Steve Vai is not even remotely similar of a player to Hendrix. I’m not here to compare guitarists lol it’s not a competition

Hendrix tuned his guitars down to E flat....makes a HUGE difference to tone n feel, he also used veery light guage strings 😊

I know he definitely does on some songs but not all songs. IE: purple haze you can’t play that song tuned down to Eb.
I didn’t know that he played light gauges though (I do too lol) thanks for that

@@Jamsville there's a lot of info on Jimi, from what I've seen on video, read from books and very old mags he used 8's on the high E...also he always tuned to E flat...the tone is so much creamier... Listen to Trower n SRV they also played in dedicated E flat, SRV used heavy gauge strings, tone is thick...also if you flip the string lengths with a left handed neck you get a totally different feel...longer string needs more tension... I have done this with a right handed Strat 👍
