Just saw this video. I checked the x sense site out. They are very reasonable in price and I'm so totally getting these for our 50s rancher we have been living in for 22 years and renovating. Doing bathroom main bathroom now.
I would recommend practicing a few times putting the cover on the base while not on the wall. Once you get a hang of the feel it’s easy to put on the ceiling/wall when it’s being mounted.
Thank you. I too have already ordered 3 and intend adding to later. Having seen your video, it does look easier than I first thought. But happier with what you have shown.
When I see you, the face of a very kind and hard-working man comes to my mind. Your efforts and skills are praiseworthy and I hope one day I can work with you.👏👏👏♥️
it's been about a year now. have you had any false positives? I hate ours in our house because of the extremely late night false positives and trying to get 2 little kids back to sleep after that is rough.
Get video, purchased and received 2 6pk (big home). I made sure 1 6pk was working properly and all interconnected. Opened 2nd pack, removed the battery clear tab on 1 alarm, pressed the test button 4x to interconnect to the original 6 and nothing happened. Instructions show how to disconnect interlink, which I did that too and then tried to reconnect the 7th alarm and still no link. I have not touched the other 5 alarms (battery tab pulled) as I figured this would be easiest way to link. I also tried pairing while the alarms were down (like in your video) and then while mounted on the wall. Any thoughts or ideas as to what I am doing wrong? You are the only video that actually shows how linking different multi-packs. Thanks in advance.
Smoke detectors do not go in bathrooms. The steam will trigger them, plus damage the sensors over time. Especially the thermal optic sensors. I had one outside my bathroom door (Fire Angel) and even that got destroyed 2 years into its 7 year warranted lifespan. Otherwise good video, I am considering these as I want to go interlinked rather than the current standalone. My house has one in each bedroom, one in the lounge, plus the downstairs and upstairs hall. My kitchen has a heat sensor, my attic and shed also have heat sensors. The kitchen also has a carbon monoxide sensor. I have also got both a CO and a Water extinguisher downstairs and a water on the upstairs landing. In my next house I intend to install the Nest System, as it texts you if there is smoke detected and when the alarm sounds the alarm announces where the fire is. In addition I will also add FD 30 fire doors and automist sprinklers (worth a look). Some years ago my great uncle died in a fire, it could have been prevented like many deaths by fire. Fire saftey is a small investment but probably one of the best you will ever make. I am also trained in fire saftey and to extinguish in flight aircraft fires. You have less than 7 minutes from ignition to flashover (everything around you automatically combusts temperatures reaching 700 degrees centigrade). That is such a short time. If you are asleep then you need to get children out the house, there is smoke it would be utterly terrifying. Alarms are vital, but adding fire doors and alarms that tell you where the fire is would buy you at least 30 minutes. Adding automatic sprinklers would have the fire extinguished within that 7 minute window in most circumstances before the fire crew even get there. Potentially saving lives and your home. It’s worth considering if you have the means to do so.
Unfortunately these aren't compliant with new Scottish Laws re interlinked detectors as they have to have 10yrs min. sealed unit battery life. I'm hoping someone might upload a video showing a list of which models ARE compliant with the new regulations as its already a nightmare finding units that comply, & work.
10 years is stupid considering you can change batteries in these. Check if that applies only to smoke detectors for which you can't change the battery.
Potential purchasers from other sources please be aware, the "XS01-WT", which is identical in every way to the XS01-WR displayed in this video does not allow interconnection with other detectors. Only the XS01-WR alarm can be interconnected with other X-Sense wireless smoke alarms! WR=yes WT=NO
This becomes Scottish law from February 2022 all properties must have interconnected smoke alarms within the household failing this its will nil invoid your property fire nsurance . Just ordered a full set including a heat sensing alarm separate for the kitchen before people catch on and stock s are very limited. People in Scotland must be aware of this law change as was delayed due to Covid .
@@TheFixerHomeRepair Just kidding on this end too. I was surprised she didn't say something when you were testing them. She must have been out of the house. The alarms are so annoying.

Those are cool. I install fire alarms and I think these are pretty sweet for a DIYer homeowner as far as fire safety goes
Love the size and easy setup. Just ordered 3 packs. Thank you!!

Simple setup. Looking forward to the bathroom remodel buddy 🙂🛠
Thanks, man--super helpful. 💪🏽 Ordering some right now.

I bet you're fun to live with 😜 Thank you for the product reviews!
Them X-Sense detectors reminds me of the First Alert P1000 Adam smoke alarms
Also great video!
They do
Yeah
Thanks for showing the drilling part. All the other videos only show the bracket already installed.
Thank you for reminding me to buy some new ones!!!
Is it suppose yo say stand by mode on the app
Can I connect XS01-WR smoke alarms to an app? I am trying to add them to the X-sense base station with no success
I’m in an rv. Do I have to mount it?
Informative! Thanks!
No problem! Thanks for watching!

Apparently they have the ul logo in their site, so i guess they are certified?
I’m getting sent a 6 pack of these and I’m really looking forward to having them!
How did you stopped them ? :))
love the testing part bro.. from the note to the facial gesture to your your wife calling out to you hahahahaaaaa...
Does anyone know if this brand and model is Fire Marshal Code compliant in the state of Florida???
Great question, Dimitar. I am not sure as I am in MA. It is always a good idea to check with your local codes.
Thanks for sharing Smoke alarms should not be installed in a bathroom because the steam from a hot shower or bath will often trigger the alarm
Great video! Thanks! Has anyone had any false alarms due to cooking smoke/steam? That's my last concern before buying it.
how can one stop the blinking light on it?
Where you buy?
Soo how you know from wich room come the smoke if all sound at same time?
Well first instinct to a lot of people if smoke is not in ur room or floor then it’s been set off downstairs I hope that answers your question??
Thank you so much
i thought they were supposed to come pre linked but mine weren't. the other day, only one went off
What is the range?
Also Will is pass city inspection?
The best part how to annoy the wife 😂😂😂😂
🤣

Your co2 machine should be where the heating installation is installed...
Good evening

I'm going to trust them says the dude with no working smoke detectors 🤣. Great video as always
www.patreon.com/thefixer
alway mount a smoke alarm on all of the floors on your house
How to upset the wife.
😁🤣
Don't be fooled, The fixer has a 3 pack and the link shows a 1 pack price- these are at least $29.99 EACH
30% off for purchases over $200 doesn't work anymore
Smokes don’t belong in bath
Bedrooms. Outside bedrooms
And halls.
Why would you want to annoy your wife?!
Hey Leslie! Just having a little fun. 😁
