- The ZA-35 in War Thunder is a South African SPAA on a Rooikat Chassis that is insanely fast and has two 35mm cannons. Combined with the Scimitar and Buccaneer this British Lineup is chaos!
So, in this video we go a bit crazy using some of the most surgical tools in the British tech tree in War Thunder.

The British ground tree would be unbearable without the SA vehicles, so glad they were added.
Yeah pretty much, SA pretty much carries the UK Ground Tech Tree to being fun, despite it having way less vehicles than actual UK vehicles
Where is Britain unbearable? At reserve to 3.7 they're pretty unremarkable. Im at 5.7 and im enjoying them because i can front plate panthers

Obviously the mobility of the ZA-35 is a nice upgrade over it's counterparts, however the even nicer upgrade is the addition of IRST. Being able to zoom around with your giant radar folded down and still lock onto and eliminate aircraft is great, really catches them off guard!
Yeah I agree but with pgz09, it's not the fastest but really fun as other spaas at similar br doesn't make irst and I have thermals
I have never been able to lock aircraft with my radar down, is there something special you need to do to use the IRST?
@@commandoepsilon4664 You need to be aiming towards the target using the gunsight (it doesn't work in 3rd person). Then pressing your lock target key should allow you to lock onto it.

I used to live where there wasnt ever any snow. I only saw snow for the first time when i was 14. When i turned 28 it finally snowed for more than one day and I had it collect on the ground. I made my first snowman....at 28. I LOVE IT. even if the driving is hard and the idiots come out. I enjoy it.
To fix the bombing/pancaking issues you had with the buccaneer I would seriously recommend flying it fast at low level instead of dive-bombing - the plane is designed with extreme low-level attack in mind, so it should hopefully work in the role a bit better
That may give you some trouble with target acquisition, also if your using the missiles you'll have much less time to guide them to their target.

Hey Odd do you remember when south Africa was teased and they had a SAM version of this thing? It had like 2-4 launchers. They took it out for some reason and I wondered if you knew why?
It was a paper tank, which gaijin doesn't add to the game. Don't know if they knew that in the ad or not but... someone messed up.
@@richhomiefire9787 Gaijin adds plenty of paper tanks, when they feel like the German or Soviet trees need an additional pointless thing. In the same manner they add paper ships and paper planes.

@@errornamenotfound2513 I'd say they are roughly equivalent. You trade the APDS belts, smoke grenades, as well as the ability to carry any amount of backup ammo, for speed and engine smoke. They are equally good at killing aircraft, but the Gepard can destroy heavier ground targets, while the ZA-35 is better at killing lighter ground targets since it can get into positions faster.
Za plus falcon has been my best lineup for achieving nukes. Feel better sooner, and happy new year!

The ZA is what every Falcon dreams of being when it grows up ... That or the Swedish Marksman. Also, for some reason, when the radar dish is stowed, the turret reminds me of the Alien queen's head :P

imo they should make a south african tech tree, not finland or some other random country with 97% borrowed vehicles, my country has a lot of unique and independently made vehicles and they're extremely good for being 1980s-1990s era, such as the rooivalk heli, or the rooikat, but i would feel so bad for the british tech tree basically becoming unplayable

I love it when you blow things up and create carnage. When you get in a tank or aircraft and wander around like a lost dog it gets boring. Just get in a fast God tier vehicle, flank, and destroy the enemy team. It is what your amazing at!!!

I've been having that render issue also. I will be looking at a tank probably 250 meters away and then they will disappear, then all of the sudden I get killed by them.
You can aim the bullpups with the lower part of the reticule, its very accurate.
Also scimitar has around the same dry thrust as the F-4 Phantom. Nothing else climbs like it in it's tier.
how do you aim that?
@@gruminator1 ok it'll be a bit hard to explain without a screen shot but, on my vid here ua-cam.com/video/po6_03JQ8NM/v-deo.html if you pause right at that time [8 mins 27sec] you can see I launch a missile predicting the enemy will be at the lower part of the cross on my reticule by the time the missile arrives.
Basically, using the upper tip of the lower part of the cross on the reticule you can aim where the missile will hit.
I do it this way because it means I can immediately change direction if needed to avoid AA .etc, I don't have to manually guide the missile in.

Day 8 of proposing the challange I came up with to Odd:
The cxhallenge is called "Basket Bomb":
Your goal is to acuurately drop a bomb into any open top tanks' turret basket (e.g. M10 / M18 / the big german td's / the german AA's etc.)! Extra points if you use a very low-tier aircraft like a biplane, for the funnies.
I think that would be extremely fun and it would make me so happy if you gave it a try
Probably a good chance to win the GE for submitted videos if you could pull it off. I like the idea, you should def try and see if you can get some free GE.

Dive bomber would probably be easiest just in terms of attack angle and aim.
Sterling would be easiest because you just huck 27 500lbs (250s?) at them and pray.

I rarely play the upper tiers. It just doesn't look like much fun to me. The fact that I'm a mediocre player at best doesn't help, but this video just reaffirms my feelings toward top tier.

Man if we could choose maps, I'd play mostly on Sinai and make 1 million SL a day. Absolutely love that map and I do so well on it.

i remember back in the day you could actually change some setting in the ini to get better rendering but now EAC wont allow you to do anything anymore.
I wish we could pick our maps. Especially when you get the same map over and over.
11:19 😶🌫Even back in 2001, you could choose a map in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. You could set up a server with your own map rotation. This is one of the things that bothers me most about WT is not being able to choose a map or map rotation. And that map banning/dislike feature is a joke. It seems whatever I choose there is what I get the most!
You should play the firecrest and the crusader, the firecrest went from br 3.3 down to 2.3
Wish we could trade locations. I know everyone says “you wouldn’t like snow if you had to deal with it everyday, but i hate sweating. I’d take snow over any weather.
That’s why you need a location that has 4 seasons. I live in Colorado and this winter we had a 60 degree day and 12 hours later -20 degrees.

The lag/stutters is back! I noticed a couple of examples in your video. An identical event happens in game to me as well, which leads to me to believe, it's a Gaijin server issue.... (I'm on a 12th gen CPU, 3000 series GPU, with 1gig fiber internet)
The game freezes for 1-2 seconds. No packet loss or frame drops!
Now we need gaijin to released the SAM version of this

IIRC the lowest portion of the side of russian tanks right around the suspension attachment is like 20mm.
It looks so easy to just missile enemies from above for a free kill.
