as a team, stick to you squad....kills do not equal high score.
High scores are achieved from working with your squad.

TFW you're chilling on post and the Air Force does a fly-over after you spent 18 hours level grinding for that sick tiger stripe BDU. I was waiting for the shitty napalm effects to team kill me at any second.

You will die excessively, do not let it anger you. Just make your life count as much as you can.
Literally all you have to do, Is LOOK AT THE MAP, USE YOUR BRAIN AND FLANK COMMON ENEMY ROUTES. It's easy to get 30-40kill games if you just keep calm, watch your map and were your team is dying. I love people who get mad at this game, Because it's literally - Wak Long Dong

Hell, had a game with 80+ kills running around with a sawn-off & pistol on Cu Chi trolling in tunnels. A good bit of luck, effective flanking and well-timed hit&run will do WONDERS :D
you also have to have a decent pc and ping unlike mine where i barely get 15fps and a 200 average ping lol but yeah what you said.
I get max 4-5 kills per round and at least 20 deaths. Then I get angry and complain about the game. But when I think about it later it was always my fault because I can't aim at all.
I disagree with you RO/RS veteran speech. Those are just shitty people. RO/RS vets are for the most part welcoming of new players. More people = keeps the game alive. Free weekends on RS and RO2 where like Christmas for us, we got to beat on CoD heroes and we got to see new names on our servers after the weekend. Shitty people are shitty people.

Turn the brightness up all the way up, and the enemy players light up and stick out like a sore thumb, kind of like reversed infrared.
Please do be advised that there is 100% chance at the end of the match that you will have PTSD.

I would say you're doing a okay job on the gameplay!
Best way to avoid veterans getting pissed is to just play rifleman all the time until you have several games or experience under your belt. Also if you do decide to play sl or tl be sure you can type fast or have a mic. Players generally get pissed at even a good tl if he doesn't have a mic
Brand new to this game (I have played RO 2 but not very much) I'm a good shot, I know the basis of the game modes and roles but I have trouble with the maps (flanking routes etc.) but thanks for this video it did help a lot!
SkottoAnimations if you're new every time you enter a house check your surroundings and slowly walk in to the house after checking corners because i have died from not doing that god knows how many times.

This game needs bots for new players to learn the maps and gameplay. It would also be a huge help in grinding the class levels and get extras unlocked.
They actually do, you learn the maps more on your own pace as the bots advance in their poor ways. That's how I learned the map layouts without getting killed by pros at every turn.
The "extras" are purely cosmetic....
Max Cady you would be surprised at how many people care about cosmetic unlocks
You also unlock weapon addons and variants by levelling up, and they're NOT cosmetic. having a 30 round mag for m16 does have a real effect on gameplay for an example.
There are no weapon unlocks in RS2, sorry. All weapons and variants are available from level 1

It means you're in camouflage. It's not only when prone, but also works when crouched and if you don't shoot. If there's a recon plane overhead and you're playing as the vietnam, stand still for a while. The leaves will show up, meaning the recon plane can't spot you.
I love the realism in this game!

great video man! I had to get a replacement pc and have only played the game for about two weeks. love it! and everything you just said rings true. the CO's do sound like they know what their doing so thats good. also great team work everytime. will probably be back in a few weeks. cant wait.

Also I was already level 5 and nobody listened to me as a commander.
When u come from ps4 after playing continuous hours on r6s, this game is a nightmare on keyboard and mouse.
the mosin nagant is nthe best weapon of the game. period.
I even couldnt get any kill in my first 30min.
How do you set mines? I swear I can't figure this out. I've tried all mouse keys, interact key, etc. Do I need to find something on the ground to interact with?
Ghost rider first, your class has to have mine/trap. Then crouch and click at the ground

VC run with it in one hand, Americans use two.
My first time being commander I was kicked off of it Bcz I napalmed the objective and killed at least 12-15 guys with 3 Tk’s.
Edit: We later won the game Bcz they couldn’t cap the OBJ’s
SS. Lieben Calls in Napalm, warns people about incoming napalm, two or three idiots who got tked get mad and you get kicked. Gets 10 enemy kills. Smh

I reckon Battlefield players feel right at home with Rising Storm 2. I think it's because camping is so shunned as a tactic that everyone run and guns.

Nope. The Vietnamese place tunnels instead. This has an advantage tho - it allows the SL to join the close quarter combat without losing a good spawning location for the teammates. More people on the front :p

Almog Ashkenazi the m16 is the best gun in the game tho lol. the best gun the congs have is the ppsh besides that the American weapons overshadow them.
I played wave 7 and from my experience the Vietnamese guns are better
Almog Ashkenazi what guns would those be? considering you said the m16 is useless I don't think I can take tour word for it. The damn thing has no recoil on semi and little on full auto. not to mention it comes with a lot of ammo.

only the PPsh, but that one has considerable recoil. The only thing the AK is better at then the M16 is probably sniping (because of the higher caliber). The Vietnamese are generally better at longer range because of the Carbine the Mosin and the Hunting rifle. And the US at close range (M16, Shotgun, Flamethrower, Grease gun).

No good player would ever use that gun in this game. Supression, sway stats on mosin are redic.
AK type 56 on semi is 100x better in every aspect. It one shots like mosin. But dont use AKM, hitreg issues.

JR M Moison is a solid gun with a higher chance to one shot then a ak not to mention it has great bullet volacity. it's also less likely to draw attention to yourself then lets say the sound of an ak shot.
The MN98 is a great sniper weapon. A pretty flat trajectory to 400 meters means you can go with a 300 meter sight setting and you can aim center mass to get 1-shot-kills from 0-350-400 meters. Make it 500 if you know how to adjust your point of aim. If you play the role correctly and stay to the rear and flanks and keep a 100-200 meter standoff range from the main action then you can really make Joe hurt. The inability to panic fire also makes you pay attention to your fire discipline and keeps a low profile if the enemy is
