- The M53/69 in War Thunder is a Czechoslovakian SPAA with a twin 30mm cannon! This thing is an absolute monster when it comes to both destroying Planes AND tanks with 91mm of penetration and 1000m/s shell velocity.

Just when you thought the only thing you had to worry about is the BTR-ZD, in walks this thing. The Lizard SPAA or "Praga" is an insane addition to the lineup of USSR vehicles at 6.0!
It's essentially a Kugelblitz on wheels... absolutely bonkers and VERY fun!

Just a note, Praga doesn't mean lizard (which was the vehicles unofficial nickname), it's just the name of the company that made it. The Czech world for lizard would be 'ještěrka'.

My favorite video is when he played the T-34-85 (D-5T) and destroyed every single german player in existence.
I haven't seen much of Bawz's deeper catalogue but in recent memory I'd have to say the Zachlam Tager video is my favorite. I just about died laughing watching him get bullied by teammates and have an all-around miserable time trying to play that awful pos.

My first neighbour was officer in Serbian army in Bosnian War, anyway by his words "once a t-55 pulled out on the field to challenge me in praga, i came out and started shooting, first i manage to rip off everything of that cupola and tank gun was constantly moving due to me firing at him" tank retreated. Praga was the most efficient weapon of war in Bosnia. Cheers
OMG...this monster. Never thought this would make it into WT. The most brutal of the old-style, WW2-era AA guns (before radar & advanced optics). Fires a massively bottle-necked 30X210mm cartridge from huge ammo cassettes. The gun itself is derived from the *MK303,* which was an advanced naval flak cannon designed by Germany at the end of the war.

Reading up on it it seems this has nothing to do with the Soviet naval AK-230 guns and their 30x210B mm ammo.

people always argue that Japan can't have a Korean subtree because of the history of hostility, but the Soviet tree gets to have vehicles like this from nations that it invaded and occupied.
And China has a Taiwan sub tree 😂
It's Warsaw Pact so would have fought alongside the Soviets in WW3. Makes sense.
What doesn't make sense is West German Leopards in the same lineup as East German T-72. Or Taiwanese Pattons in the same lineup as Chinese T-54.

The shells on these cannons are massive. Much larger that the A10 30mm. Like a 30mm magnum.
That's an iconic vehicle from the Yugo civil war, so much so that everyone who participated calls any self propelled vehicle with an auto-cannon a Praga.
Praga is company name, it was nicknamed "lizard" (in cz ještěrka) and it was called that because it coud "drop" the guns like lizard drop its tail
Italy: gets only a milktruck and a box with a glock on wheels
Ussr: gets a primitive SRAM with more pen than any british tank

I've almost gotten a nuke in this thing nearly 3 times but the enemy teams just kept leaving too early for it. Absolutely insane vehicle I love it. Even if it goes up in BR it will still be deadly you'll just face faster opponents and IFVs but also less armor as well. I can only see them making the AP belts a 3-1 with HE to maybe somewhat balance it or reduce its pen.
Prob reduce it's pen like they did to the german MK103s 30mms, potentially they might even remove the HVAP entirely and have it only able to get generic AP
@@rav3727 It really depends how much they want to stick to "historical" accuracy even though they disregard that a lot of the time. It's hard to say with Gaijin seeing as the ZSU is still the best 7.0 tank destroyer and is more mobile than the Praga the least they need to do with it is move it up

@@BARelement like to see odd use the US 75mm half track to hunt tigers and panthers at 5.3. I do it and gives me a fun challenge. Also use the f4 wildcat all the time, even claimed 1 me262.

Fun fact Praga was used in Yugoslav civil war in the 90 's and Serbia is modernising it by adding anti air missiles to it and a radar and was used primarily as infantry support vehicle because of it's firepower

I dont know if its obs or war thunder but I have had some issues myself. I noticed if i had obs stream/record at a smaller resolution and FPS I can keep my game settings up. Not sure why that is though.

Pretty funny how they nerfed Ostwind and Wirbelwind, and 30 Mk103 cannons, but they give 91mm to a OF COURSE Russian SPAA.
Yeah and you notice how all the crew are covered except the gunner, so how does the loader do his job?
Yet the vehicles gun reloads faster than a lot of medium tanks.
The fact the kugle lost like 20mm of its pen on the AP belts then went up in br ruing the perfect 6.7 linup still pisses me off to this day
Interestingly, gun the M53/59 Praga is using is just improved version of 3 cm MK 303 Flak that was developed and made for Germany in than occupied Czechoslovakia.

5:22 in a situation like this it's best to reverse, there for when looking down the gunner sight you keep your driver and co driver behind cover
the 2160k here on YT works and the game still looks good graphics wise 👍 I wonder why these low BR Spaa don't get spotting like the Pantsir and the FLakRad they get spoting for them SPaa tanks.

What I love about vehicles like this is, you kill a tank and the player gets salty, they then very often make the mistake of coming back with an aeroplane! 😂
And 5.0 to 6.0 has almost become unplayable due to power creep. Thanks Gaijin.
5.0 - 6.0 has basically turned into what 6.3-7.3 has been for a while now :/ Sadly about all I feel like playing these days is 4.3 and below. 5.7 used to be my jam.... it's a nightmare now. Too much dumb crap at 6.0-6.7 for 5.3/5.7 to be remotely fun now.

On the topic of spotting with higher resolutions, I play at 4K and tried out War Thunder on my Steam Deck (800p display) and it was such a whiplash of not being able to see any thing that I never tried again. After playing at 4K I couldn't imagine having to play any lower.
Got a full up tier in this thing and still got 7 ground kills (and 1 aircraft)

Invisible artillery is in order. IMHO artillery shouldn’t have warning smoke anyway ; it just arrives unannounced. Also, as airfields as so close we should be able to shell those as well.
I love this janky piece of Czechnology, but those penetration tables. The 30 degree penetration looks almost identical to the flat 90 degree penetration table the Yugoslav military published...! Curious, Gaijin!

Praga does not translate to lizard, Praga is praga but, the M53/59 Pldvk has nickname in Czechoslovak lands and that is "Ještěrka" which means lizard.
