The display on the x-sense is cool, looks like it might be hard to see once the device is installed on the ceiling. I did just purchase three X-sense CO alarms.
An employee at a large cryogenics company I worked for had a natural gas leak in their home and his whole family perished.
The way to protect yourself against gas leaks (combustible gases like propane and natural gas) is to get a combustible gas alarm. A co alarm will only detect carbon monoxide.
I’m curious about the Wi-Fi / App features… such as, do you get notifications on the app when you’re away from home?
The X-Sense is not tested and not UL listed, I would not use them and will be sending mine back to Amazon.
The kidde announces CO vs Fire. Also kidde makes a unit that displays ppm. Regardless this industry needs a shakeup with better detectors.
So they r throw aways after the battery runs dead in 10 years
I’ve had the worst experiences with First Alert. Both smoke and the combos. Every single one that’s I’ve had goes off constantly for no reason. And I don’t mean the CO detector one either. I mean their smoke only systems have been brand new out of the box and within a couple of months of having them they start to go nuts and won’t stop. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve had to remove them pretty often. Not a good feeling when it’s your house and your family you’re trying to protect. Basically what brought me here and now that I hear you say Kidde is part of first alert I am glad I didn’t purchase them. I do have 2 Kidde alarms in my house and those are the only 2 that have never given me an issue thank god. Something is better than nothing. I’ll keep looking though
How has the testing of the X-Sense been going? I'm looking to buy the X-Sense XP02-WR for its Interconnected and Voice features telling you where the alert originated, but then I saw a guy on UA-cam compare X-Sense and Kidde and the X-Sense seemed to perform poorly, with a delay in alerting on smoke up to 65 seconds and sometimes not at all whereas the Kidde alerted in 10 seconds each time. What are your thoughts on the X-Sense today? Here is a link to that video. ua-cam.com/video/iKOWYyNyHh0/v-deo.html&pp=ygUQeC1zZW5zZSB2cyBraWRkZQ%3D%3D

@@Kirby7601 I’m just talking about that specific modal
Kidde has ULC for Canada. X-Sense - UL only.
Kidde
Safety company
American pronunciation
Sounds like
ki·duh :)
I'm supposing ulc is better?
I have autism and don’t like any that scream or make noise if they blink doesn’t bother me at least there quite or don’t make a any noise or small amounts of noise if they scream a lot I have anxiety and sleep issues
Better to have some anxiety from a loud smoke detector than no anxiety because you died in the fire.
That blink may cause you to lose your life if you are in a deep sleep or facing away from the strobe light
