They disappoint me all the time. I see a band like King Gizz and wonder, "Why can't Tool put out records like that?" 😅 At least every record is a masterpiece. I'm just selfish and want moar.
I'm so glad that you read my comment. TOOL is a once in a lifetime band. Always pull up lyrics with TOOL. They treat the lead singers voice as another instrument. ✌
Tool is my favorite band ever. Loved them for almost 30 years. I suggest Lateralus next, but anything you do will be fire. Always do the lyric videos 🖤🖤
You will not regret reacting to 46 and 2. One of their best songs. Tool, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath are my three favorite all time bands. Number four is Type O Negative. If you want something a little different, check out Love You to Death by them.
Many were first introduced to TOOL with the song Sober. I think that would be a great next step for you. Feeling a little giddy for your inevitable reaction to the Danny Cam. HAHAHA! Peace/JT
Rush has a song with social commentary similar to this one: Territories from the Power Windows album. Grand Designs is another excellent track from that album.
You need to give these guys at least one more chance. Their musicianship will grow on you for sure. They have many different sounds all while somehow still having a personal signature that still lets you know that it’s Tool. Please try 46&2 and/or Lateralus. It may not be your cup of tea but I promise they’re worth a listen. And they may grow on you. Also the lead singer has 2 other bands with a different sound. All of them are great. ✌️
@@AnotherFacelessDigitalNoOne he didn’t say it’s not really my kind of music at the end? He also said maybe they will grow on me. Either way he’s done more and and I’ve watched them all. ✌️
I am SO glad you pulled up the lyrics when you realized you weren't quite catching them. I'm only 2:05 into your reaction(this comment is my reaction essentially) and so far I can tell you're into the music, so this is good. will comment more if I feel I need to. Cheers. (subscribed already).
Really enjoyed you rocking out during the buildup. I think a very good introductory song to check out would be The Pot. Their music is considered 'progressive' so you won't get your normal aaba song format normally. Hope you enjoy their style some more.
This is a deeply philosophical composition! It's only one small taste of an incredibly diverse and masterpiece laden 30 year discography.! You have no idea what you've stumbled upon....YET ... LOL
Maynard, the singer, intentionally keeps his voice in the pocket of the instrumentation. It is his intent to use his voice as one of the instruments. Let the music flow over you and don't worry so much about exactly what he's saying, the lyrics will come to you. Glad you liked them.
Fantastic reaction! Echoing some of the comments. Tool treats vocals as another instrument so it will always sound "lower" when it isn't. Most shows stage Maynard, the lead singer far back on the stage by the drum kit. They want you to feel the music. Instead of trying to bop to the beat, try to sway? It's always going to be a journey with a beginning, long middle, and resolution. It may not be your bag but your reaction was fantastic. Avoid "videos" and yes, pull up the lyrics if you feel comfortable. I'll be that guy dancing like your drunk auntie at the summer BBQ.
I welcome you from the TOOL Army (you'll soon realize what it is and how big and loyal it is). Many compare TOOL and Pink Floyd for the particularity of their compositions, however, the comparison is only partially apt. Pink Floyd were more famous and more innovative for their time. TOOL are greater though.. Not everyone can understand them, but once you have digested their way of making music they become like a religion to you... There is nothing like them. In order not to bother bands like Queen or the Beatles, I'll limit myself to saying that they are the best band, indeed the best music of the last 30 years. However, if I did this from my personal point of view, I would fearlessly say that they have made the best music of the last century.
For me, the fact that Maynard mixes his voice low is an AWESOME choice. It bugs people at first because we are all so accustomed to bands having a focal point “frontman”. Tool has no frontman… they should be enjoyed as a unit, as the greater whole. His voice is another instrument. Tool albums are high IQ musical masterpieces. It’s Art. Every man is a master of his craft. The odd and complex time signatures, the unique riffs… the DEPTH of the lyricism… Tool has no equal. None. And they cannot be labeled as a genre, in my opinion. They. Are. TOOL. That’s the genre. ;-) I highly recommend that you put on your best headphones, turn off the lights, lay alone in the dark away from any camera and listen again to every song you choose to react to. Just for you and you alone. It’s an incomparable experience. Have fun! Spiral out! ☮️
Ps: not being predictable is one of the best things about Tool. I’m a huge music lover… and have eclectic taste. I love pretty much every genre. I cannot count how often I hear a song for the first time and can immediately sing along, know exactly what’s going to happen next, etc. A-A-B-A or whatever. It’s a formula that every dime a dozen musician uses. That may be “music” but it’s NOT Art. It’s mass produced, radio friendly crap for the masses… music that doesn’t scare people away because it’s too intelligent, doesn’t require any thought, blah blah blah. Whereas Tool will ALWAYS surprise you. They aren’t lazy. They aren’t seeking to appeal to the lowest denominator. Every song is a symphony. Every album is a masterpiece. It’s music for the BEST of us… music that challenges you, makes you think, makes you feel… and maybe even changes you. I hope you keep diving down this rabbit hole. It’s so so SO deep. You’ll enjoy it. 🎶
TOOL is well worth exploring further. Indeed they are rather unorthodox, but I have a feeling they will grow on you. The Pot would be a great choice for a follow-up. It has a nice mix of everything that makes them such a special band.
If you like a more consistent flow in terms of skng structure. I recommend THE POT. It speaks on hypocrisy and pointing fingers at the wrong person. Very good track 100% recommend.
They are wizards of sonics and lyrics. They will never disappoint. The best journey you'll ever experience!

This reaction made my night! 💚✨ Welcome to the Tool rabbit hole friend!
I tell folks: TOOL is as if Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush and Black Sabbath had a musical prodigy child!!
I tell people , Pink Floyd , Led Zeppelin , The Doors and Black Sabbath. I say The Doors because Jim Morrison was a poet as is Maynard
@@SkindrixX And Metallica...

Just the tip of the iceberg. Every moment that Tool has recorded is worth your attention.
Try The Pot. Most people love that one.
That was awesome
