Just curious how you arrive at that calculation?
My husband and I were grouse hunting at Edna creek in mid Idaho last Sept. At dusk we heard 3 whoops, then chatter from above us. Then my dog was paralyzed all night. He was normal by morning. He is only 5 years old w no history of nerve or spinal problems.
I think subsonic sounds from bigfoot did it. Near our camper were solar fairy lights that were in the middle of the forest I think they wanted to visit but were mad we were there.

One lunged at my Father in Connecticut while I was growing up. It appeared in the kitchen window and scared the daylights out of my sister. My Dad 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, then kept a house turned on and kept it by the kitchen door if it came back. It did and again scared my sister who starting crying. My Father ran outside and sprayed it with the hose, causing it to lunge. Initially my Father thought it was a neighborhood prank. Not after this occurred, because he then bought a rifle and kept it by the kitchen door that Summer. Although I was young he showed me where the ammo was kept near it and told me it's for just in case. This was in Connecticut, that has a fairly well developed manufacturing & industrial base, but is still considered 60% woodlands even in 2024.
Wife saw one in Maine.
