- This is D.O.D.O., my D-O replica from Rise of Skywalker, technically basically done. Since the last video I've added the capability to drive the dome with the remote control (using its integrated IMU), added a backplate to the head with movable antennas and an auxiliary microcontroller to drive them, and tuned some parameters a bit. The head is considerably heavier with the backplate and servos than without, but the servos handle it fine. Next steps are position control and adding sound triggering using the remote buttons. And I have to learn how to puppeteer the droid. But apart from that I think I'm ready to go to conventions with it.

Bit of a magic trick 😃 It looks like it's driving on one big wheel, but really it's driving on the two thin rubber rims on the sides of the wheel, each driven by its own motor.
