Is this a 5L or 3l and are you rebuilding it for boost?
Thanks mate. I’m building with reinforced internals but nothing too crazy. Not sure how crazy I’ll go with boost as I won’t be putting a new/upgraded fuel pump so it’ll run out of fuel before I can go hard. Also it’s a 3L.

what turbo are ou gonna put on it and where from?

Good to know mate. The filming setup is evolving and now I have a lapel mic, the newest video you can hear me heaps better. Bloody neighbour was cutting down some trees right behind the shed haha
@@thebus8685 Hello, wondering if you are a professional mechanic or just doing this work on your own truck as a hobby? Rebuilding the entire engine yourself is a big undertaking. I’d like to hear more information as you are doing the work. I have a 1988 3.0L diesel LN106 in Canada. My naturally-aspirated engine doesn’t really need rebuilding right now, but in the future I might want to make it stronger before adding a turbo. What are your rebuilding plans?
@@ShikokuFoodForest Just a pretend mechanic. My old man is a mechanic so I've learnt most things off him. Planning on doing the rebuild myself along with using his knowledge. Planning on putting stronger conrods and pistons. I already have a turbo waiting so once rebuilt itll be going on.
@@thebus8685 You are so fortunate to be learning from your father! Learn as much as you can from him. I wish I had that opportunity. Are the stronger connecting rods and pistons necessary when adding the turbo? So, your engine didn’t come stock with the turbo? Any idea what psi of boost you’re planning? I’ll be watching your progress. Enjoy!
@@ShikokuFoodForest I'm ubelievably lucky to be able to draw from his experience. The main issue with the 3L's is that the Head can crack under boost. the reinforced parts aarent necessary but it would be good measure. Yep it didnt have a turbo and thinking about 10 to 12 PSI of boost. Thanks for watching!!
