    Thanks for the advice about loosening the top to slide the roofing in. Was confused on how to slide them in up there. 🤙🤙

    Why would you not show how to put the roof panels on. That was the most confusing part and you offered no explanation

    You put the upper angle support brackets for the four main posts in backwards. The textured side should be shown same side as with the post on the outside. Helpful video to let me know what to encounter thank you.

    Sweet. Looks good and definitely picked up a few tips. I have their 12' X 16' on the way. I think I will use Blue Loctite on all threads just to make sure they stay in place. Ditto on thanks for videoing this as the same time of assembly.

      Mine’s been holding up well. It has been through some pretty big storms with no problems.

    Strapped my tv onto the gazebo post with the ZeboZAP gazebo tv mount.

    • @Rickmakes

      That would be cool setup. I get too much wind to install a TV on ours. It is holding up in the wind well.

    Really informative build along. How well has the gazebo held up over the past year?

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  3 місяці тому

      It has held up great. It has survived some pretty strong wind storms and it doesn't budge. It also gets pelted with acorns all day long but no damage since the roof panels are steel.

      @Rickmakes  4 місяці тому

      I usually tightened bolts after each section.

    Hi Rick. Do you have any tips for the roof panel’s clips popping off? I loosened the roof top to help, but those plastic parts still pop off

    • @leahparry3559

      We had a really tough time with those plastic clips too. At one point I just wanted to smash them all with a hammer!

    Very good job good luck with it! They’re all pretty much similar I paid a lot more for mine Than other 12 x 16’s made by purple leaf. you all know the saying but I think they’re all the same no matter what . galvanize steel from the same country . I had a guy install it in 3 1/2 hours with a friend he knew what he was doing right off the bat. I read horror stories about a neighborhood in 5 to 7 days to put up a 10 x 12.. you did a good job I have the same issues with the netting gap I simply cutanother hole in the plastic and tied down into the other hole or you could put double-sided tape underneath and remove the screw. I had some leaks here in there the installer came back add more silicone to the two sides that have a seam on the gutter there’s one screw at the very top I can’t figure out why it’s leaking there’s a bigger top over it so can’t figure out how water is getting in.. anyway I read a good comment from a
    Technical guy he said dyourself a favor get a tube of silicone and silicone every screw you put in otherwise your metal to metal these things do not come with washers or anything else that goes between the screw that contacts metal he’s right locally after a month I only have one gutter seem that leaks I fixed it and the one screw drips in the center of my Gazebo so the screws coming out maybe the whole top series are getting siliconeD in.. I can’t understand how an occasional A couple of drops every now and then is getting in the center of my Gazebo I see it dripping right off the screw.🧐 Anyway you did a great job saved yourself a lot of money good luck have fun get a fan it gets hot under there a top fan if you want and definitely one that goes on the floor or stand!👍🍀

      Only difference I've found is Purple leaf posts are 4.7 in compared to 3.9 of the Domi. The PL also has a gutter system. I guess that justifies the $600 dollar difference lol. We have the Domi and wind rating and snow load are still the same on both gazebos. Our is very sturdy.

    I am having a hard time putting the outside trim pieces K on. Did you have the bottom perimeter screws of the roof panels out or really loose to be able to put the trim pices on? Can't get the holes to line up

  • @chrisfilipdias

    Roof clips. How far do they go in groove? the fuzz part stick out? does it stay in? Grrr this roof is driving me crazy !

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  Рік тому +1

      They should seat against the top of the groove. You might try taping them with masking tape to hold them in place while you install them. Just put the tape on in a way that you can remove it after install.

    I am having difficulty installing the fasteners (#7 in my 10x16 kit) through far enough to start the threads of the nut onto it.
    I watched another install video and noticed he did use the rubber spacers between the panels and the crosspieces that support the mid section of the roof panels.
    Did you have that issue and if so how did you work around that?

  • @vipseat

    Hi, thanks for the video. Are there ties at the bottom (not the middle) of each post to secure the netting so it doesn't blow in tbe wind when closed up?

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  9 місяців тому

      It doesn't have ties at the bottom.

    hi, am trying to put together the same gazebo. finding that the z cips that attach to L1 & L2 slide all over the place and some have fallen off when trying to install L1 & L2. did you find this as well? if yes, how did you solve this? thanks!

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  2 місяці тому +1

      It can help to hold them with a little masking tape. I haven't tried it but a small spot of hot glue might help hold them in place.

    Does this absolutely need to be bolted down to a foundation of some sort. Or footing? I have a big gravel area that i wanna place this on and dont want anything "permanent"

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  7 місяців тому +1

      You can stake it to the ground. If I had gravel, I would use some long spikes or even some extra long GRK lag screws. I would definitely secure it in some fashion. I've probably had wind gusts of at least 45-50+mph and it hasn't budged.
