"Take it out every couple weeks, beat the crap out of it and put it back" This has been my exact process since I TT swapped my NA almost 10 years ago. I love it, and mine only makes 450. Nice Z!
@@upland90254 All in mine was about $15,000 and that's including all of the bolt ons and labor. I bought a JDM front clip for $2,500 which sounds like a steal now based on the prices I see. The older guy was working in Japan and sent it home for him and his son to swap their NA. When he got home his son wasn't interested because he had a Cobalt SS. Lol. Anyway, I had the swap done by a Z mechanic. I bought bigger turbos, injectors, intercoolers, Selin Dual Intake, Mike Smith manifolds, Z1 downpipes, test pipes, B&B catback, GReddy boost controller, Z1 six puck clutch, Specialty Z lightweight flywheel, Howe radiator, all new hoses, Wiring Specialties harness, etc. So all of that plus the labor was about $15,000 I think. It probably sounds like a lot of unnecessary stuff but depending on the condition of the parts on the engine you get a lot of that should be replaced anyway and the engine is already out. Mine has been running great ever since. I'm sure you'll find people that say they can buy a TT engine and throw it in there for a few thousand dollars but how long until you're fixing issues you could've already dealt with. A big benefit of the swap for me is having the NA rear. That and the six puck can make it annoying to drive in traffic but 99% of my driving time in the Z is open back roads. Bolt ons plus the NA rear means 40 to 140 in a very short amount of time. Lol. Good luck! If you do it, you'll love it.
I built through Z1 motorsports in 2005 the 500 hp kit. It had an ashespec ecu. I picked the car up and I lived in Augusta GA so I left my corvette parked at Z1 motorsports where I was told to park it and jumped in my upgraded 300 ZX TT and asked if I could come back in about a week to pick up my vette and when I got back Ashe had backed his car into it. He said he would make it right but never did. They did a great upgrade though. I could cruse at 140 at 1/4 throttle. It was a beast for its time.
Honestly to compare this masterpiece of art and technology to a Ferrari is pretty demeaning, it's not trying to be a Ferrari lamborghini modeled their Diablo after it and that's saying something. Just leave it alone it's a masterpiece of it's own pedigree.

The MR2 is the poor man’s Ferrari. 300zx has its heart in the wrong place. More like poor man’s Aston Martin, or poor man’s jaguar
Haha it’s funny you say that! I made a MR2 video, and I couldn’t help myself but make the thumbnail say “poor man’s Ferrari” as well😂
Jaguar ? . Wtf are you talking about ?. Someone please take this buffoons phone away
Far from cheap lol
Sweet car but that interior is hideous
Thanks for your valuable opinion I'll make sure to change everything to please you😊
“It’s making a little bit of power” 650 🫠🫠
Hahaha right😂🔥
Hey man what’s the Instagram so I can follow you? Max HP?
It’s “MaxHP”! I have been on a hiatus, but hope to resume sooner than later! Thank you 🙏
how THE FUCK is that a "cheap man's ferrari" when you factor the N/A to TT conversion, upgrading all the parts, replacing worn parts and tuning it to 650WHP? for the money he spent on everything, he could've bought a brand new ferrari!
It talks about money spent, and whole build cost in the video! Far from a Ferrari:)!
Quite the bang for your buck!
Built>bought
All that gay popping and banging and flames is the engine not-so-slowly destroying itself. Within 1 year of driving it like that it will be down at least 30% output.
5 years later. Invalid comment 🤡
This Z looks amazing, cant wait to have mine all restored 🥹 so far I’ve only done the entire cooling system and now i can drive it anywhere. Still figuring out what i wanna do next
Have fun with it!! And thanks for watching!
What roof spoiler is that?
I’m not sure what he had! Feel free to message him on Instagram!
