- The Tu-1 is a unique $35 USD Russian premium pack plane. It's armed like a heavy fighter/cannon based CAS, but moves like a Blenheim. So, is it worth purchasing? Should you buy it? Thank you for the kind words! I wanted to make this one about 2/3 as long, but I had a lot of thoughts on it. This is one of the first vehicles that I've genuinely thought just wasn't that good

While everything you said about the Tu-1 is 100% correct with how limited it is, ive had so much fun with it in Air RB. Although i was a little dissapointed with the "1000kg" bombs it has, base bombing and getting a few pillboxes and tanks on the way out has netted me quite a bit of RP and SL. I did a match without payload and went after players and i managed to get 4 kills. I can see why people would shy away from that because the guns are hard to aim given how unmanuerverable the plane is. The climb isnt the best but hey just side climb lol
I can 100% relate to this comment, that plane has made me more money in 4 days then in my entire time playing wt
@@trolly._.8656 i tried using it in sim and honestly its even better lol. I won a 8 minute long dogfight against a fw190 and i was either staying with his turns or cutting inside them which surprised me
Way overpriced. I love the Tu-2, but no way I’m spending $35 on this. Maybe $15.
I'd buy for 20$ to grind out for something like MiG 9

1:33 i actually once drove on the autobahn with a bicycle, my uncle had a farm there (im Dutch) and when i was visiting i wanted to go to the nearest town. In my country the acces to highways are very long/different so i had no idea i was entering a highway. Luckily i figured out my error as soon as i was at the end of the entrance and returned lol. (i was about 11 years old back than so looking at trafficsigns was not yet a thing for me lol)
Ah those stories of youth are always poignant! Love em! Lol if I told mine . . . naaa I grew up in Chicago and live here in the old lady by the lake to this day. I am not sure how you do it without throwing keyboard through wall. Though I am pretty impressed as you survived quite a bit in ways I didn't know anyone could. I have tried torping and bombing in naval for those daily missions and I never got close. You can't hardly be left alone in Air RB either, you are essentially the low hanging fruit. Though you put up a good fight there. It is worrying because you probably used all the better clips.
Well I just checked and I found another benefit, the repair cost is only 1770 silver ffs
It looks overtiered like many planes at first, this is another that most will be best waiting for that downtier, though they needed torps up there I guess.

To evade enme fire you can't turn with them in any bomber BUT by using SMALL level and radial changes (pitch and yaw vectors) you can stay out of enme line of fire at least SOME of the time. It's super frustrating to the fighter pilot. This tactic works best against jet fighters because they can't maneuver at speed. But you get a good prop driver who drops throttle you're done. Not so many of those guys though. If you're slow they have be be slow too to kill you -- usually lol ; ) Love your stuff man! Very very cool!
Thanks for this. I saw a TU-1 in a ground RB game today and it was wreaking havok, BUT there was no enemy air up.
Probably if you rush and get airborne early you can go well.
I find the Do-335 very hard work so if you think the Tu-1 is worse....oof.
That's just it, haha. In test flight, it's amazing. In much the same way, if there are no enemies up or any active SPAA, it will be the most devastating CAS plane in the match. The problem is that those conditions are very rare. I'd rather use the TIS MA in a 5.7 match over the Tu-1, at least if it's anything outside of early match or unless the skies are uncontested.
I just cannot wrap my head around Do-335's, I am always doing miserable in a CAS role with the premium one. And if the Tu-1 is even worse, then no thanks.
these type of planes are incredibe for people who want semi afk fast grinding.
q air rb, max bombs, drop altitude and rush to bomb a base then try to go for a crit or kill on an enemy fighter or shoot some ground targets.
rp/min is amazing and it is super consistent.

Exactly. It is really good for rp in air RB, but aside from getting to the base, it really can't do much else. The guns are really only usable for ground attack. I never once was able to do a vertical loop in this plane. It's just too slow for combat maneuvers

Sooo...its a crappy version of the Merry Tismas aka TIS MA? The Tis Ma can carry the 45mm (pointless as the 37mm is better IMHO), can carry booms, but unlike this thing the Tis Ma is actually a pretty decent heavy fighter and can rack up kills in Air RB and come home at the end of the match.
pretty much that. 45mm are crap due to some laughable spread, 37mm are way better. And yeah. TIS-MA is just the best versatile ground pounder soviets have.
Also lack of a bomb sight for such a brick is terrible. Regular tu2 at least has the sight and can do precise bombing.
The Tis Ma is great.
@@1222dss I have racked up 4 kill air RB runs in Merry Tismas WHILE carrying the 2 big booms, the bombs are ez pz to aim on Tismas, the 37mm accurate, great bird.
I was hoping this would be a Merry Tismas on steroids but after seeing a couple in action? Yeah...no, its too fat, too sluggish, its certainly not worth the price.
@@jetnavigator Isn't it just cheeki breeki? I'd say if you don't have Merry Tismas just get the ITP for $5, this thing I had hopes for being a poor man's Merry Tismas (as the Tis Ma is currently $80 on the market, really should have bought a spare coupon when it was $5, stupid me) but its too fat, too heavy, and the 45mm is just crap compared to the 37mm on the Tis Ma and ITP.

The Do335 is better, but it can't grind the russian tech tree. Comparison with only it's own nations planes would be a better, more usefull information. Otherwise it is only true for SL grinding.

It's not that the Tu-1 is a bad plane. It's just that it's too slow to do anything with its cannons and sometimes is too slow to reach a base before it has already been destroyed. So... I guess that's pretty bad, haha.
@@Tankenstein but it's mostly slowed by the 1000 kg bombs, isn't it? 500 km/h it goes basically all the time without them. I feel like it can be quite good against heavy bombers as its caliber its so big.

TIS MA is a lower in br and does the same job. use the T18B on sweden for the same, worse experience
@@Zigmmaaaaarrssss I don't see how TIS and TU-1 can be compared. Despite the attack aircraft label, the TU-1 shouldn't fly low, or just briefly for BnZ. The tu-1 extremely effective at high altitude for its category it climbs great, the 3 tons bombs are doing just fine, and it can be deadly as an interceptor/support with its speed dive advantage and firepower. Two well placed 45mm shots will break a heavy bomber in half. What a sight. Just avoid any dogfight at all cost tho, The good news the Tu-1 can endure a lot of punishment before giving up on you. The TIS otoh is a true attack aircraft, it's more agile, making more opportunistic kills but is useless above 2500 metres and can't take a hit without getting blown up. A IL2 on steroids but way weaker. I know TIS is loved by many but to me, the most frustrating aircraft Ive had to play with, I'm just really bad with attack aircrafts to be honest.

Would be cool if you actually mentioned a good alternative grinder for the Russian tech tree.... Like, i don't give a fuck if the Do 335 or the Narwhal are better planes/grinders when they are not even in the tree i want to grind. I've see so many youtubers make this mistake lately, and its frankly annoying. With all that being said, I recommend the premium Su-7 with S-5K rockets (for farming ground targets) if you want and average of 10k RP per match.
that plane is made fro ground rb you can kill 3 tanks eazy with that bomb load no other russian plane that can mouve like this has i will wait until its 50 % off and buy it
IMO its stupid the best Russian CAS plane above 3.7 is locked behind a pay wall.
