idk why but your videos give off a vibe of waking up early and going to my friends house knocking on the door and waking my buddy’s up in they beds to go walking the creek at 5am, ride our bikes a hour away and get on the fishing journey. love the vids man!!!!
Dang! Yet another sleepless wednesday night. Unlike the first day of deer season I haven't gotten cold nor did I have to get up before the break of dawn. Lol. It's so great to have something to look forward to. Thanks yet again Nick for the awesome fishing adventure.
I loved fishing chico creek for blue gill/bass/ tout/ catfish and Salmon back in the day. Fished probably 70 days a year with my twin when we were younger than teen agers. I do miss that. My twin is awesome. I love him. Love you Dre
I just searched the comments to see if anybody said anything about the illegal fish. Nothing, but I am glad to see that I am not the only one to wonder about it.
I enjoy watching your videos as they remind me of the joy I experienced when I was younger and went through a fishing phase of my own. Congrats on your surprise catch. Keep up the wonderful content!
Man, I'm increasingly grateful for these videos. Just pleasant, positive fishing. Also, I LOVE bluegill, pumpkinseeds, red ears, greens (green meanies) and all the other sunfish. They're aggressive and pound-for-pound great fighters. A sunfishy inlet with a 5' ultralight and 2-4 lb test is 👌👌👌
Nice catch Nick . I'm the opposite of you I've never caught a bowfin on bait . All on artificial . PB is 28" . Gotta land them quick or the gators will try to steal your catch .
Nick: would you ever consider doing a video on a boat out on the lake trolling? Would love to see you get into some stripers and hear your experience with another new type of fishing. Love your channel and rooting for you!
The second spillway is one of my favorite places and is right in my back yard. I target bowfin, bass and perch out of there using my ultralight set up. I was just out there few days ago and caught some beautiful bass and an impressive bowfin
That is funny the spillway that had beautiful water Running down it you got one little fish and that was it.... Then the one that had no water running down it, You got some nice looking fish.
Nice fishing spot and very cool fish. Looks very similar to a Burbot. I fish burbot. In Norway, where I live, they get very dark (almost black) with beautiful yellow/green patterns. And they get biiig:)
Nic what's up man... 2 largemouth bass (the one That you caught in the net was really nice) a nice buffing on a crankbait( That's what I'm talking about) I haven't caught one on a lure yet. Anna big bluegill. Great episode I loved it keep on getting down!
Carolina rig ending with a snap swivel and a treble hook. Unsnap the treble hook, feed the liver through the shaft of the treble hook( this allows all 3 hooks to hold that liver on) . You may also utilize this technique to use a giant glob of liver or other easily picked off baits, wet cat food in pantyhose, fish mash,(smooshing fish) etc misc of the accord. Opportunistic fish are reactive To sensory as others like bass and pickerel, pike are more tuned to active live movement and bait. A Carolina rig with that shafted bait is the game changer
My wife and I caught 17 largemouth bass yesterday for a total weight of right at 40 lbs. It was a nice string all caught on weightless plastic worms (Senko's). Filled up the freezer!
Lol ... I was actually kind of hoping u would target the bass as u dont bass fish much ....... Then i remrmbered that its also why i watch ur channel ! Lolol .... U r the only guy catching Bowfish on UA-cam eh !??? Very cool sport fish if u ask me !
use chicken liver wrapped in cheese cloth in a 1 inch ball and stitch the opening of the cloth closed "it will never fall off" . after the liver is beat up after 10 bites or catches toss on another one or just keep catching them on the stinky cheese cloth. it works. susquahanna river in luzerne county . been fishing it for 40 years. love your videos and i wish we had bowfin here
Dude no joke a big fish pulled my dock demon in the pond and I saw the bobber come up on the other side so I ran over and snagged the line with my friend's bait caster and then a HUGE fish snapped my other rod's 10lb line it was so fun
Love the content man but you shouldn't hold large mouth bass like the way you held the small one. If you grab them by the mouth, keep their body vertical, not horizontal, it puts a lot of strain on their jaw.
I never get tired of hearing Nick say “nice fish, nice fish, nice fish, please stay on”.
That blue gill said " no I have heard of Nick, don't use me as bait". Lol awesome day.
Great video as always Nick. You go to some great fishing holes.
man it’s been a while, been a really rough couple of months but it feels good to relax and get my mind off things for 10 mins. Thank you. 🙏

I was just thinking to myself at 3:05, I wonder if you ever catch a big fish with the net? Lol!
7:16 I recognize that spillway. I may or may not have boarded down it 20 years ago.
Great day and good catches! Have a fun and safe weekend Nick! See you Next adventure! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for the video Nick it's always fun seeing you videos pop up

For all: Bass with the cast net is the “illegal” catch. With bass soon spawning and sitting on beds. Using a cast net would be so unsportsmanlike. 🤘😎
What was illegal?
? Bass with a cast net?
I just searched the comments to see if anybody said anything about the illegal fish. Nothing, but I am glad to see that I am not the only one to wonder about it.
It was the bass with a cast net.
^ that’s correct. You’re not allowed to keep a bass collected via cast net.
Exactly!

In S Florida I catch a lot of Bowfin on lures. From speed worms to spinner baits. Never caught one on a top water lure, yet.
Nice catch Nick . I'm the opposite of you I've never caught a bowfin on bait . All on artificial .

You do the best "B roll", video. 👌
You should try fly fishing for blue gill with top water poppers, it's a lot of fun and good practice.
The slow mo sun shower shots were amazing high quality videography.
I can’t believe you got that bowfin in on that ultralight! That’s awesome!
This is the best fishing channel
Yes indeed

Great videos. Whatbrand/ model drone do you recommend? Thx
I love fishin for anything, you make it better
I'm in Texas, and the bowfin we catch is typically caught on bass lures while we're bass fishing.
Where are you catching bowfin?
I live about 65 miles north of Dallas and haven't ever seen or heard of bowfin up here. 🤔
@@rickbrown7287 Beaumont Texas
@@rickbrown7287 we have some really big ones here. We call them Grinnell or Choupique here and in Louisiana.

Darn Bass! That is not the species that I am targeting today, LOL!
That bluegill hit like a tank. I wasn't expecting a pan fish

My Grandma used to put sugar in her chicken livers. It made them firm up a little and stay on the hook better.
Always awesome brother! What the hell was that species, looked like a snake head almost.
I love the music choices you have
You havent snagged a dozen silver carp lately, what seems to be the issue?
That's one thing that would make your videos tremendously better. That would be if I was also in them fishing with you.
Love to see your trips.
Hey dude I got question! Are you doing overnight fishing sometimes?
Spawning colors on that bowfin.
Great video kinda wish it was a little longer
I'm curious what part of the country are fishing.
How do you keep the chicken liver on? Any ideas besides the pantyhose method?
You should try your luck in SW Michigan.
what species were you trying to target?
Tell you what your an honest and true fisherman thank you
I just love watching his vids
The colors of the fish was awesome.
We catch a bunch of bowling on Square bill crankbait.
We call those bowfins, grinnell. I have caught a nine and a fourteen pounder on artificial lures. They are ferocious fighters.
We call them dogfish. There isn't a lot of them in my neck of the woods and if you catch one over 2 or 3 pounds you've done something
Nice catches 👏
Your b-roll work is 🤌🏻
woww.... big fish😍😍😍
Dude no joke a big fish pulled my dock demon in the pond and I saw the bobber come up on the other side so I ran over and snagged the line with my friend's bait caster and then a HUGE fish snapped my other rod's 10lb line it was so fun
Glad you threw that big bluegill back, they are one of the best fish to eat
It's been a good ten years since I caught a dogfish. I have a picture of one where it has eyes that glow in the dark not quite as bright as a walleye
me, when i go fishing,i fish for what ever i can catch
I once caught a 5lb largemouth in a cast net while netting for bait
My name is sunny dean i am from Pakistan i love you shows because i also love fishing
No way I’m this early! Love your vids man!
Thanks, 618.
IF YOU WANT ANOTHER NEW SPILLWAY TO FISH, TRY THE ONE AT STARVED ROCK STATE PARK

My favorite line is: See ya later, buddy!
What was the target species?
What time of day do you prefer to fish?
Can you fish the grate lakes
Awesome video
Wait.... did you catch the bluegill on the liver?!?
What was the illegal fish species?
The bowfin
Love the content man but you shouldn't hold large mouth bass like the way you held the small one. If you grab them by the mouth, keep their body vertical, not horizontal, it puts a lot of strain on their jaw.
You should start your own channel and put out whatever videos you wish.
Good sized Largemouth in a cast net....doesnt happen everyday! Lol
What was the illegal catch? The bass in the net?
Don't know how I missed this one.
Rapalas are expensive, hate to lose one of those!!
More surprised on how you found such a great spot not infested with burmese
