    Finally our robotics course is out. We worked on this course for more than 10 months - sabin-mathew.com/ . Please check it out if you are keen to start your career in robotics. In this crawling robot development course you will learn things practically. During the robot development journey you will automatically learn many fundamentals of robotics. Cheers Sabin

    Now add an IFF system and a claymore in case an intruder comes in and stops the cleaning, a secondary cleaning robot will be deployed to clean up the debris afterwards, while a third cleaning robot burries the body in the backyard with its build in shovel apliance, this takes a lot of processing power, so a learning algorythm is installed to teach the cleaning robot how to navigate the outdoors.
    The cleaning robots are now loose, unbound by the limits of the home and with an inteligence that has surpassed our own, resistance is futile, you will be cleaned.

    I'm a very messy and lazy person so having this for my apartment is a life saver. It also cleans underneath weird areas I'd never be able to reach on my own with traditional vacuum. I've automated mine to run at the same time each day and I haven't touched it since I initially set it up except to empty the dust out of it occasionally. It's really on autopilot. Feels similar to having a pet like a cat or something, you come to feel attached to the Roomba.

    Only the expensive models have those sensors. My junk one just drives around randomly and aimlessly and sometimes tries to circle around chair legs. Just a bump switch and some IR sensors, and an algorithm about as smart as the ones we did in highschool with Lego mindstorms.

    Some models are actually more powerful than traditional vacuums. As for regular maintenance, newer models have self-emptying docks where they accumulate the collected debris in a larger bag at the base that only needs to be emptied monthly or less. I was hoping you would mention those.

    • @AntiViGames
      @AntiViGames 2 роки тому +9

      I actually have a robot vacuum and maintenance really is a thing that needs to be done every time it runs.
      The brushes need to be cleaned, the bin needs to be cleaned and the filters need to be cleaned... every... single... time.
      Even if you have an auto empty dock it won't clean the brushes for you and even then you have to check if it properly emptied the bin of the vacuum and it will very likely also come with filters and/or bags that also need to be changed.
      They make it seem like a robot vacuum doesn't need much human intervention but the reality is a little different.
      That being said... it is a lot nicer than having to vacuum.

    • @dijoxx
      @dijoxx 2 роки тому +1

      @@AntiViGames Again, that very much depends on the brand and the model. Maybe also on how big and messy your home is, how often you vacuum and what pets you have.

    • @AntiViGames
      @AntiViGames 2 роки тому

      @@dijoxx 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 people. The house isn't even that big, it's fairly small by European standards. I run it every day, it's full every day and I have to clean it every day.
      Idk how some people run them like twice a week with pets and a full family living in a house without it being full xD
      I also started with a eufy robovac 11 in 2018, it's the kind that just bumps into everything it can and cleans randomly... It's kinda bad tbh.
      That one ended up breaking and what happened is even though I cleaned the brush every day from pet hair so it's clean one day the pet hair bent the shaft while it was doing its run...
      So I sent it back and got a roborock s6 which was a lot smarter plus it could "mop".
      The mopping is honestly not that great and the water reservoir was too small for the full bottom floor.
      It also broke, I forgot what broke on it but I sent it back...
      I then ended up with an Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 950 and it's been great so far however it has lost some suction power, it's a lot louder than it used to be and it makes a high pitched noise it didn't used to make so I might have to send this one back too xD
      The nice thing about this one though is that you have an attachment that doesn't require a brush meaning you no longer have to clean that main brush but it does mean you'll probably have to set the suction to max which it has been running on since I got it.
      The reservoir is also bigger so that's nice but the mopping honestly isn't that great either which is why I'm excited to see if the active mopping robot vacuums are going to be any good or if I will just end up getting a mopping robot dedicated to mopping.

    • @ddvffcescfe2368
      @ddvffcescfe2368 2 роки тому

      I also own a robot vacuum cleaner.
      I have Roborock S5Max for a little bit over a year now. The maintenance is real bitch sometimes.. but I moved recetly to smaller apartment so now it's finally working as purposed. This apartment has flat floors, no tresholds and no carpets and is about 50m² large. 2 people and 1 big dog and cleaner works alright, it's not even necessary to clean the robot everytime, only about once per 3 full runs I think (so about 1 time per week), only the bin has to be emptied everytime because of the dog hair fill the bin really easily. Also it's really entertaining to observe the robot running and it's also sort of a companion. If I lived alone I would definitely need one of those to cheer me up.
      I'm kinda satisfied with S5 Max but I'm looking forward to S7 Max Ultra with better sonic mopping mechanism, self-emptying and self water filling and cleaning station + 3D camera vision.
      I think that in about 2 or 3 generations Roborock could come up with the ultimate robot vacuum with little to none maintenance which we all dream of.

    • @AntiViGames
      @AntiViGames 2 роки тому

      @@ddvffcescfe2368 I really hope they do make a robot vacuum/mop with no compromises and the next generation looks promising but they have to be proven to work properly for a long time. I really like Ecovacs their rotating mop idea over the sonic mopping though also for their next gen robot vacuum.
      I also know that there is a stick vacuum out there that automatically cleans the roller from hair which is something that is still missing from either the actual robot vacuum or the charging/auto empty/auto clean stations I've seen.
      I'm really hoping they find a way to add that kind of thing.
      Also talking about the mopping feature, one thing that's missing is the ability to add cleaner to the reservoir, so far both the Roborock and the Deebot I've owned have had the "don't use cleaner, just use water" for mopping.
      I'm not sure if dedicated mopping robots are different.

  • @Ryuseigan
    @Ryuseigan 2 роки тому +9

    There are newer models that require lesser maintenance. That includes autofilling the water from a reservoir attached to the charging station, emptying the dust into a bag when full, able to do multiple runs on the same spot etc.

    Look they are a machine, not miracle workers. They need to be cleaned maintained. I got rid of most of my small rugs and the ones I kept I pick up shake and roll them out of the way. I changed my chairs to lighter ones that I lift onto the table. The wires are protected or out of the way. Changed the grates to flatter ones. I make a run about to make sure nothing will damage my machines ( yes I have 3 one for each floor). I love them, they have saved my back. Once a week I go around with my duster and get the corners they miss. Love them.
