    The very first Throwback Thursday on Mustang Connection is a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 with a 390 and 4 speed that was rescued from a field and fully restored with some upgrades. This 390, 4 speed car was also an air conditioning car. The Lime Gold Metallic paint was chosen again to bring the car to it's former glory but now it's sporting a 428 Cobra Jet backed by a 4 speed. From Field find to fantastic show winner, take a look at this blast from the Mustang Connection past.

    This looks so good that I'll even settle for the "before" car. That green was the original color of my brothers mach 1.

      If I still owned it I would have mechanically restored it and drove it for a bit. It was a cool car.

      My dads neighbor has 69 Mach 390 4 speed car that is restored to near factory condition. Not sure if its the original color but its maroon with the gold reflective stripes. Very nice car but he never takes it out of the garage anymore.

      Cobrafanatik22 Sounds like a nice car and it is a shame how many cars are simply left in the garage and never see the light of day.

      StrtRodder100 The styled steel wheels with the center cap get swapped out often because they only came in 14" sizing. I like 'em both, thanks for commenting Kenny. Are you heading out today for a show?

    I remember when I worked at a Cinema and while i was on the stairs just after the lobby area there was someone being dropped off at the curb in a 69 Mach 1 .
    The sun was going down and the Marque lights were on along with the yellow flashing bulb around the trim , the car was a darker Green and it looked new with that shine and all those Theatre reflection coming off the chrome and paint .
    Its look was a big change from the 68 , but even the base model fastback with a 6 in it had the styling of motion and all you needed was nice rims and tires. The E-series sports roof had the 250 6 , and with a Mach style stripe and dual exhaust plus a faux hood scoop you could look like a Mach but get the mileage of a maverick.
    No doubt people laughed at a 250 six , but not after the oil crisis if you still owned it.

      Great story thanks for sharing that Gary and so true about the OPEC crisis from the early to mid 70's and hence so many of the muscle cars were so undesirable for some time. Thanks for commenting, hope you get a chance to enjoy more of the videos on here....

  • @SilentMovements305

    Great video loved the color and how they kept it the original color. My question is why did you move on from this build ?

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  10 років тому

      David Lopez You cannot restore them all and in this case there was an active and interested buyer. As you can see from the current project, the time and money investment is significant. At that particular time it was time it was best to move that car along, to stunning results I might add.

    I'm wondering if the green on this car is the same color from the '66 Mustangs. It sure reminds me of my Grandma's '66 Mustang.
    Edit: I decided to look it up. As described in this video it's lime gold and the '66 had the Sauterne Gold option. In faded form they look very similar but not with a fresh coat. Beautiful car btw!! Thumbs up and subscribed.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  6 років тому

      It is very similar but not identical. Ford did keep various colors exactly the same year to year and often just renamed the color. The light green's with a gold hue were popular throughout the 60's. Ford even brought it back in 2005 on the Mustang calling it Legend Lime if I recall.

    I had A390 HIPO Mustang mach 1 1969 2 door hard top I sold it in1975 for 18000 I was wondering what the price was today

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  3 роки тому

      I am assuming that is a typo and you meant you got $1800 not $18k for it. It is all about condition and what someone is willing to pay for it at a given moment. So a nice example like this restored to this level is probably in the high 30k to low 50k range.

  • @hitlersmissingtesticle69

      This one ran and drove and sold for the high teens.

    • @cruzanity7478
      @cruzanity7478 8 років тому

      I guess it all depends on what part of the country you live in. Sometimes you can find em not running under 10k & in other cases find em in better condition under $15-18k

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  7 років тому +1

      It depends, this was from a local ad in the paper but that was over 10 years ago. There are still deals at times on Craigslist but it is getting harder and harder to find a deal.

    Shame your rear quarter windows are glued shut due to a manufacturing flaw on the 69 fastback. Mate u should of bought the 69 COUPE which not only do the rear windows go down but they’re ALSO pillarlless!

    • @hdr96k
      @hdr96k 3 роки тому

      The rear quarters swing out to open, so all is not lost. However, they don't roll down like the coupe you are correct.
