"Pick apart a Picasso and make excuses to hate, so you can wait for your flowers until you're blue in the face." Picasso started off his realist style painting traditional subject matter like landscapes and flowers. He then went into his famous Blue Period due to depression over a friend's suicide, basically stopped painting flowers at all and switched to painting figures. It's only much later he started having flowers be the focus of his paintings again.
Also blue in the face can also mean when you dead.. like on the autopsy table it's like the individual lying on that table is "blue". So basically people will only give u flowers when you're deceased.
Yup! Also going full abstract seeing the world differently from being inspired by Africa. Art, and then trying to go back to the beginnings ( abstract, think like a kid) because when we get older or brains are molded and hardened., he forced himself to challenge himself and eventually drawing things with one line Very Eminem u need to constantly challenge yourself with ur art and thinking and make sure you’re never molded by anyone but yourself.

Once you let it play for 45 seconds straight out the gate with that stunned silence. I knew that was not the last time you’d let it play uninterrupted for that long this entire album. Damn this is going to be a long week. Shady is truly back baby let’s fucking go.

Great explanation of the album. I also heard tracks that literally/sonically reminded me of SSLP, MMLP, The Eminem Show, and Relapse. I have this album right next to SSLP, MMLP and TES. Probably in that order with this new album being right behind TES. I can’t put this album above them first 3 bc we simply wouldn’t have gotten this one without those. And even though I have the track “infinite” above this album, I still have The Death of Slim Shady above the “Infinite” album as a whole. It’s amazing that Eminem managed to create a new album that is rated up there in his top 4 best albums ever created. I have it at #4 with Relapse being right behind it at #5. I never thought he would have been able to top Kamikaze/MTBMB in this era but he did it by miles.
When it first came out I was like cmon this sell a bit line has to have a celibate meaning this is quintessential eminem but I wasnt catching it, so had to come to knox knew hed get it 100%
Lol relax. It’s a throwaway bar for Em. That is a very common bar to use. Danny Brown literally has a song called celibate where it’s almost the exact same line just repeated for the chorus

You missed one! Mark Twainin' it also refers to Mark Twain, the alter, literary ego of Samuel Clemens. This whole album is brilliant, from a storytelling perspective.
"Mark Twainin' it. You aren't tamin' it, sharp pain in the heart." Mark Twain died of a heart attack and also taming can refer to his writing "Taming the bicycle", His personality and beliefs, or his hair that could not be tamed. The amount of word play in this song is incredible

I always liked Eminem, but as a non-native english speaker, I began to love him after watching your brakdown and bars explaination. I was losing so many details. You're amazing Knox.
I saw a comment of someones opinion on what they believe the intended concept is and I agree with them. Em has always been criticized for not being Shady anymore, so 'the death of slim shady' as a reply to the critics, and bringing back that old shady style to also appease them, while also telling a narrative song by song what would have happened had he stayed Slim Shady figuratively to his career in this cancel culture age and literally to him as a person. The concept of his album has double, you could even make the argument for triple entendre meaning. He's insane.
Also just to add , everyone wanted him to stay as Slim Shady , Everyone was saying he needs to get back on Drugs so can dive into that Persona . He explains throughout that if he would appease the people he would literally be dead because that life style was literally having him(Slim Shady) at deaths door steps .

I’ve seen the online reviews and I genuinely don’t know how people can review an Eminem album off one listen through and no dissection of the lyrics, just to be the first to put out a review. Nice work Knox.
Ugh! I get so irritated too! I used to respond, but some people are already committed to hate it, for others it’s sadly because Marshall ascended to a level a mastery &advancement and it may be heard for some people to comprehend… especially lyrically/linguistics.

Shaq has the energy and charisma and we love Shaq’s videos but I crown you the top reactor for knowing your shit and how much you catch and pay attention to. You’re knowledgeable in the art form and history of it! Great break downs and expressions are cool but your explanations on minute details like adlibs in the background and breaking down the actual literature of the art is what’s refreshing to see. Somebody else catching what you do and more sometimes.
How sad is one's life that they subscribe just to dislike your art! Haters gonna hate! You do you Knox! You got me as a fan for life. Your music has helped me thru hard times and your breakdowns are the cream on top! Much love!
10:13 lol, one of the things about this guy is that as a rapper, he keeps finding little wordplay puns to add to his breakdown. One of those little things that remind you we are watching Knox Hill, brother. Love that shit
Y'all remember Eminem's Infinite (1996)? back when Eminem was just finding his flow? I feel like some sections of Renaissance adopted that same flow, except sicker bars and a better rhyme.
all the questions about who the best is, 30 seconds of this track evidences it and cements it. Eminem can do it all, name a flow he hasn't mastered, the next question is, who can do what Em does, the answer is nobody. He is the best. Followed by Nas.

I’m not sure if he’s sick or whatnot. I hope he isn’t! But he made it seem like a good-bye letter, and it made me worry. He’s a legend!
I love when a passionate professional in a field decrypts things for normies like me. It gives u a glimpse into that passion and how GOATS in the field think. Lots of Love ♥️.
The album is like he starts out with life and each song we get closer to the death of slim shady but we also go the through the different eras throughout I really love how all the tracks connect and how it tells one big story.
Waiting for this since hours, finally you're here.. you'll enjoy this album, shady went nuts
Waiting since hours? 😂😂 jk my man. I kno ur not retarded.
I was not expecting the drop today... i was just watching some reactions as well then i got bombarded with notifications of songs, legit heart stopped cause shady is **SO** back
Yeah man. I thought it was coming out tonight (Friday night). So I was literally going to bed because I had to work early…and he drops. Needless to say, i didn’t get much sleep and I’m ok with it
@@MyWORDisntGospel When Prof and Ren release a song 06AM I have to set my alarm.
Nice day!😅
@@primitivedogs4638 I saw that too. I like both of them. I actually have quite a few songs by PROF in the playlists.
I haven’t checked the track out yet.
LL Cool J dropped a song as well.
In japan been waiting for this reaction since 1pm..thank God! LETS GOOOO!!!! 🔥 🔥
Can’t wait til you break down Guilty Conscience 2. I got questions that need answers
Perfect shirt for today!
And take it easy on yourself, bro-we don't come for the quickest reaction uploaded, we come for the most comprehensive breakdown, and you always deliver!
💯
I needed this! I’ve been sober 6 days now. Needed something to keep my mind busy over the weekend.
Nostalgia will do it 😂🎉
God bless man! Good job, keep going bro! I'm 5 years sober now from heroin/fentanyl/and meth and every other drug you can think of - don't fall into the temptations brotha. Trust in God and he will give you the strength 💪
You got this, man. Addiction killed my brother. Choice is always yours
You hang in there buddy. I just got 3 years sober on July 5th and it can be done. The beginning is the hardest so make sure you have good support who are sober it will totally save you and help you so much. The best of luck! ❤
I'm a month sober from oxys, cigarettes, alcohol, and caffeine. It gets easier. You got this! 💪
South Africa in da house!!!
Same here bra
HOZAAA
Sikhona babes 🇿🇦🙌🏿
Another South African in the house 🇿🇦
Your face during this has been mine since 4am this morning. Had the album on repeat.
Greatest rap album ever
Alright chill bro 💀
Eminem word play is elite . Great breakdowns aswell , I see you on twitter and came to check it out . Was not disappointed.
I love the way Knox articulates how Em sees the rhymes like Tetris blocks. This is true mastery.
Soon as i heard this intro of this song i got chills bro and goosebumps cause he brought back the eminem show and encore type flow and beat. I was waiting for knox hill to break this down.
I work for FedEx my truck just broke down but i’m not even worried I got this break down videos to watch while I wait🤝🏼.
Thank you for posting this along with all the rest! Been a fan from the beginning, but it took me until this year to find you who completely opened my mind to all these deeper meanings with all the word plays and such. Knowing and understanding all this stuff has just made everything so much more enjoyable to listen to! Makes me feel smarter heh
Cant wait for future breakdown videos!!
Em the greatest fr this album is phenomenal and great reaction 😂😂🔥🔥💯😁
I’ve seen the online reviews and I genuinely don’t know how people can review an Eminem album off one listen through and no dissection of the lyrics, just to be the first to put out a review. Nice work Knox.
Ugh! I get so irritated too! I used to respond, but some people are already committed to hate it, for others it’s sadly because Marshall ascended to a level a mastery &advancement and it may be heard for some people to comprehend… especially lyrically/linguistics.
Tobey is a great example of the above… Most people couldn’t even make sense of “spitfire / flying coach” bar…
It’s amazing how he is able to go back into his 2000s era voice tone for shady. Tremendous talent fr!!
it’s ai
Element of Intelligent Hoodlum - Arrested Development (stoppage of physical or mental development). Meaning shady is his inner child.
Under an hour gang😊
Gang gang
Under a minute 👍
Here
Lets goooo
¡Hola!
Your hip-hop knowledge is very impressive, most wouldnt know these underground or old school artists. Much respect🙏🏼🙏🏼
I listened to the full album all the way through when it dropped and listening to all of it all together is so much like a movie or story and I love the concept this intro sounded crazy to me 🔥
I wish you good luck for the next week Knox!
YES!!!!
This song is exactly what I wanted from Eminem
Knox ive been waiting since Ems coupe de grace dropped,
its always a good time when shady steps up to the plate
Listened to the whole album l, I loved it. When I listened to this track definitely gave me “Rabbit Run” vibes from the 8 mile soundtrack. Same crazy flow
I've been waiting patiently Knox Hill, you are truly exceptional! Your ability to analyze and capture every intricate detail of Eminem's songs is unparalleled. Your dedication and passion for dissecting bars are truly commendable. You are undoubtedly the G.O.A.T when it comes to bar breakdowns. Keep up the incredible work!
EMINEM AND SHADY BOUTTA IMPLODE THE INTERNET WITH THIS ONE 💯💯🐐🐐🙏🙏
How does Knox just know so much... 😭
My opinion this is one of if not the best albums he ever put out DAY 1 stans will understand he took us back to the old slim gotta listen song 1 to last like a movie how slim takes over marshall
Knox buddy you are EDUCATING me so many things you caught, nah man I couldn't even catch 10% of what you did, you are literally EDUCATING the community here! You don't get enough credit for this shit man
This is a really good album. The story is so cool of him shedding his past self and pretty much telling everyone he isn't who he was 25 years ago.
Let's go! Album is awesome, looking forward to all the breakdowns
Dayum, EM showing us again why he is the GOAT 🔥
Lets gooo. This is just a mixture of the new and the old. Too good. Thanks Knox
Dude I love u Knox man....I love Eminem which makes me sad that this album might just b it from him....but....I've been listening to this album on repeat for the last 3 days and I thought I have caught it all but u have put other connections together that I havent....thanks man and I'll b with u thru this whole cd....good luck cuz my brain is fried....I should start a UA-cam channel
Yeaaa we here, it’s currently 4am and I ain’t sleep yet
Ditto !
Is the grim reaper on the left in the artwork?
When the zipper is open, it looks like Slim is being birthed. :-)
Will the body bag be Spiderman when zipped?
The New Dance is dangerous. :-)
Can't wait to hear all of your breakdowns to every song and lyrics. Thanks for being so awesome, Knox Hill.
Yes siiirrrr Knox I been waiting on this💪🏽😁
Wake up to Knox baking the tracks let's go
bro part of the hype I had about the new Em album was your reactions and breakdown of it, you may not be the greatest rapper, but you are for sure the GOAT when it comes to reactions and breakdowns. Keep EM coming (haha)
IN KNOX WE TRUST TO DELIVER THE BREAKDOWNS WE NEEDED 💯💯🐐🐐🙏🙏
Love the legend and his music since young 🐐
Hell yeah Knox! We've been waiting for you
I’m not worthy to such greatness
EMINEM IS JUST UNTOUCHABLE
Then I get to have Knox break it down for me with his greatness…..
*BOW DOWN* I am not worthy sir!!
As somebody who grew up loving to share new music with people and put them on and hear and see their reactions this is why we love these videos.
Michael Jackson’s son’s name is Blanket too isn’t it? “Shadys dangling a baby tangled in a Blanket”.
I’m pretty sure that’s correct but I also think blanket changed the name cause who wants to be called blanket
@@andygonzalez4551 I seen a video somewhere of a guy nicknamed blanket because he puts people to sleep 🤜
Yes that’s right …just looked it up. It was Blanket.
Don't let the intrusive thoughts enter, you're a legend my friend. You, Shaq + Crypt are top3. No order. Thank you for this, legendary.
Agreed
Just waiting for Shaq
@@youknowwhogaming5521Why? He just yells and screams like an idiot. This is the only place you need to check out imo
eminem and knox best 2
