    My biggest issue with the new mech is the 2 use limit. If I'm going to take something more limited than an orbital laser, it better be better than an orbital laser.

      But yeah there's a point there, The laser is toss and forget while the mech takes some skill to use.

      I actually have to say otherwise, only ac couple shots to take out factory’s, and it good at taking out most enemies at least for bots, I’d say it does it’s job as a mech.

      I mean, the mech kind of is, it can take down all of the things and orbital laser can, it boosts your travel, it's not one use, you can close bug holes with it, you can just melee or walk on bugs to kill them (all of this stuff applies to the bots too) and it you can actually aim it and point to where you want your damage to go

      If you're game is taking more then 30min, that's probably a failure 1 more mech won't fix. (Adding more use with out adjusting cool down would do nothing)

    I think that when you open the stratagem menu the hatch on the top of the walker should pop open and then you punch in whatever stratagem and the helldiver will throw it out of the open hatch. Just a thought.

    The last time we toyed with “experimental” tech was with the TCS tower system trying to deal with the bugs, and that essentially blew up in our faces. So I totally can’t see anything going wrong with the dark fluid.

    The new mech is very situational. Its a great way to drop in, survive a ton of damage, and dish out a ton of damage to smaller enemies. My issues so far are the very low ammo, the strange issue with the mech not being able to hit below a fairly shallow angle, and inaccuracy at close range. If these could be fixed or made easier to work around, it would become a terrific tool. For the ammo issue, perhaps having Eagle 1 come in and pick up your mech, then they drop it off for reloading and you can call it in much quicker; if its left or destroyed, you have to wait the full cooldown to call another one.

      Tbh, why would anyone drop in a mech just to deal with mobs? It's takes 10 minutes per mech and you have only 2 with limited ammo. I think the current state of the mechs would be fine if you could repair or resupply but it still would feel underwhelming.

      @@doitlive9214 You can take more damage? The Mech doesn't carry orbital bombs... you can clear two squads coming in of Devastators in a few seconds while receiving a couple of their rockets, you would understand if you'd play level 9.
      Of course the Mech is useless if you play on 7 and below.

    I think it won’t just be that we shoot the planet with a Death Star-type laser, my speculation is that we’ll have to manually plant the dark fluid charges on the surface of Meridia while combatting new bugs. So hyped

      @@BlackTempleGaurdian I forget how long ago it was but I saw leaked models from one of these channels of an objective that drilled into the ground, thinking about it now, this is very likely what that model was going to be used for. It would’ve been cool to deathstar meridia or go inside terminid tunnels, but, it’ll still be cool to be liberating the undemocratic hellscape that the surface of Meridia now is.

    they need to make it possible to reload the ammo in the mechs, like if you have a supply pack or resupply drop it should take all four ammo boxes to refill it, have the mech kneel down and have a little hatch open where you insert the ammo boxes, two for each arm

      Nah leave it with no reload but make the weapons it has powerful, patriot mech rockets should have EAT-17 damage and the machine gun should be as strong as the Heavy machine gun stratagem, and the emancipator autocannon should hit as hard as the turret version
      Then they’ll be powerful but also limited, and that’ll be balanced

    In Helldivers 1, you could launch your stratagem beacons while inside the mechs (using a little tube launcher thing, had a very satisfying sound and everything). I don't know why they removed that

      ...... I don't consider Auto Cannons Anti Tank, Like they CAN but you have to hit weak points. I'm sure we will get more vehicles in the future that have proper Anti Tank weapons. Like the "Lumberer" with its Flamer and AT cannon arm or the Bastion Tank Destroyer.

    i feel the main reason why the auto cannon turret does more damage than other autocannons is because it pretty much exclusively shoots for the week points while the other we have to aim unreliably at times

    This is super useful to know:
    Bile Titan head (armor level 5): 750 health
    Eat/Recoilless/quasar cannon (Armor pen 6) = 750 damage.
    That' means one shot brings them to deaths door, but we don't have basically any weapons with armor pen 5+ that can give it a gentle tap across the line to the next life. (technically the overcharged rail cannon and thermite grenade could both dink it for 100 and finish it off). HOWEVER, the new mech has AP 5 and does (after taking half damage per shot) 30 damage per shot. So, the mech can 4 hit headshot kill the titan if you first warm it up with one quasar shot to the forehead.
    From start to finish, you need to land 25 headshots on a bile titan with the new mech, but after one quasar cannon it only takes 4.

    They should give us the option on most weapons to change to a better ammo, but so it's not overused, just have it in a reasonably limited amount.
    Like when you hold the RELOAD button to select weapon options, give us things like explosive ammo, incendiary ammo, or say 5/6 grenades (like as an assault rifle underbarrel option), HE rounds on the mechs etc.
    It would add an extra layer to each weapon, and make them far more flexible.

    Helldivers 1 AC mech had 500 ammo, more armor, including a eject warning! a smidge quicker and could shoot stratagems out. patriot had same buffs

    You don't have that right, Sty. "Durability" is separate from Armour Penetration. Every weapon has (at least) two damage values: base damage and durable damage. The amount of durability that an enemy has determines how much of which is used. Bile Titans have 100% durability everywhere on their body, meaning weapons use just their durable damage value. The Emancipator Autocannons deal 600 base damage but only 60 durable damage, meaning they're hitting Bile Titans for 60. However, the Autocannons also have 5 armour penetration and the Bile Titan has 5 armour everywhere. When a weapon's armour penetration matches target armour, it only deals half damage. In other words, the Emancipator Autocannons deal 30 damage per shot to the Bile Titan's head, while that head has 750 health. That's a minimum of 25 shots. Explosive damage is completely disregarded against Bile Titans as well, because that only has 3 armour penetration and so doesn't affect them. Chargers have only 70% durability and AC5 everywhere, so the weapon does a little under 100 damage per shot to them.
    By contrast, the Autocannon Sentry has 300/300 impact damage (so 300 always, even against 100% durability) with AC5, while the man-portable Autocannon has 240/240 with AC4. The Sentry can damage every enemy in the game anywhere on their body for a minimum of 150 per shot, while the Autocannon Sentry can only penetrate up to "Medium 2" armour, but also always deals full damage. Explosive damage is the same across all Autocannons (and most other explosives in the game) at 150/150 damage and AC3 (so "Medium 1").
    In other words, the Emancipator Mech is only suited for non-durable enemies.

      Indeed. They can do that if they want to be a lifeless corpse against a wall.. but no worries.
      We will ensure that they identify as the mortar, so it’s not murder.
      Besides.. why call reinforcements when you can identify as reinforcements yourselves?
      It could save you some time you know.

    Easy solution for titans, if you destroy the sack they bleed out. Even if it takes likes like 2 min for it to happen it makes a lot more weapons viable against them.

    Mechs should have a self destruct the player can use once it runs out of ammo.
    Maybe even have it walk in a specific direction and then blow up like a hellbomb.

    I think what we need, and may get once more vehicles become available, is a whole new selection of ship modules that provide buffs for mechs, and apcs etc. Things like reduced cooldown, increased ammo capacity & damage resistance.

    There is a operation i didn't complete about the element bugs one, it has now changed to a collect dark fluid operation, where it gives me a backpack stragagem to recolect dark fluid and transport it to a deposit

    Idk, I feel like the dark matter might mutate the bugs, as we still haven't seen the giant worm from the first Helldivers yet. Mutate the super-colony and have it spread from there would make sense to me. Plus, Super Earth doesn't want to eradicate the bugs for their oil. So wiping out the super-colony wouldn't make beneficial sense for them.

    The mech should be customisable per helldiver. You could use samples or requisitions to unlock different features such as weapons & mobility options.

    I chewed through half my ammo on both guns from that mech last night, on just one Bile Titan. This was repeatedly shooting it in the face. I also watched it tank a full orbital laser, while 3 others shot it with whatever they had. I think they're bugged, because sometimes they fall over like paper tigers, and others seem to tank everything for minutes on end.

    I've been using the mech on diff 7 to take out hordes and the mid-level termanids. Then pop out and throw a rail cannon if needed. And hope your team has more anti heavy, too.
    The splash damage against lots of bugs is pretty great.

    Not going to lie once they fix the spear that is going to massively improve the game fighting against terminids because you can one shot bile titans as long as you can aim the rocket towards its head and with the fixed lock on mechanic then we'll be able to shoot at opportune moments. You could go out of your way to bring the spear and not have to bring the 500 kg bomb because now you can just aim for the head and always one shot out Titans.

      I've been running the spear recently, and despite the fix for the lock on not being present, it's still a good weapon. I've been able to take down 2-3 bile titans with a spear/500kg combo in one go.

      @@villain9953 Yeah but the crazy thing about the spear fix is that when it happens you won't even need to bring the 500 kg because you'll be able to one shot bile titans consistently. Because of the fact that the spear will take care of all of the heavy targets you can go out of your way to only bring crowd control stratagems like the cluster bomb, the napalm strike and the incendiary mines. Essentially you can make the perfect flame build without the flamethrower replaced with the spear and it would be insane. Hell it might even be meta.

    Terminids should have some weak spot similar to robot eye, small weakspot that require precise shooting but allows to use weapons like AC, AMR, Laser Cannon and so on to deal with them.

    The mech takes out the BT spitting with body shots fine making it an easy target for the rest of the squad. It’s a good mech if used properly and to its strengths. Charger legs or rear are also the way if needed.

    If I had to guess, I would say that they'll add a section of ship module upgrades specifically for the mechs or group them in with the sentries. At least that's what I'd do.

    Bile titan has never been an issue for me and my squad we run spear, heavy round turret 500kg etc and we run over them. Most bug enemies die to shotgun/rover and then you just run 1-2 anti tank stratagems for the rest.

    I feel like if they just had bile titans bleed out faster it'd be fine. Right now I think breaking all the sacs will kill it in like 5 to 6 minutes, make that 1 or 2 and I could see it being a last resort strat to break sacs and kite them.

    Most if you didn't even realize that they buffed the patriot mech and it now 2 shots or even 1 shots bile titans. The mechs are ment for diffrent versions of enemy's, it's easier to get players to diversify there loadoutsand for the chargers it takes a few more if not well placed. But to deal with that just use the rail gun. It can now 2 shot the leg on chargers as of the recent buff

    I have a thought Remove the one mech restriction and add a strategem mech resupply station every player can call it down once per mission and that way if we have being a mech specialist the other three players can give them a mech resupply

    If you could bring both mech the Ammo managment is not that bad (I tried this strategy durin the free trial) problem is the cooldown but with two mech you can have 1 every 5 minutes if you don't waste ammo like no tommorrow.
    In terms of which is the best the patriotic is better for the bugs while the emancipator I think is better for bots.
    I used the 2 mech in both mission (with bugs and bots) if dual mech where allowed it may be a good and fun way to mitigate the weakness of the machines

    To use battletech as a reference, we use an ac 5, sentry used an ac10, the mech looks like it uses ac2s

    I think bile titans should be killable on the bile sac with medium penetration weapons (of course, after A LOT of shots). It also would soft buff all medium penetration weapons and the autocannon wich struggles a bit against the bugs.

    Yesss! same thing I was saying, the auto cannon sentry does way more damage than the mech, at this point i just use the mech for crowd control on the small guys, I don't bother with seriously trying to take down chargers or Titans when I'm in the mech, it's a waste of ammo

    My problem with the mechs is the limit of 2 per game with also an absurd cooldown of 10+min. I will still occasionally use them but that's more out of boredom and needing something to spice up the game.

    I think it would be awesome for them to have the major orders that bring us buffs on some weapons and stratagems . And if we fail the major order we also fail to get those buffs hahaha.

    I love the new mech, it shreds anything lower than a bile titan, the issue is that you can only bring one mech on a mission. (Barring a bug where you can get both). That's one of the few things holding it back. It's so frustrating, especially since in Helldivers 1 you could bring all vehicles and still be effective. The whole thing feels like a 'Balance Decision'.

    The ammo will be a problem, so will the cool down, but atm it can be worked around by taking the stratagem and it can be called twice per 10 minutes.
    The real problems imo are (1) the aiming. It's atrocious. And (2) it literally alerts everything in the map.
    The bots on the turrets are like 3 pixels across and they start shooting and then call drop ships. And I can't hit them because of the aiming. It can miss a target 20 feet away by 10 feet so a bot 1 mile away is almost impossible to hit.

    The issue with the Bile Titan is, their armor is on top, so most stratagems will be hitting thick armor. You can tell because if a 500kg hits the top and goes off they’ll live, along with rail cannon strikes, orbital lasers, and eagle strikes.
    The reason the Tanks get killed by those is because of their weakspot pointing up, hulks too but they have less health like the chargers.
    I great way to solve this issue would be to decrease the armor value by 1 for the bile Titan. But that might make them wayyy too easy.

    I really think the mechs should have a strategem launcher where you can call in orbs from the suit. Would make it way more viable. That way I’m not using all my ammo in it just because otherwise I’d have to get in and out all the time.

    Hit a bile titan with an anti tank in the head once then its just 8 shots or so with the mech which is fast to unload

    Armor and anti-armor needs an overhaul. The new CEO said it right when he expressed concern over the TTK "time to kill".
    Addressing that will by default address the feel of heavy weapons in the game.
    For example; it stands to reason that an "anti-tank" munition is anti tank against all armor and from every direction.

    I once had FIVE Bile Titans in an extermination mission, literally no where to run due to the small space. I only stood a chance by running out of bounds and being a traitor to get the infinite orbital bombardment. What I know about the new mech from other videos is that while the sentry AC does 300 dmg and 300 durable dmg, the new mech only does 60 durable dmg per gun. Btw, durable dmg is the amount dealt to armored units like Charger. So if I fire both guns at the same time, I would deal 120 durable dmg.
    I guess the sentry AC Is more powerful because we can't control it, but even then, a normal hand carried AC does 260 durable damage, so there should be no reason that the new mech's durable dmg is much weaker.

    The public Discord of Helldivers 2 is constantly filled with negativity. Every day someone writes "is the game dead?" and a huge discussion breaks out. Then the next person brings up the PSN issue again, and in the meantime, people argue for hours.
    Then there are the "Bug-Divers" and the "Bot-Divers" who apparently don't want anything to do with each other and blame each other when a Major Order isn't successful.
    If the "Illuminate-Divers" join in, we might as well not even start MOs with "Kill X amount of" because too few people will participate in the end.

    what i would change on the new mech :
    -Ammo from 75 to 100
    -Penetration damage from 60 to 150 (in the end it's far less than the other autocannons who are at 300 pen damage but it would be pretty balanced)
    -The ammo backpack can reload 8% of the ammo on the mechs by charge (so a full backpack on a mech would be 32% of the ammo)

    First let me say I enjoy the mech as it is currently, but if their is desire to make it more viable against heavy armour then make the cannons the same as the auto cannon sentry damage wise and reduce ammo count to 50 per arm (100 total)
    Ingame lore reasoning, prototype was loaded with lower charge munitions upon further structural development munitions with a higher charge are now able to be used, due to the increased weight to each shell the capacity is to be reduced to maintain mobility.
    + armour damage
    + mech health (30%, can survive one direct bile titan spew)
    - munitions capacity 75->50 per arm

    They definitely need to add a reload stratagem for vehicles not just mech, even if it’s one resupply per vehicle called in. Especially if they plan on adding a stratagem to repair vehicles, plus It’d be nice to have a vehicle engineer build in the game. Lol

    mechs in general need quality of life update, compared to HD1 a lot of features are missing for example u could use stratagems inside ur mech in the first game

    i think a quad barrel ac mech should do at least them same as ac turret. though i know the sentry is a larger caliber based on the size of the barrel. its really good for spewers though. works great with the patriot mini gun/rocket mech in tandem. my squads been running both and covering each other. mini gun the smalls. ac the larger guys, rocket the bt and chargers

    Personally, the Bile Titan might need some tweaks to its armour. Less durable to multiple hits, exposing the flesh that has no AP defence nor modifiers to your weapons.
    I reckon the most important change would be to grant mobility kills to the Bile Titan, focused on Joints for double damage, standard Health pool for the whole leg otherwise.
    1 leg is 30% slower, 50% less stomp attacks.
    2 legs is 70% slower and 80% less Stomp attacks.

    From my perspective it seems that the AH balance team is still trying to make a game with their 5000 players from hell divers 1 in mind. The mechs that we have been given are pretty much one for one copies from the first game in terms of ammo and usefulness. (At least the patriot was until they "fixed" it and now its rockets are made by nerf and sighted by the blind) The lens that most current HD2 players look at items through usually comes to "is this item useful at difficulty 7+?" If the answer is no, most would consider the weapon pointless or "pre-nerfed." The auto-cannon mech from HD1 was a horde clearing mech that couldn't even damage chargers, so the one we have been given is technically an upgrade.
    The problem comes down to content release and availability timing to the player. With a DLC purchase in HD1 players could bring 4 different mechs and have a grand old time up through difficulty 6 while leveling. In HD2, however, mechs can't be purchased until lvl 25... at which point most players will be pushing into, if not playing in, lvl 7+.
    Another problem is hype scope. In the HD universe, mechs are mass produced walking weapon platforms with paper for armor like WWII Sherman tanks. When most people either new, or not knowledgeable, to the HD universe think of mechs they think of something from battletech, gundam, armored core, pacific rim, etc. They are expecting a giant, unstoppable (other than by another mech or kaiju) killing machine.
    This means AH needs to make a choice. They can keep to their current lore narrative and just have bored or curious players use mechs a few times and then stop because there are much better options, or they can make a fun game for their current player base and make the mechs have tremendous damage output while having limited ammo as they already have. I, for one, will use them regardless because I loved bringing 4 mechs on mission in the first game and am impatiently waiting for them to mention the multiperson tank destroyer coming to HD2. I get a certain sense of satisfaction using the autocannon mech to reap spewers. It is just annoying that I have to dance around armored targets while doing so.

    I don't mind that the Bile Titans are super tough.
    I mind that the game spams them at us like a DM with a grudge against the party. Defensive mission on lvl 9; four titans spawned within 2 minutes.

    you can also clear out groups of hulks if you use it correctly I had a match where 7 hulks were charging my squad and I killed them very easily with the mech honestly how is it bad if you can literally kill groups of an increasingly frustrating enemy than can literally one tap you with a flamethrower or buzzsaw yeah bring explosive weapons except there's a full group of them and everyone is reloading their weapons and they have already made it to you at least the new mech can help solve that problem.

    5:01 people aren't saying the mechs are trash because they think its trash. they're doing this for two reason. 1) so it doesn't get nerfed and 2) so they can buff it back to that stats it had before it was released

    9:31 god forbit something is balanced, if the emancipator could kill everything and have a lot of ammo then everything else would be obsolete, I think it’s fine how it is, if you’re playing on a high level then definitely bring a stratagem or 2 that can deal with the heavy bois, that 110 eagle strike and the regular eagle strike with a flame thrower and the emancipator is chefs kiss for any bile Titan and charger same for tanks and walkers

    I'm pretty ok with how the mechs are in the game, I'm fine with the ones we have now being viable against bugs but caving against bots. I think the next to mechs we should get are both defense focused, which would make them viable at the bots since they can touch you at all ranges.
    Have a mech with a huge ballistic shield like Heavy Devestators, that will allow you to mitigate fire from the front and reduce explosives damage. The second should be a mech with a short duration Shield Array that works off a cooldown similar to the Jetpack. This can cover both you, for when you see a rocket devestator opening up or a Tank or turret tower turning at you, but as well as provide cover for your team.
    I think Stylos is right in that this particular pattern of mech isn't bad, I feel like people hyper fixate too much on the heavy units. We have so many solutions to them, and have had them for some time now. I think for a small adjustment the mech could use more ammo, I would say double it if they aren't going to touch the damage or durable damage stats.

    I almost never take dedicated anti tank weapon on bugs,bc i like to use flammenwerfer, or arc thrower. But i always take precision strike or 500kg. Usually i don't struggle against titans. That is when i know that some other teammate uses anti tank. I only play 9, and i can(almost) reliably kill titans.

    I think to make the Emancipator a better anti-bot weapon, they should've given it one turret-level autocannon, and replaced the other arm with a tower shield, or maybe a small shield generator. The extra cannon's a novelty at best.
